Admit
Jay-jay's POV
I didn't say a word. Keifer and the others could tell I didn't want to talk. They tried bringing me to the hospital, but I refused. The organizers might find out what happened, and I didn't want trouble to escalate.
I'm not even sure what the school will do about this. I'm also worried Cyrus's family might suddenly come after me.
I hope not!
When we got to Camp—ugh, what an annoying name—we headed straight to the hall. It was way past lunchtime and none of us had eaten yet.
We were the only ones there because the others had gone back to their camping sites.
"No more food?" Felix asked while checking each pot. Meals had been prepared for everyone, lined up on a long table. All the students had to do was line up and eat.
But it looked like everything was gone.
"Some soup left. But we still have these," a staff member said, pointing to a few more pots.
I just sat and watched them fuss over the food. David sat beside me, already eating.
"You really don't want to go to the hospital?" he asked.
I shook my head. "The organizers will find out, and it'll only stir up more trouble. Let's just leave it."
He nodded, accepting my answer. Then someone placed a tray of food in front of me. It was Keifer, with a serious look on his face.
"Eat," he commanded.
I looked at the tray. Soup and a little rice. A few slices of bread and a banana. I felt like a hospital patient.
"I-I'm not hungry…"
"If you don't eat, I'll take you to the hospital."
But I really had no appetite. Plus, I was feeling awful because of all the bruises I got.
I sighed and pulled the tray toward me. I forced myself to eat, even though every swallow felt like a stab to my insides.
Ouch.
As I ate, I couldn't help but feel awkward. The annoying jerk beside me wouldn't stop staring.
What's his problem?!
Yuri arrived and sat across from me, slamming his tray down.
I looked at David, who looked equally confused. He glanced at me with a forced smile before standing up and walking away.
Hey! Don't leave me here!
As soon as David left, the jerk king took his seat beside me. Arms crossed, he leaned back.
"W-what?" I asked.
He sighed before saying, "You're no longer allowed to go anywhere alone. Someone has to be with you at all times."
Huh?!
"Why? What for?" I snapped, clearly annoyed.
This guy has some nerve. And Yuri, who kept staring, clearly agreed with him.
"Look what happened to you! What if we hadn't come?! You'd be lying in a hospital by now," he snapped.
"I didn't know that would happen. No one in Holy Shi-Saints would've hurt me," I explained, but he wasn't buying it.
"No one?! And what do you call what that Cyrus guy did to you?! Didn't he BEAT you up?! HURT you?!"
"I didn't know he was going to do that!"
Damn it.
I don't know why, but I felt like crying just trying to explain everything to them. They're just like Kuya Angelo—impossible to explain things to.
"Wasn't that Cyrus guy in the hospital?" Yuri asked, making us turn to him.
"He got discharged weeks ago and returned to school," I answered.
"So you knew?!" Keifer asked angrily, brows furrowed.
Oh no.
I swallowed nervously. Why is he so mad? What did I do?
"Y-yeah… I was told—"
"And yet you didn't even let us come with you!" he cut me off.
"Because I didn't—"
"Maybe you wanted to meet up with him?" Yuri interrupted.
Keifer rubbed his temples with his eyes shut. I could tell he was holding back his anger.
"W-what? How could that happen? We don't even get along! We don't talk at all!" I snapped back at Yuri.
"Then why'd you still go? Maybe you wanted to see that Cyrus guy!" Keifer accused.
What the hell?!
My head's starting to hurt from these two. I can't take this anymore!
"Why would I even want to see— Wait a minute!" I squinted at them, shifting my gaze between the two.
"...Are you guys jealous?"
Yuri looked away. The king glared at me.
"Yes!"
"No!"
They answered at the same time. I couldn't tell who said what.
"You two are confusing! What exactly are you mad about?!" I snapped.
"Isn't it obvious? We're mad because you got hurt, and we weren't there to protect you," Yuri calmly said.
I understood that part. That was my fault. If only I had texted them earlier.
I turned to Keifer, waiting for his answer. His brows were still furrowed as he stared at me.
"Tss," he said.
Thanks for the clear answer.
I squinted even more. I probably looked like a Chinese person by now. Daoming Si! Shan Cai! Wait—those are Taiwanese.
We stared at each other for a while. The worst part? He was actually challenging me back. I'm really turning Chinese.
Nihao ma!
"Fine!" he finally said. "I'm f*cking mad because I'm jealous! What guy would be okay knowing the girl he likes is meeting up with her ex?!"
I heard some laughter nearby. I turned to see the other guys watching us from a nearby table.
Very funny, guys!
Keifer glared at them. "Tell me! You'd feel the same way, right?!"
Some scratched their heads and looked away.
"I'd feel the same. I agree with Keifer," David said.
"I might kill Grace's ex," Denzel added.
"Good thing Mica doesn't have one," said Calix.
"Keifer's right!" Rory chimed in.
"I'd skin the ex alive, then bathe him in onions and garlic," said Ci-N.
I smacked my forehead. They're making it worse. These idiots!
"And you ask if we're jealous?! Seriously, Jay! Have some awareness!" Keifer shouted at me.
I winced at his words. He's insane. His jealousy isn't even justified.
"Crazy! There's nothing to be jealous about with Cyrus!" I shouted.
"Tss."
"You're both lunatics!" I shouted at Keifer and Yuri.
"Why me?" Yuri asked.
"Stop pretending you're not jealous!" Keifer yelled at him. "Don't act like you didn't tell me we should paralyze Cyrus so he can't get near Jay-jay!"
Yuri scratched his head with a sheepish smile. I knew it! These two!
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh!
"There's nothing to be jealous of! So stop it, you two!"
"Tss… I should've just gone after that Cyrus," Keifer muttered—obviously loud enough to hear.
"Stop it already!"
"If I find out you see that guy again, I'll lock you in my house and bury Cyrus alive!" he threatened, making the others laugh.
"It's better if we burn him alive," Yuri suggested.
Keifer actually liked the idea, and they suddenly bonded again. I almost smiled because of that. Despite everything, their friendship was still there.
But guilt ate me up. It's my fault they're like this. Maybe if I hadn't ended up in Section E, they wouldn't have gotten like this again.
"Keifer! Keifer!" someone suddenly shouted. We all turned. It was Edrix!
"What?!" the king asked, annoyed.
"O-our stuff…" He took a deep breath. "...is missing!"
"What?!" we all yelled.
"The cooler, the box of canned goods, even the rice is gone," he explained.
What now?! Did someone steal from us?! Damn it! What are we supposed to eat?! The school only provides breakfast and lunch—for Section E, only lunch, and it's leftovers at that.
We all chipped in before just so we could buy extra food, and now it's missing. Unbelievable!
The others quickly stood and rushed off. I tried to get up. Thankfully, Ci-N immediately came over to help me walk.
The others reached the campsite first. We were last because I was too slow.
Our stuff was in chaos. Some tents were damaged, others were wide open. Our food storage—cooler, canned goods, and even the large rice bucket—was gone.
"My tent!" Ci shouted, running to his torn tent. "...So annoying!"
I looked at mine and saw it was open. I slowly walked over and peeked inside.
My bag looked untouched, but something was missing.
"My Snorlax!" I shouted.
"Fcking sht! We really got robbed! And they even destroyed the tents!" Keifer yelled.
"But who would do this?!" Kit asked, worried.
"Let's tell the organizer!" David suggested.
"Good idea," Yuri agreed.
They were about to leave when Josh raised his hand, holding a floral handkerchief.
"Is this anyone's?" he asked.
They all looked at me. I was the only girl here who might own something floral.
But I'm not into floral stuff.
"Nope..." I replied.
Josh looked at the handkerchief again, unfolded it, and read what was written.
"John… Rose," he read aloud. "Who's this?"
"A guy?" Felix asked.
"Maybe a girl," Calix replied.
"Wait! Johnrose? That's Adier!" Blaster said, making us all look at him. "He's from Section B! He was my classmate!"
Section B?!
How did something from a Section B student end up here? We all looked at each other—an idea forming in our heads.
"Where's Section B's campsite?" Mayo asked.
"It's farther out. We're the only ones isolated from the rest," Drew replied.
Shit!
"What is this?! Did Section B steal from us?!" I asked, furious.
"Looks like it," Eren answered.
Damn it! Why'd they have to do this?! And they even took my Snorlax. That was a gift!
A gift from Percy.
"We have to get those things back!" Felix shouted.
I agree.
I need to get Snorlax back…
And our food too!
