Chapter 13 - Chapter 12: Rage of Broken Arm

Tick-tock.

The sound of the holographic phone being connected echoed.

"Has the device been plugged into the Dogtown network? What's the status now?" The man's deep voice resonated on the other end of the phone.

Under the night sky, a woman leaned against a car, wearing a sharp suit, spotless patent leather high heels, and the pale golden parts of her hand prosthesis reflected a faint halo.

"It's done. It seems that the fight over there with the Netherhounds is quite lively. As for Hansen... he's still giving his personal speech, spewing nonsense."

She waved her hand, driving away the flies attracted by a corpse nearby, hollowed out by scavengers.

Not long after, some data from the Dogtown network was sent over by her boss.

"It's been checked out. There are people from the Night City headquarters involved in this mess."

The woman's eyes glowed blue as the information was sent over by her boss.

"Abernathy is in the limelight recently, and this cousin is trying her best to wag her tail in front of the senior management, trying to steal my limelight. There are still several orders from regional clients pending, and this job in Dogtown must be done well. In this human resources analysis review of the counterintelligence department, you are on the promotion list."

"Really? That's great." The woman's voice was pleasant, with a slight nasal tone, and her tone was neither hurried nor slow.

The boss on the other end continued:

"Hansen wants us to lose business. This batch of goods is all transferred from Europe. Officially, they're our goods for sale."

"But you know, we will not support the warlord. Dogtown does not allow us to get involved, so he cannot take our things."

"The executives who resell arms in the European region have been taken care of by our people. As for who orchestrated this in Night City, you have to investigate it yourself. The Frankfurt order is very important, and I have to keep an eye on it. Now is a crucial stage of the Cloud Sea Project.

"The matter of Dogtown is entrusted to you. I want to see the report when I return."

The woman acknowledged, "What about military technology?"

"Don't worry about it. They're afraid we will ally with Hansen and let these dogs fend for themselves."

The woman hung up the phone and folded her arms, looking at the scene of the firefight at the foot of the mountain.

Issues at the Night City headquarters were a concern. The counterintelligence department was the most worried. These kinds of messes always ended up there—layoffs were the best outcome. You can't guarantee that your work card won't be canceled one day and a few company agents won't come to take you away.

And then they deal with you cleanly, leaving no trace.

At this moment, a person at the gunfight scene at the foot of the mountain appeared on the list sent by the boss.

After a moment's thought, the woman turned, opened the car door, and started the car. In the darkness in the distance, several scavengers who were ready to go slowly surrounded her.

"Kidney-cutting, interesting."

She stared at them with interest, an inexplicable smile on her slightly delicate face, and her artificial eyes slowly turned red.

Electric arcs suddenly burst from the scavengers' heads, the bloody butcher knives and bats in their hands fell to the ground, and with the violent explosion of artificial bodies, their artificial eyes flickered.

The car door closed, the tires burned out a puff of green smoke, and a scavenger who was still twitching bent over, trying to escape this state.

Bang!

As the guy flew high, the red taillights of the car disappeared all the way to the end of the Dogtown Road...

-----------------

The entire unfinished building's materials area was swarmed by the Nether Dog, opposing a cyberpunk team, with a sniper not far away.

The siege by the Hellhounds eventually led to the two forces clashing.

Everyone was now in a very exhausted state.

Logan Lane sent the last bullet into the head of a poor guy hiding behind the concrete baffle, and his big gun stopped working.

Without time to think, he continued to use the kinetic rifle on the other side of his back to resist.

The Hellhounds are a gang army from military technology, with strong tactical execution capabilities, and they know a lot about street fighting.

The only thing to be thankful for is that the terrain here is complicated. If the Hellhounds' armed vehicles were allowed to drive in, the current situation would reverse immediately—

after all, Logan and his men didn't have any heavy weapons.

"Be careful!"

Pyrrha, whose arms were covered with blood, had finished firing the bullets and was about to lower his head to reload when a gun muzzle appeared from the side, aiming at his forehead.

Rebecca kicked her brother away and smashed the Hellhound's head to pieces.

"Manny!"

Dolio, who was seriously injured, crouched behind the bunker with a very ugly expression.

More and more Hellhounds poured in, causing the situation to swiftly reverse. Logan and Manny's eyes met.

In a sense, they were temporarily in the same group.

"Damn it!"

Logan was furious, "I told you to retreat quickly! Go separately, or you'll be trapped here!"

Manny lost his temper after being scolded by Logan. It seemed that Logan really had no intention of moving them.

The burly man looked up and observed the situation in front of him, immediately commanding his team to retreat to the side. "Stupid, do you still want to run alone? Go this way!"

Logan didn't want to follow this team. Just when the line of fire was so dense that no one could raise their heads, a burst of mechanical noise came into several people's ears.

The Hellhounds' mechas had entered the scene!

These former military technology robots, covered with graffiti by the Hellhounds soldiers, had white spray-painted skeletons on the front and large-caliber machine guns and missiles on each arm. Such mechas were fully capable of navigating complex terrain.

Logan kept scanning for a solution. He couldn't die here today, no matter what!

The mech turned into the construction site. Logan saw the soldiers of the Nether Dog hiding behind the bunkers, waiting for this guy to flatten the bunkers of Logan and others as soon as possible.

[Petrochemical]

Logan saw this line of words written on a rusty can in the broken steel beside the mech.

CHOOH2?

This thing is like gasoline. Logan immediately had an idea.

The heavy firepower of the Nether Dog is concentrated in that position.

"Give me the guy who can fight!"

Rebecca, who was far away, held two guns and threw her shotgun over at the first opportunity.

Logan held this heavy weapon. Although he was not a brave man, it was enough.

So he moved flexibly and quickly towards the can, and this behavior undoubtedly attracted the attention of the mech!

"Buzz!"

The machine gun locked onto Logan, and a row of dense bullets with sparks hit behind him.

Logan felt like his soul had fled, but he had no choice but to grit his teeth and try to get closer to the iron can.

"Look at me! You bastard!"

Rebecca's blood vessels popped up on her forehead, and she took another gun and threw a bunch of bullets at the outer shell of the mecha, subconsciously covering Logan.

The big guy with bulletproof armor felt provoked and immediately turned his head to shoot at Rebecca and the others, who were moving in the opposite direction of Logan.

Because there was a blind spot between the mecha and Logan, the leader of the Nether Dog cursed this artificial idiot and began to concentrate fire on Rebecca and the others who were running.

"Here!"

Logan flashed out from the front of the petrified can of CHOOH2. The recoil of Rebecca's weapon should not be underestimated. A shotgun shell sprayed directly on the outer shell of the mecha, and a burst of sparks flashed in the mecha's mechanical arm, and the outer shell also had pits and dents.

The first time the mecha turned around, Logan dodged immediately.

The mecha's bullets were so powerful that they immediately swept the cans behind Logan.

Logan, who turned around to escape, exerted all his body's potential, jumped high, and suddenly a huge force erupted from his back!

He felt like he was kicked away by a powerful force, his back numb, and the mecha was now engulfed in flames!

Everyone, including the Nether Dog, was stunned by the huge explosion!

Amidst the chaos, wailing, and the sizzling sound of burning...

Manny shook off the debris on his head, visibly excited. "Too awesome!"

Rebecca dropped the gun and immediately rushed to Logan, who was trying to get up.

Logan's head was now completely muddled, his ears unable to hear any sound. Rebecca, in his sight, opened and closed her mouth, as if she was saying something.

Bang, bang, a broken piece of steel burning with flames rolled toward Logan.

The sound suddenly came into his ears. It was too late for Logan to dodge after reacting.

The sharp-edged steel rolled over Logan's arm prosthesis, and a broken arm flashing with arcs flew high.

When the pain filled his mind, Logan felt like vomiting, and blood gushed out of his mouth and dripped onto Rebecca's gun.

Logan pushed the gun into Rebecca's arms, who had helped him up, and pushed her away.

"Get out with your team."

In the construction site where flames were burning everywhere, the injured Nether Dogs were struggling to get up. The dazed Rebecca was lifted by Dorio, and a group of people sank into the endless ruins from the other side.

Logan also tried his best to stand up and dragged one leg to escape to the wasteland of Dogtown.

Faced with the large number of rewards updated on the panel, he no longer had any interest.

Logan just wanted to kill the people who sold him.

That's all.
