Chapter 16 - Mastering the Spiritual Techniques

Rudra spiritual space..

Rudra stood in front of the unicorn spiritual formation technique. He circled it slowly, studying it from every angle. After a close inspection, he finally discovered something—**nine star points** on the unicorn beast technique.

He took a deep breath and **unleashed his spiritual energy**, converting all **78 spiritual stars** into 9 powerful stars. One by one, he placed those stars onto the formation's designated points. Once positioned, Rudra **clenched his feet** and **blasted** the stars with his energy.

—**The seal was broken.**

Now, the technique flowed into him. He began channeling his spiritual energy into it and spent the next few hours fully observing and absorbing the essence of the **Unicorn Dash technique**.

---

### **Mastering the Unicorn Dash**

As the stars of his spiritual space glimmered softly, Rudra opened his eyes. Night had already fallen.

He activated the technique.

A **spiritual wind unicorn** materialized before him, its horn swirling with sharp wind energy. It dashed toward a tree at full speed—**BOOM!** The tree shattered with explosive force.

Rudra smiled, impressed.

> "Great... This can defeat an opponent within seconds."

---

### **Now\... Time for the Chain Control Technique**

Rudra sat back down and entered his **spiritual space** once again. In front of him were **four circular formations** arranged in a single row. He examined them closely but found no clues.

He searched for **spiritual star spots**—but saw nothing. After a long while, he noticed something strange: **24 small spikes** on each circle.

> *"How stupid am I? They were right in front of me and I didn't see them…"*

He activated 24 of his spiritual stars and sent the first one to the first spike—it glowed.

Then, he sent the second star to the second spike, but this time, **none of the spikes activated**—even the first one dimmed.

After countless failed attempts, Rudra realized the secret:

He needed to assign each spiritual star to a different circle in a **rotating sequence**.

He sent the:

* 1st star to the 1st spike in the 1st circle,

* 2nd star to the 2nd spike in the 2nd circle,

* 3rd star to the 3rd spike in the 3rd circle,

* 4th star to the 4th spike in the 4th circle,

* 5th star to the 5th spike back in the 1st circle...

…and so on, until all 24 spiritual stars were placed across the four formations—**6 in each**.

Suddenly, the formations began to **rotate and glow**. Their seals broke, and **spiritual energy surged** into Rudra's body.

> **He had mastered the Chain Controlling Techniques.**

---

### **Morning Light**

He opened his eyes again—**shocked**.

> "It's almost noon already? I didn't realize it took me so long…"

He stood and walked near a pond.

A familiar voice called out—

**Soldier:**

> "Young master! I've told you more than a hundred times, this isn't a place to play. Leave now!"

**Rudra (grinning):**

> "Uncle Fei, I've also told you—stop calling me master. Just call me Rudra."

**Fei:**

> "You're still my master. How can I call you by name?"

**Rudra (laughing):**

> "Then I must be a scary master, huh? You're hilarious, Uncle Fei."

Fei smiled warmly. It had been two years since he last saw Rudra laugh like that.

---

### **A Mysterious Request**

**Rudra:**

> "Uncle Fei, I'll be leaving this evening. But I need your help gathering ingredients for a spiritual formation."

**Fei:**

> "Tell me, young master. I'll do anything you need."

**Rudra:**

> "I need a Tier-9 Beast, Light Phoenix and Shadow Wolf elemental stones… and their blood. And one **Spiritual Lotus**."

Fei was **stunned**.

> "You want materials from Tier-9 beasts at your age?!"

**Fei:**

> "I can try to find the Phoenix and Wolf stones… but I've never heard of a 'Spiritual Lotus.'"

Rudra pondered.

> "That knowledge came from ancient records. Maybe it doesn't exist anymore…"

**Rudra:**

> "It's a lotus with only spiritual power—not elemental. It has no affinity."

**Fei (suddenly understanding):**

> "You're talking about the **Energy Lotus.** It appears near the **Rainbow Lotus**, which only blooms once a year."

**Rudra:**

> "If I get the chance, I'll retrieve one myself. But make sure to return with the elemental stones within five years."

**Fei (laughing):**

> "Five years? I'll bring them in two. Finding those beasts is hard—but not impossible."

**Rudra:**

> "Be careful."

Fei handed him a glowing charm.

> "Break this badge if you're ever in danger. I'll come immediately."

**Rudra (bowing):**

> "Thank you, Uncle."

---

### **The Promise**

Later that day, Rudra visited his mother and told her he had mastered the Unicorn Dash. But something still lingered in his heart.

**Supra Yan:**

> "Rudra, is there something you want to ask?"

**Rudra:**

> "If I make a promise to someone… should I keep it, no matter what?"

Supra Yan's gaze turned distant.

She began a story:

> "Long ago, Brother Fan's ancestor was a Tier-13 Beast who took human form. He found his soulmate, but the world rejected him.

> He could've fought back—but chose peace.

> He came to the Kak Empire with his wife and asked the Emperor for shelter.

> The Emperor granted it—without a single question."

> "In return, he promised that he and his descendants would serve the empire for generations.

> Moved by his loyalty, the Emperor placed a hand on his shoulder and said:

> 'If you keep your promise… then you are one of us. You are family.'"

**Present Day**

Supra Yan smiled.

> "Even now, Brother Fan's family serves the empire.

> So Rudra—when you give your word… never break it."

---

### **Evening Departure**

Rudra and Naran left the empire and returned to the Medicine Hall Academy.

On the road—

**Rudra:**

> "Naran, did you notice any tattoo on Arie?"

**Naran:**

> "Yeah. I saw one on her neck. But most of it was hidden beneath her dress.

> Why are you asking?"

**Rudra:**

> "Did you see anything on her hand?"

**Naran:**

> "Nope. Nothing."

Rudra fell silent.

> *"It's clear now. She must be that girl… I have to know for sure."*

---

### **Meanwhile – Arie's Perspective**

Arie had joined the Medicine Hall Academy—starting in the **outer division**.

She sat alone beneath the moonlight, gazing at the stars.

> *"That boy… Rudra… there's something different about him."*

> *"When I first met him on Mist Mountain… my butterfly tattoo began to glow.

> And yesterday, that glow increased."*

> *"No one else can see it—but… he was looking right at it."*

She frowned slightly, thoughtful.

> *"Could it be… he can actually see it?"*
