Normally, adventurers didn't consider this place a battlefield.
Why?
Because the Food Storage was simply too far out of the way—reaching it took more time than descending two entire floors.
Instead of spending hours trekking out here to hunt, it was far more efficient to head down to the next level and defeat monsters with higher-quality magic stones.
That route was more profitable—and much faster.
More importantly...
If one made a single wrong move and ended up outnumbered, they would be overwhelmed by the endless waves of monsters from the Dungeon itself.
That being said—Raven Eltharion wasn't just any ordinary adventurer.
"Ten Blue Phoenix Butterfly wings, three Kobold fangs, four Poison Moth powder clumps…"
"And three chunks of Killer Ant carapace."
"Hm~~ not bad. I'd say the first request mission is more or less done."
Raven picked up all the magic stones and drop items scattered across the ground.
He stored them all in his [Storage Space].
Before leaving, he took one last glance back, admiring the breathtaking scenery.
The crystal light glowing from the tree was beautiful and pure.
The spring beneath it shimmered like moonlight, its quiet surface gently twinkling.
Bathed in soft green radiance, the entire scene looked almost tender.
Raven turned his head and calmly said, "Let's go—time for the Middle Floors."
No lingering sentiment.
On the return path, it only took about thirty minutes before they arrived at the stairs to the 8th floor.
Along the way, Raven didn't encounter any other adventurers.
His goal today was quite simple—he wanted to visit the 27th floor of the Lower Levels.
Six years ago—
A dark faction from Orario had deliberately triggered a massive monster surge on the 27th floor by committing mass suicide.
That event came to be known as the "Nightmare of Floor 27."
Filvis and her senior Familia members had rushed to the 27th floor in an effort to rescue other adventurers.
However, there—she encountered the embodiment of the Corrupted Spirit.
Filvis stood her ground against it, only to be killed in return.
Her entire Familia was wiped out on that very floor.
In the original story...
Jura of the former Rakia Familia exploited a loophole in the Dungeon's internal mechanics on the 27th floor.
He managed to summon the terrifying Lv. 7 monster—Amphisbaena!
If it weren't for the timely appearance of the Xenos girl Marie, the protagonist Bell Cranel would've died on the spot.
And that wasn't all.
The 27th floor was also home to a Lv. 5 floor boss—the Maze Sovereign, Amphisbaena.
However, the Guild reclassified it as a Lv. 6 monster due to the terrain advantage of fighting underwater.
In other words—
If Raven wanted to level up again in a single day… he had to defeat that very Lv. 6 boss: Amphisbaena!
And then earn his Great Achievement.
…
Raven and Alfia casually strolled down the stairs from the 9th floor.
They arrived at the 10th floor.
This level was covered in a thick white mist that severely reduced visibility.
The ceiling's light source was no longer bright like daylight—its glow was soft and hazy, like morning fog.
As they passed through the corridor, their view opened up into a wide chamber.
It was a large open room modeled like a grassy field, surrounded by eerie dead trees standing tall throughout.
In the distance, at the back of the area—
They encountered a party of adventurers locked in a desperate fight against a group of large-type monsters.
One of the adventurers had been seriously wounded—his thigh had been ripped open by an Ogre's claw.
Blood soaked his entire leg.
The team of six…
Raven frowned and narrowed his eyes.
—They were from the Takemikazuchi Familia.
Currently, only the captain, Sakura, was Lv. 2. The other five were still Lv. 1s.
Three of them were complete rookies who had only recently started adventuring.
Kazashima Sakura, title: Martial God's Disciple, stood 1.9 meters tall.
Chigusa Hitachi—in the original story, she later became a high-ranked adventurer with the title Twin-Winged Maiden. She served as the team's supporter.
As for the other two men and one woman—Raven didn't recognize them.
"Retreat, now!"
Captain Sakura carried the barely-conscious rookie on her back as she yelled at her teammates to fall back.
"Chigusa, move it!" cried Mikoto, gasping for breath as she swung her curved blade to cover the rear.
But with three or four dead weights in the party…
Sakura, even as a Lv. 2, was completely overwhelmed by a group of armed monsters.
Simply put, she couldn't carry them all through this mess—they were already in deep trouble.
The truth was—
Just because someone received a God's Blessing, it didn't mean they would grow stronger indefinitely.
Everything still depended on one's aptitude.
The ability to stand firm in front of monsters without faltering—mental strength—was a major factor too.
There were plenty of people who could defeat low-level monsters… but froze up in the face of stronger enemies.
That's why—not everyone could be like Raven, who possessed overwhelmingly terrifying potential.
…
Raven watched silently as the desperate group ran toward him.
Behind them, fifteen Orcs and twelve Ogres gave chase.
The Orcs stood over 3 meters tall, each wielding thick clubs made from dead trees.
The Weapon Vault of the Dungeon was one of its most annoying features—
Things like those withered trees growing out of the walls? They were natural armories for monsters.
"Don't reveal your identity. Let me handle this."
Raven recalled that Mikoto would one day become a member of his own Hestia Familia.
He didn't hesitate.
Raven chose to step in and help.
If someone helped others without power—that was called 'naïve.'
But if someone helped others because they had the power—
That was called being a hero.
"Got it." Alfia gave a small nod, then instantly vanished into the surrounding white mist.
"Gruh... gwaohhhhhhh!!"
"RAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!"
The Ogres and Orcs let out savage howls, charging after the fleeing adventurers.
Their bloodthirst—
Was enough to shake the very walls, as if they intended to wipe out every last one of them.
Raven shrugged, gripping his wand tightly, his fighting spirit igniting.
His eyes sharpened. He held his breath. And then began to chant in a bold, ringing tone.
"—O Great Flame King, by the name of our contract, I borrow your world-ending power."
With that fire-element chant, a massive orange-red magic circle instantly appeared above his head, standing upright like a blazing gate.
In his hand, the Thousand-Feather Wand gleamed with brilliant flames.
Its special effect was now triggered.
The wand granted Raven an extreme boost to magic power—
Making his spells even more destructive and effective.
"—Burn all evil to ash. Let the flames of light scorch the earth."
"—[Flamefeather Annihilation]!"
As his voice fell, Raven swung the wand forward.
In an instant, a barrage of flaming feathers launched from the magic circle.
Zwoosh zwoosh zwoosh…!!!
Countless fiery arrow-feathers streaked through the fog with piercing whistles.
—BOOM!
