Chapter 47 - Fireball!

Chapter 47

Hezra was breathing heavily, her beautiful eyes glistening with tears.

"Uncle... don't worry... I'm... fine..." But her voice faded with each word.

Her body began to shake, and her lips turned blue. The vital energy was draining out of her, leaving her body powerless against the poison. Hezra had recently reached the intermediate level in her use of vital energy, but these needles were not only draining her energy, they were destroying her very essence.

Boom!

"Fireball!" She moved to the side and cast the fireball spell [Red Ball Spell] and tried to reach Hezra to heal her. After all, her level was higher than Hezra's, and she could at least try to slow down the spread of the poison in her body before it spread further.

The silver mask crow laughed coldly as he backed away and dodged to the left to avoid the fireball I had thrown at him. "How do you like that, Lurman? Shadow needles from the Kingdom of Crothia, are designed to drain the vital essence from the air. No ordinary healing spell will save her, and with her level of magic, she won't be able to heal herself. Shouldn't you help her, Lurman? You who have reached the peak of the intermediate level and are approaching the advanced level? "

I ignored his words, but the pain in Hezra's eyes seemed unbearable. I couldn't do anything. My battle with the crow had reached its climax.

"I won't leave you!" I gritted my teeth and gathered the vital energy in my body to strike him again.

I threw my sword aside, clenched the vital in my fist, and directed a powerful energy toward the silver mask crow.

Knowing that it was a devastating attack from an intermediate-level magician, he retreated with astonishing speed and barely dodged the blow.

The silver mask crow dodged the attack with difficulty, and his robe was torn by the force behind the powerful attack.

"We'll continue this later, Lurman. Goodbye," muttered the silver mask crow as he retreated, running backwards and throwing a single red ball.

"Damn it!" I quickly retreated toward Ferma and Hezra and used Vital to generate a shield to protect us from the poisonous red needles, but this gave the silver mask crow a chance to escape from me, and I caught a glimpse of a box floating quickly from the side toward him.

I narrowed my eyes to see what was happening and saw small insects with shiny, translucent wings moving from the four sides of the box to lift it and move it behind the silver mask crow.

"Captain!"

Ferma's scream snapped me out of my distraction. I turned to see Hezra sitting on the ground, blood pouring from her mouth and her hands trembling.

"Hezra!" I shouted as I grabbed Hezra's hand tightly and began pumping all the vital energy inside me to support and heal her.

"Uncle... we didn't... get to go on our trip... together... yet..." Hazra whispered, her eyes staring into space. She had come a long way in her use of vital energy, but it wasn't enough.

I saw her soul, the essence of vital that glowed within her, slowly fading away. It looked like a candle being blown out by a gust of wind.

Now the poison was consuming her body, and my healing was useless because I had delayed the fight against the silver mask crow.

"Hezra..." Those were the only words I could say. I saw the life drain from her eyes, and her hand, which had been holding mine, went limp and fell powerlessly to the ground.

She was gone.

Hezra was dead.

I felt different emotions. Were these feelings I was feeling sadness at Hezra's death? Or was this anger towards my old enemy, the right hand of the person who had caused me these serious injuries to my face?

There were no tears in my eyes. Only anger towards my enemy, the silver mask crow.
