Chapter 1 - Axalon

In the year 863, on the southern plains of Britta Island, a magnificent new kingdom called Axalon was established. This newly formed kingdom was ruled by a tyrant king, named King Oswald I.

King Oswald I ruled the kingdom with an iron fist. He did not even hesitate to hunt down and execute anyone who dared to oppose him. He often said:

"Vita tua in manibus meis est"

Which means:

"Your life is in my hands"

King Oswald I lived in the Royal Palace of Axalon, named Andriana Palace, accompanied by his children, Osmund and Osnaria. Who the mother of these two children was remained a secret known only to the deepest shadows of the palace.

----------------------------------------------------------

In the year 880, the Kingdom of Axalon issued a declaration of war against the northern kingdom of Britta Island, the Kingdom of Skoland, led by King Alistair V of Scotland.

The Kingdom of Skoland is considered one of the most ancient and influential kingdoms in the northern plains of Britta Island.

With the signing of the declaration of war by King Oswald I and its acceptance by King Alistair V of Skoland, war was officially declared by the two great nations, and officially bound the fate of thousands of people.

----------------------------------------------------------

Axalon has a group of super elite royal knights known as "The Eight Swords." They are the eight elite knights of King Oswald I who are extremely formidable, whose prowess has even created fear and awe throughout Britta Island.

These eight knights are:

- Sir Orland - The Executioner

- Sir Burgam - The Sadist

- Sir Orslando - The Slave

- Lady Utopia - The Terror

- Lady Urslan - The Piercer

- Dino - The wrath

- Sir Plato - The Hermit Knight

- Sir Anor - The Sharp Archer

Their strength lies not only in their martial skills; they possess the ability to turn any enemy territory they invade into a hell of suffering.

It is for this reason that they are often referred to as the "Eight Knights of Hell."

Among the eight knights of The Eight Swords, Sir Plato is the leader and first member; he is also the mastermind behind all the massacres they commit.

During the ongoing war with the Kingdom of Skoland, one of The Eight Swords, Lady Utopia, led a lightning attack on a Skoland fortified city called William de Fort.

William de Fort's army, numbering ten thousand knights, was completely unable to withstand the ten thousand Axalon knights and five thousand of Utopia's undead troops, called "The Crafters." The Crafters were Utopia's signature undead troops, undead that she managed to create by manipulating spirits using dark magic on the corpses of fallen knights.

In just six hours, the city of William de Fort was reduced to a pile of ruins, its spirit of resistance slowly extinguished by Lady Utopia's relentless attacks.

The entire city was instantly engulfed by deep fear and despair, by a blanket of suffocating hopelessness, for all knew that death awaited them, regardless of gender or age.

Their desperate pleas and struggles were only met with the cold, heartless blades of the Axalon.

Among the ten thousand Axalon troops, there were many elite knights who felt extremely disgusted and refused to participate in the massacre carried out by Lady Utopia. One of them was Sir Guinere, who was an elite knight of Axalon.

----------------------------------------------------------

Sixteen hours ago.

Before the battle began, when Guinere was still in the knight's tent, he begged Lady Utopia not to carry out the massacre.

"Greetings, my name is Guinere. Lady, please forgive my impudence in begging you not to carry out the massacre in the enemy city. Please, let mercy guide your hand towards the women and children."

Guinere begged the Lady with a prostrate, which made his armor touch the rough floor of the tent. Guinere felt an overwhelming pressure while being in the same tent as the Lady and several Crafters, whose cold eyes seemed to pierce his soul.

Lady Utopia responded to Guinere's plea with her low, cold voice:

"Those who do not receive King Oswald's blessing are nothing but trash, deserving only of death. You are fortunate to have the king's blessing, for you are one of the kingdom's elite knights."

After hearing that, Guinere said "Forgive me, Lady, for my foolish plea. I ask permission to return to my tent. Glory to King Oswald!"

After saying that, Guinere rushed out of the tent, the feeling of terror still suffocating Guinere's heart.

Guinere entered his tent, filled with deep fear. So great his fear so that he did not dare to sleep, even though the next day was the day of the assault on William de Fort.

He spoke in his heart, a silent prayer against the coming dawn:

"O Lord, have mercy on the poor souls of William de Fort tomorrow. Today is the last day they enjoy life. O Lord, have mercy on me too, for I cannot persuade the Lady not to commit a massacre tomorrow. Amen."

On a bright morning, under a sky indifferent to the impending doom, the Axalon troops stood in formation, accompanied by their trebuchets.

A trumpet was sounded by the Axalon troops.

Hearing the trumpet, the trebuchet line ruthlessly hurled stones weighing one hundred kilograms; these stones without warning immediately hit the fort of William de Fort with incredible force.

The Skoland army responded to the rain of trebuchet stones with fire arrows, launched from large bows called ballistae.

These large arrows, launched from ballistae, with burning fire arrows and hit the trebuchets, not a few of them burned. The rows of trebuchets burned, sending black smoke billowing high into the sky.

Lady Utopia, on the other hand, ordered her Crafters to advance, while she herself prepared to summon powerful dark magic.

Guinere prepared with the other Axalon knights to form a shield wall and slowly advance.

Since the walls of William de Fort were surrounded by an artificial ravine, a direct assault using infantry was impossible.

It was for this reason that the Crafters advanced, stacking their bodies on top of each other to form a living ladder, through which the Axalon army could enter.

The Crafters were immune to arrow fire; allowing them to easily penetrate the rain of arrows.

Guinere and the other elite knights began to step on the bodies of the Crafters, entering the city of William de Fort and attacking the Skoland knights.

Lady Utopia had completed her preparations and immediately released a powerful energy that shook the air and sent a chilling fear into the hearts of the Skoland defenders. It was the magic for the creation of The Crafters that made them ferocious and bloodthirsty.

The Lady watched the entire massacre from behind a smiling porcelain mask, which made the cold aura radiate even more strongly.

Guinere and the elite knights, who were already inside the city, felt a deep disgust for all those bloodthirsty Crafters.

"Oh my God... What is this? They are all crazy... monsters!"

Thus spoke one of the elite knights who accompanied Guinere, with a tone of voice that was very frightened and full of disgust.

----------------------------------------------------------

Six hours passed.

The entire city fell silent, a suffocating silence enveloped the ruined streets, and only the Axalon army remained, which suffered minor losses, but with the addition of three thousand Crafters that increased their number to eight thousand.

Guinere and the other elite Axalon knights also felt a deep fear, a torturous fear that gripped them.

Guinere spoke, "Oh God, please have mercy on these poor souls. Amen,"

Lady Utopia entered through the main gate of William de Fort, her steps steady. Her cold smile was real, aided by the smiling motif of her porcelain mask

In a faint voice, the Lady spoke:

"Gloria Axalonis, mors Skolandi"
