Chapter 3 - The Awakening

It was a strange day, completely grey skies with no sunlight. Razor sharp wind blades tore through the landscape. The blades were powerful enough to level an entire kingdom. Amidst the storm stood an entity with glowing green eyes, staring straight ahead. The entity summoned a tornado so powerful, it broke the ground beneath it, the kingdom was turned into ruins and debris within seconds.

Luther jolted awake, his chest heaving, sweating and panicking as if something terrible had happened. His eyes darted around the room searching for the entity and the storm but fortunately they no longer existed. After a moment, he exhaled slowly, realizing it had only been a dream.

He rose from bed and began his morning routine—brushing his teeth, bathing and getting dressed in

his uniform. The comforting scent of breakfast pulled him toward the kitchen, where the familiar warmth of home awaited.

His father was already seated at the table, sipping his morning coffee, while his mother stood by the stove, humming softly as she prepared their meal. Today's breakfast was simple: a freshly baked croissant and a warm cup of coffee

As Luther sat down, he hesitated for a moment and then glanced at his mother.

"I had a strange dream", he said quietly.

She turned towards him with a gentle smile, patting him on his head, saying

"don't worry it's okay, you can sleep with me tonight"

It was a peaceful morning. Soft rays of sunlight slipped through the window, casting warm patterns across the wooden floor. Luther sat with his family, enjoying the calm of breakfast—steam rising from the food, gentle laughter filling the room. For a moment, everything felt perfect.

After finishing his meal, Luther's father set his cup down with a rare smile.

"I will train you today" he said "Let's go to the mountains"

Luther's heart felt heavy with joy, he was smiling uncontrollably . His father—usually buried in duties as a royal mage, rarely had time to spare. To be trained by him was an honor; it was a dream. Luther's eyes sparkled with anticipation as the two of them boarded the carriage.

The journey to the mountain passed in peaceful silence. The estate's land stretched far, and the mountain they arrived at was part of the Heart family's private grounds. The area was breathtaking.

Water flowed gently over smooth stones, The land was mostly flat with the exception of one enormous tree—ancient and sprawling. Its branches spread wide like arms, one could sleep all day and could have endless conversations under that tree.

Luther and his father sat under the tree, and for a moment, neither spoke. Then Luther's father turned to him.

"Focus on the Celestra star, observe the mana flowing inside your body try to boost it" he said

Luther tried several times, try after try, he started feeling the mana inside his body, it was overflowing— wanting to come out, he felt powerful. Luther's father took him near a cliff, Luther was excited

"What spell will my father teach?" he thought to himself

The thought didn't last for long, as his father placed his hand on Luther's shoulder… and pushed him off….

Luther screamed, The wind roared in his ears, the ground rushed upward, and death loomed like a shadow ready to claim him. He panicked— his body trembling, sweating uncontrollably, he was screaming for help, begging for his life, but no one would listen to him….

Just as he would hit the ground, suddenly an abrupt amount of mana erupted, leaves surrounded Luther and landed him safely, an entity with green eyes, long green hair wearing a golden crown, wearing a green frock on it's pale skin appeared, it was none other than Slyvarra—The wind spirit

Luther had unknowingly awakened his spirit.

"O' Chosen one, what is your name?" it asked in a feminine echoing voice

"Luther— Luther Heart" he said nervously

The next moment, His father lifted him gently back to the cliff with his magic, Luther landed on his feet breathless.

"DAD! I COULD HAVE DIED!" he shouted with an annoyed face.

"Hahahaha, it was for your own good son." he laughed and greeted the wind spirit.

Luther and his father sat under the tree,

"Son, what do you want to become when you grow up?" he asked in a low and gentle voice.

"I want to become like you dad I - I want to become strong and protect my mom and my family"

"That's my son"

There was silence,

"Son strength lies not in power, but in the will to protect others" he said in a calm voice

"Your mom was kidnapped once, if I did not have the will, she wouldn't be here"

I listened to his words carefully, not uttering a word. My father was very kind, playful, but today this sudden change shook me. My only dream was to become strong enough so that I can protect my loved ones,

I swore to myself that I will protect….

Time had passed by, Luther was asleep under the tree.

"Son no matter how dark the world becomes… promise me you will never let that darkness take root in you"

"I just want you to not become like me and serve the kingdom"

"The world is cruel son, I don't want you to be cruel either"

"There are a lot of things I want to talk about, but you are not old enough"

I did not see what time it was, or how long it had been, I had fallen asleep under the tree.

"You finally awake?"

"Yeah" I saw my father reading a book

"Let's go back" he said….
