Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: The Birthday Party

The small platinum object hit Nathaniel Fu square in the face before dropping to the carpet with a dull thud.

He froze."…"

Celia turned on her heels and left.

Mr. Song stood to the side, his expression utterly stunned. His mouth twitched as he looked toward the door she had just stormed out of.

Did she really just hit the CEO in the face… with a condom?

That was… bold. Too bold.

No woman had ever dared to do something like that to Mr. Fu before. This had to be a first.

Live long enough, and you'll see anything.

Just then, he felt a chill crawl up his spine. Slowly turning his head, he met the icy gaze of his CEO.

Beads of cold sweat broke out on Mr. Song's forehead.

"Sir, I… should I give you some privacy?"

"...Get out."

Celia walked along the street, her phone in hand. She noticed several missed calls from Sylvia—it was probably to remind her to come home for the party and witness her so-called "moment of glory."

She clenched her phone tightly.

She still didn't understand why Nathaniel had forced himself on her the night before. Was it just to humiliate her?

But didn't he love Sylvia?

Why would he demean her like that?

Shaking off the endless questions swirling in her mind, Celia hailed a taxi and returned to the Su family estate.

The Su residence was decked out in lights and celebration. A grand birthday party was in full swing. Because of the "Emperor Star" project, many of Yecheng's elite families had shown up in person.

Charles Su stood at the center of it all, surrounded by business executives who toasted him enthusiastically.

"Mr. Su, I heard your younger daughter is dating some mysterious billionaire. The first move was the Emperor Star deal—we're all green with envy!"

"Mr. Su, where's your son-in-law? We're all dying to meet the man of the hour!"

Meanwhile, Lillian and Sylvia were also surrounded by a group of high-society ladies. The sparkling Emperor Star necklace around Sylvia's neck caught the light and dazzled everyone in the room.

"Wow, Sylvia—is that the Emperor Star? It's stunning!"

"Sylvia, don't forget us now that you're dating someone so powerful. Tomorrow let's go out for tea and hit the spa together!"

Sylvia basked in the praise. These women used to look down on the Su family—and her. Now, they were all fawning over her.

"I might not have time tomorrow," she said smugly. "My boyfriend's very clingy. I'll have to keep him company."

"That's fine, Sylvia. We'll wait until you're free."

Sylvia was clearly enjoying the attention.

That's when she spotted Celia entering the venue.

Lillian immediately walked over with a scowl. "Celia, why are you here? Didn't I tell you to stay away? Do you want the whole world to see the Su family's clown daughter who came back from the countryside?"

"Mom, I invited her," Sylvia interjected, swaying over in her designer heels. "Celia, I wanted you to see for yourself what it looks like when I stand beside Nathaniel Fu. Try not to get too jealous."

Celia's expression remained neutral. She said nothing.

Just then, Charles Su approached. "Sylvia, have you called Mr. Fu? The party's been going for a while and everyone's waiting. Why hasn't he arrived?"

"I called earlier, Dad. He must be busy," Sylvia said as she tried dialing again.

Celia stood off to the side, watching quietly. If only Sylvia knew that Nathaniel hadn't been "busy" earlier—but had instead been lying in bed, with his arms wrapped around her—she'd probably explode.

Still, the call didn't go through.

A flicker of unease crept into Sylvia's heart. Was Nathaniel really not coming?

The Su family had pulled out all the stops. If he didn't show up now, how would they explain it?

Suddenly, a wave of excitement rippled through the crowd.

"He's here! He's coming!" someone exclaimed. "Sylvia—your rich boyfriend is here!"

Sylvia's eyes lit up instantly.Nathaniel Fu had arrived.
