Cherreads

Chapter 55 - 55. This is your dinner

Rudolf finally returned to Leman Town and the police station.

In the cafeteria of the police station, Rudolf picked at the empty plate and asked the policewoman Kelita across from him:

"Kelita, this is the dessert, I've finished it, where is the main course? Why is it not served yet?"

A thin and transparent piece of bread, no more than 10 beans, and three slices of small and round grilled sausages that were less than half a centimeter thick. Rudolf didn't even taste them before they went into his stomach.

  Kelita's eyes widened:

"Main course? This is your main course!

The price of grain has suddenly risen. It is said that the autumn harvest may be poor. The logistics department means to avoid this wave of grain price increases first, and then buy wheat flour when the price is more rational.

The chef has no wheat flour, so it's good to be able to make so much food."

"What? Is it so serious?" Rudolf was a little unbelievable. He went to the window again and persuaded him to order two more slices of bread.

"Such a thin bread, is the chef showing off his knife skills to us..."

After eating two slices of bread, Rudolph was still very hungry. He turned to look at Ichabod and Kevin beside him:

"Oh, I'm very sorry, two witch hunters, we can't give you anything decent to treat you. The werewolves have been too rampant recently, and there is a shortage of grain in Leman."

Ichabod said: "I didn't expect the werewolf riot in Leman to be so serious that even eating was affected. We will set out today to investigate the werewolf riot."

The Queen of Darkness has now completely lost the clues. Ichabod and Kevin came to Leman to investigate the werewolf riot for the Judiciary.

"Then I'll trouble you two. I will let Sam represent the police station to provide convenience for you."

Rudolph didn't want to accompany the two witch hunters anymore, so after discussing with Sheriff Claude, he asked Sam to accompany the two witch hunters throughout the whole process.

Sam had already finished his pitiful breakfast and said very positively:

"Mr. Ichabod, Mr. Kevin, if you have any needs, you can tell me. Captain Rudolph will help me if I can't solve it. Sheriff Claude will also come forward if the captain can't solve it."

After the few people left, Yvonne entered the restaurant.

Yvonne sat opposite Rudolph and ate her little food.

"Yvonne, from now on, we must avoid the witch hunters, the two people just now, one tall and one thin."

  "Okay."

"This is the last time I come to eat breakfast at this time. We will come later in the future."

In the morning, Rudolph came to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff Claude was very happy to see Rudolph: "Rudolph, you've been gone for almost ten days, isn't Fabro very prosperous? Are you so wild that you don't want to come back?"

"Sheriff, I miss the police station all the time. Fabro is not fun at all. Leman is better. It's my forever home."

"Your forever home is in big trouble now. There is something you need to investigate."

  "What is it?"

"I think you have seen the breakfast at the police station.

In the town, rumors about grain shortages are flying everywhere.

There is a big problem with grain in Leman. The mayor has sent people to Fabro to transfer grain. Regarding the grain shortage, we also need to issue an investigation report."

  "I see."

Rudolph took the police order and prepared to see what was going on.

After leaving the police station, Yvonne looked at the police order: "Captain, where do we start the investigation?"

"Grain prices have skyrocketed. Of course, we should start the investigation from the source and go directly to the largest farmers."

Half an hour later, Rudolph and Yvonne came to Sir Jennifer's castle.

Sir Jennifer, who owns 5 large farms, is the undisputed number one landlord in Leman Town.

"Rudolph, have you agreed to be my cavalry captain?"

Jennifer was a little excited when she saw Rudolph.

"Sorry, Sir Jennifer, I am very satisfied with my current job and have no plans to be a cavalry captain for the time being."

Jennifer showed a disappointed look on her face.

Rudolph saw Jennifer doing knight training, practicing the combination of broadsword and shield.

Drops of sweat dripped from her chin and fell on her bulging chest. The sweat soaked her white clothes, changing the color of the clothes, and it also stuck tightly to her ravines and peaks.

"So, Rudolph, what are you doing here?"

"Sir, the price of grain in Leman Town has skyrocketed, almost doubled. Not only has the price increased, but the quantity has also decreased a lot.

As the knight with the most farms, I want to come and see what happened."

Jennifer handed the broadsword and shield to the cavalry next to her.

She is still a knight's squire, not even a knight. The royal succession law ensures that Jennifer can smoothly inherit the title and continue to control the huge wealth. However, she is more interested in knights. The food issue has always been handled by others.

"I know this, but I don't have a good solution for the time being." Jennifer said:

"Let's go, I'll take you to see the agronomy expert I hired. She is helping me solve the problem. If your police station has any good ideas, please bring them out as soon as possible."

While walking, Jennifer still didn't give up and asked again:

"Rudolph, are you sure you don't want to consider becoming my cavalry captain?"

"Sir Jennifer, Sheriff Claude is okay with me. I don't plan to change my career for the time being."

  They entered a glass greenhouse.

At this time, some tomatoes were planted in the greenhouse, and a tall and thin woman in a gown was busy.

Jennifer stood in front of the tomato seedlings: "Rudolph, it's not that farmers like me are hoarding grains on purpose. It's just that the harvest forecast for this year is very poor, and there are pests in the farmland, a deadly aphid."

  "Pests?"

Rudolph has been a little sensitive to insects recently, so he was a little wary when he heard about insects.

"This is my newly hired agronomist and plant expert, Ms. Jessica, she is helping me deal with the aphid pests."

Rudolph saw a tall and thin woman wearing a pair of big black-framed glasses. She was wearing a white coat and was doing experiments on aphids in a petri dish.

Whether it was on the tomato seedlings or in the petri dish, there were a lot of aphids.

"Ms. Jessica, this is the patrolman of the police station, Rudolph."

Jessica turned her head, and after seeing Rudolph, she raised her hand to adjust her black-framed glasses:

"Patrolman Rudolph... It's our first meeting, and I'm glad to meet you."

Her eyes looked at Rudolph's face curiously through the lenses.

After Jennifer introduced the two to each other, she was about to leave: "Okay, I should go now. Rudolph, I need to find an opportunity to break through the knight. You can talk to my housekeeper about anything. Regarding the pests, Ms. Jessica is mainly responsible."

Jennifer left, and Jessica stepped forward and stretched out her hand: "Jessica, an agronomist and botanist."

Rudolph also stretched out his hand:

"Rudolph, a patrolman in Leman Town."
