Chapter 48 - 48. Small Fish and Shrimp

The doctor of the police station is treating Chief Inspector Zapudi.

The battle is almost over, and Rudolph walked towards the place where the seized items were placed.

The neat arrangement of the seized items can increase the sense of accomplishment of the police station. This is a visible result and it greatly boosts morale.

There is a box of money, most of which are silver shields, and there are also some gold shields.

Guns and swords are also neatly placed on the ground. There are also bullets, which are arranged in several rows and occupy many floor tiles.

Rudolph stood next to a box without moving.

This... Isn't this the 20 tubes of wolfsbane potion that Rudolph just sold?

  Who bought it?

Black Soldier X, Rudolph only remembers a code name. The person holding the black "soldier" chess piece, serial number X.

If nothing unexpected happens, that person should have had an accident.

A cough was heard behind him.

Rudolph turned around and found that Chief Inspector Zapudi was coming.

"Why, patrolman from Leman, are these wolfsbane potions more attractive than those silver shields?"

Rudolph replied calmly: "There have been too many werewolf attacks recently, and we in Leman are in great need of wolfsbane potions."

Chief Zapdi nodded, and he turned to a police officer and said:

"Register these wolfsbane potions, I will make the decision and grant them to patrolman Rudolph from Leman as an overtime reward for patrolman Rudolph.

Patrolman Rudolph came to Fabro City and participated in our operation, and our city police department must also express our appreciation."

Rudolph's eyebrows jumped. What does this mean? Was it sold for nothing? Did the wolfsbane potion return to his hands?

Rudolph thought of the 270 silver shields in his wallet, and it didn't seem to be sold for nothing.

Oh, Rudolph thought of a more accurate word, laundered.

After a while, a police officer closed the box and handed it to Rudolph.

Rudolph felt that he had made 270 silver shields for nothing. The poor "Black Soldier X" lost his life, his money, and the potion was returned to Rudolph.

"Sheriff Zapudi, I'm curious about what the Black Gold Office looks like. Can I go in and take a look?"

Upon hearing this, Sheriff Zapudi looked inside the Black Gold Office and found that the battle was over, so he issued a pass for Rudolph to enter the Black Gold Office.

The Black Gold Office is now surrounded by a cordon, but this time, there is no need to pay a guide fee to enter the Black Gold Office.

The giant is dead. Even if he lies on the ground, his chest to his back is about 1 meter thick, and he is very big.

Rudolph passed by the giant's body, but he didn't dare to collect the remains. If he found them, he would be beaten to death.

He entered the Black Gold Office through the hole left by the giant.

This should have been an inn before. There was a big staircase going straight up to the second-floor platform. The second-floor platform was a yard, and then you could enter the inn from the second-floor platform.

The first floor of the inn was a utility room and basement on the surface, but it was actually used by the Black Gold Office.

After entering the Black Gold Office, Rudolf looked around the scene like an ordinary patrolman.

The witch hunters' actions were very violent. They destroyed the load-bearing walls and columns of the house. In a few days, the inn above will find that there will be many cracks on their walls.

The closer to the previous trading hall, the more bodies there are.

Some people did not wear masks and died openly.

Some people wore masks, but the masks had been taken off by the patrolmen who handled the scene and put aside.

Rudolf focused on observing the chess pieces in their hands.

Unfortunately, he only saw the "soldier" chess pieces, those big flags, chariots, horses, elephants, queens, and kings, none of them.

Rudolf concluded the operation: it was a big deal, and killed a bunch of small fish and shrimp.

Perhaps the only thing of some value was the level 2 giant outside.

Rudolf used a mouse to observe the surroundings, and after confirming that there was no situation, he secretly picked up a chess piece, the black soldier K.

The Black Gold Office was in a mess, so it wouldn't be too much to throw something away...

As for the possible loopholes, let the people in the city police station worry about it.

Rudolf put away the chess piece of the black soldier K. He would return the chess piece he got from the casino owner, Kashino, the black soldier N, to him, and keep the black soldier K for himself.

Judging from the strength of the guide wizard and the black queen, the Black Gold Office is stronger than imagined. This attack will not destroy the Black Gold Office, and the Black Gold Office will reopen soon.

Two witch hunters in black cloaks walked over in the distance. Rudolf turned around and squatted down, pretending to observe the corpse on the ground.

His heartbeat quickened, but he couldn't help holding his breath.

No one taught Rudolph how to deceive witch hunters and witch examiners, and Rudolph didn't know how they could distinguish wizards. He was eager to have a chance to understand witch hunters.

According to the information Rudolph got from Sheriff Claude, if they were not seen using their abilities, many apostles could hide in the crowd as ordinary people and would be difficult to be discovered.

Two witch hunters walked past Rudolph without any change in their pace, which made Rudolph feel relieved.

He stood up and entered the trading hall from the aisle.

There were fewer bodies here, and the people inside fled outside at the first opportunity.

Rudolph came to the room where his wolfsbane potion had just been taken away, and found that there were no bodies of the staff he had seen.

The waiter, the person who inspected the goods, and the host in a tuxedo were all missing.

When Rudolph walked out of the Black Gold Office, he found that the Fabro City Police Station was holding an impromptu on-site meeting.

A police inspector who looked like a high-ranking official was speaking:

"Sheriff Zapudi found out the traitors in the police station and the traitors who tipped off the Black Gold Bureau, so we were able to take the initiative.

Tonight, we finally destroyed the Black Gold Bureau in Fabro City, suppressed the arrogance of the heretic apostles, and killed more than 20 heretic apostles.

  ..."

Rudolph recalled what happened in the trading hall. The person who offered a high reward to Sheriff Zapudi was Black Elephant F.

Black Elephant F might have a special relationship with the Black Gold Bureau, or he might have something to do with the traitor.

Just as Rudolph was about to leave, Sheriff Zapudi approached Rudolph.

"Patrolman Rudolph, come to the police station tomorrow and I will help you with the matters of your Leman Town Police Station. What did you say was the matter?"

"Thank you so much. Sheriff Claude asked me to submit an investigation report on the werewolf riot. Several level 2 werewolves appeared in Leman Town, and Sir Jacques died at the hands of a level 2 werewolf."

"Oh... this is indeed serious. Come to me tomorrow."

  "Okay."

  Rudolph walked towards the inn.

He opened his pocket watch from time to time to make sure that no one was following him.

The anti-tracking function of the pet crystal has never let Rudolph down.

The door of the inn opened, and the wind chimes rang again. Just like in the afternoon, Rudolph entered the inn carrying a box. Nothing unusual was found at the front desk of the inn.
