"Sigh" the bearded man sighed and caused the sword in his hand to disappear as he stood up from his fighting position and walking towards Enzo.
"He's barely even a weaver, what kind of shitty build is this?" the bearded man sneered as he inspected Enzo. The kids build was just a little better than an Average humans. If he didn't know better he would think it was his real body.
"He's not here to help us fight, he's just filling a quota, back off Daniel" as the bearded man evaluated Enzo, a voice resounded from the weapon store behind him. There a young lady with long silver hair stepped out.
"Hmp!! Okay, I was just saying" the bearded man called Daniel stood up and shrugged his shoulders. He didn't really care. Half of this team wouldn't be of much use anyway.
"I'm called Icebreaker, that's not my real name of course but my Weaver Call sign, you'll have the right to get one when you advance...sorry 'if' you advance. This trip won't be too tasking, most of you are here to fill the quota after all. Some more than others"
"So just listen to my commands and when you're ready to leave the group let me know" the lady with silver hair, and leader of the mining group said glancing at the group of 8 before finally landing on Enzo.
"Try to keep your head, they'll be a lot of fighting in there" without wasting time she turned to the entrance and walked forward as behind her, two others tightly followed.
"What are you guys waiting for? Let's go" Daniel called forth following behind icebreaker.
As soon as they entered the mine entrance, a stench of blood filled the air, then subtle tuds on the walls assaulted Enzo's ear an indication of mining….or fighting.
The mines were a brutal place to be in, Enzo frequented the finor mine a lot so he understood. However the scale of Yuno mine and the fights that would happen here are things he could only leave to imagination.
"Keep close and don't get greedy," Eliza(icebreaker) said walking forward deeper into the dark mine.
"Hey, kid. Check this out" as they moved slowly through the mine, their heads ducked and on high alert, a man with green luminescent skin appeared beside Enzo and raised his hand.
Before Enzo's eyes, the man's arm faded from his perview replaced by a blade made from pure light.
"What do you think? Cool right?" The man said with a smile.
He saw how stunned Enzo was when he saw Daniel's skill 30 minutes ago. The kid clearly hadn't seen a lot of things like these so he decided to wow him.
"Yes, it's really cool!!" Enzo's eyes beamed.
He had been weaving for a while now, but he had only encountered a skill once, these things were exceedingly rare. Only a minute few could have them.
Skills allowed for human weavers to use extraordinary abilities, some increased physical strength to an inhuman degree, other much more engimatic skills could do crazier things like fly or mind reading, they were borderline magical.
"Haha I knew you'd love it. Cost me an arm and a leg…literally!!" The man laughed loudly drawing the attention of the others in the group.
Ignoring their stares, the man looked back at Enzo and said, "stick with us kid. If you want to see some real skill"
He patted Enzo on the back striking up a conversation. In that short conversation, they spoke of why Enzo was here, how much experience he had and where he came from. The discussion was straight to the point and quite intriguing.
"Wow, who would have thought that the old rock would still be floating around…" the man with green skin commented with a bitter smile.
Enzo was from prime earth.
That desolate place, fraught with nuclear redation and atmospheric degradation. He had no idea that place was still standing.
"Yeah, it's barely surviving though" Enzo smiled. The humans that left early were doing much better than those still on earth.
It was just how things were, and that was one of the reasons he was doing what he was doing. He just needed to catch a break make enough money get treatment for his father before leaving earth.
A better live.
That was what he truly wanted.
"We are at the entrance to the second level, if you're not interested in going down then you can turn back now" Eliza's voice suddenly sounded her eyes drifted to the back of the group signalling two members to come forward with massive lanterns.
"I guess this is my stop" Enzo smiled waving at the man with green skin as he picked up his pick Ax and dropped the bag he was carrying for them previously.
"Ahh, so soon? Come on kid, where's the spark in you? You'll never make it out of earth with that attitude" The man with green skin suddenly said smacking Enzo on the back.
Leaving earth was no easy task, the amount of money he would need to spend would be astronomical. A few zyrian crystals couldn't come close to the cost.
"Tell you what? Come down with us and I'll throw in this compressed space necklace. It'll help you store some personal items without your employer knowing" The man with green skin spoke.
Weaving to different planets on the bequest of people and angcies with weaving pods was the most common and lucrative way to make money in this day and age. But depending on whom one was working for and one's qualifications they could either make money.
Or be given just enough to survive.
For him, going private was on the fine line of working honestly and cheating whoever he worked for. Those years ago he would do extra work and stuff it in this here necklace before selling them off. It helped him a lot and seeing Enzo in the same predicament.
He couldn't help but feel the need to help.
"Ahh," as the necklace touch his hand, Enzo frowned deeply. Then slowly beamed. This was a high-end contraption that allowed him to hide things within indefinitely and couldn't be accessed by anyone else.
