Synopsis
Thrown into the chaotic and cosmic world of Marvel — a blend of the MCU and comic lore — a young man dies unexpectedly and is reborn as Fylgja Odinson, the god of souls, magic, and judgment. Now the twin brother of Hela and son of Odin and Frigga, Fylgja must navigate the divine politics of Asgard, survive the conquests of the early Nine Realms, and prepare for the terrifying events the Marvel multiverse has in store. Armed with powerful abilities, ancient knowledge, and a deep connection to the souls of all living beings, Fylgja isn’t here to follow canon — he's here to rewrite fate. This story is my first real attempt at writing something long-form on this site. It’s a side project, and there will be mistakes — but I’m doing this to grow and improve. I welcome all feedback and constructive criticism. So if you're into Marvel gods, reincarnation plots, and custom characters shaking up canon, then welcome aboard.

Chapter 1 - Chapter One: A New Beginning

General POV

In a bustling city, people rushed across the streets, conversations buzzing with secrets, ambitions, and hidden agendas — most of which would never see the light of day.

Among the crowd, we find our main character.

A young boy whose life hadn't truly begun, unaware of the path destiny had never intended for him. And he would never find out.

Because as he stepped into the street—

Boom.

A truck, seemingly from nowhere, slammed into him.

No warning.

No time to react.

No hope.

At just fifteen, his life ended in a flash.

Unknown POV

"What just happened?" I muttered, to no one in particular. Just moments ago, I was walking to the store. Now... now I'm floating in a black void.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" I called out. No response — only silence. Endless, suffocating silence. I drifted aimlessly, through what felt like a river made of nothing.

Time Skip

I have no idea how long I've been here. Time means nothing in this place. There's no sky, no ground — only the endless dark and the pull of something I can't explain.

Just as I was beginning to lose hope, I felt it.

A presence. Something massive. Ancient. Realer than anything else in this void.

And before me, something... formed.

??? – "Hello, little one," a voice echoed. It didn't sound like words. More like the idea of a voice, vibrating through the nothing.

"Um… hello?" I asked hesitantly. "Can you tell me where I am?" I looked around, though I had long since accepted I no longer had a body.

??? – "You are in the Void. The Blank Area. The Source Wall. It has many names, but it is the space outside creation — where time, feeling, and form have no meaning."

A shiver ran down my nonexistent spine.

"So... I'm not supposed to be here, am I?" I asked, dread creeping into my voice.

??? – "No. Your presence here is an anomaly I cannot fully explain," the being admitted. "But do not fear. I won't erase you. In fact... I offer you a gift: three wishes, and the chance to be reborn into a world of your choosing."

Relief and disbelief washed over me. "Wait... really? What can I wish for?"

??? – "Anything within reason. Powers, abilities, items, knowledge. But no wishing for more wishes — understand?"

"Got it," I said, thinking carefully. "For my first wish… I want to be born as a god."

The being tilted its... presence? I wasn't sure it even had a face.

??? – "What kind of god? Existing or original?"

That surprised me. "You're giving me help?"

??? – "This is the only time. After this, I will grant what you ask, exactly as spoken."

"Fair enough," I nodded. "I want to be born as the God of Souls, Magic, and Judgment. My name will be Fylgja Odinson — son of Odin."

??? – "An interesting choice. Very well. A Norse god, son of Odin, master of judgment, soul, and magic. Granted. Your second wish?"

"For my second wish," I said with confidence, "I want a unique form of soul magic. One that allows me to manipulate souls directly and view their entire life story."

??? – "Granted. And your final wish?"

"Actually… before that, can you tell me what world I'll be going to?"

??? – "You will be reincarnated into a version of the Marvel Universe — a fusion of the MCU and its comic origins."

My stomach dropped. I hadn't expected that. Marvel was no playground. Sure, there were worse universes... but few were as chaotic and dangerous.

After taking a long moment to think, I finally answered, "Then for my third wish, I want a personal dimension. A realm tied directly to me, like Odin's connection to the Odinforce — a place that will grow with me and reflect my power."

??? – "A wise wish. It shall be granted. You will be born alongside Hela — your new twin sister. Oh, and one more thing…"

Here it comes.

??? – "I'll integrate you into the Marvel timeline itself. There will be variants of you across the multiverse, which will prevent cosmic entities like the Living Tribunal from seeing you as an anomaly."

That... was actually a huge relief.

??? – "And now, with your wishes granted, I send you off to begin anew."

A blinding light enveloped me — warm, powerful, and full of promise.

This time… I will live a life worthy of legend.
