Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Fu Ye’s scent is nice…

When Chen Xin came to his senses, he studied Fu Ye—the young man who had invited him to drink—with curiosity.

It was hard to believe that a boy who looked no older than sixteen or seventeen could possess such terrifying strength.

"Whoa!"

With a casual wave of Fu Ye's hand, a pile of aged wine jars materialized at their feet.

Chen Xin's eyes gleamed at the sight. Just by the craftsmanship of the earthenware, he could tell—these were treasures buried for over a century!

"Oh!"

Fu Ye grabbed a jar and pried open the seal. As soon as the Thousand-Year Soul Wine was uncorked, an intoxicating aroma flooded the entire Juxiang Pavilion.

"Hah! Now this is worthy of being my treasure—the taste is exceptional!"

Fu Ye shamelessly claimed the system's freebies as his own. Meanwhile, Chen Xin's eyes sparkled after inhaling the fragrance.

'Soul Wine! And not just any—this had to be a rare century-aged spirit brew!'

"It smells amazing… I want to drink too."

(。♥‿♥。)

Ah Yin plopped herself beside Fu Ye, her ice-blue eyes shimmering with longing for the Thousand-Year Soul Wine.

"No. You're not even eighteen yet—no drinking."

( ̄ヘ ̄)

A little Soul Emperor like her had no business indulging in thousand-year-old soul wine.

"Brother Chen Xin, let's drink. Since you stepped in to help Juxiang Pavilion today, consider this my way of making friends."

With another flick of his hand, thirty jars of Thousand-Year Soul Wine popped open simultaneously. The rich scent carried for miles, rousing the gluttony of every drunkard in the vicinity.

"Gulp, gulp."

After downing an entire jar, warmth spread through Fu Ye's body. Though the wine had no real effect on him, as the saying went: "As long as it's consumed, it's not a waste."

Chen Xin, never one to stand on ceremony, matched Fu Ye's enthusiasm. 'If he's offering, why hesitate? A real man drinks when he pleases!'

Meanwhile, Ah Yin—cheeks puffed in frustration—watched as Fu Ye denied her the good stuff.

'Fine. If he won't share, I'd help myself.'

Silently, she summoned her Blue Silver Emperor and stealthily dipped its vines into two jars at the back.

After sipping the "sweet water," a blissful smile curled on her lips—though she didn't notice the growing dizziness in her head.

Neither Fu Ye nor Chen Xin used soul power to dispel the alcohol. At their level, staying sober was effortless—but the weightless, carefree haze of drunkenness was something they savored.

They drank late into the night, finishing fourteen jars between them.

Yet, Fu Ye frowned in confusion. 'Didn't we only drink fourteen? Why are two more empty?'

Too dazed to dwell on it, he chalked it up to drunken forgetfulness.

After using soul power to clear some of the fog in his mind, he settled Chen Xin in a guest room—leaving him with a small gift (a system-bestowed enlightenment opportunity).

Then, he carried Ah Yin to the top-floor suite he'd built—a modern-style residence with three bedrooms, a living room, and a spacious balcony.

After tucking the already-asleep girl into the second bedroom, Fu Ye retreated to his own.

It wasn't that he was a gentleman—he just refused to take advantage of someone's drunken vulnerability. Stealing innocence in such a state? That was the lowest of the low.

Lying in bed, Fu Ye exhaled deeply.

At first, invincibility had thrilled him. But now, he recognized the hollowness it brought. He needed something—no, someone—to fill that void.

And so, his next goal was set: conquer every beauty in the Douluo World with sheer charm!

After all, his system could lock their affection—never to wane.

'Alright. Let's do this!'

Deep in the night, Fu Ye's door creaked open.

Ah Yin, clad in a blue-gold dress, tiptoed in—her steps light atop a carpet of Blue Silver Emperor vines. Her cheeks were flushed, eyes hazy with lingering intoxication.

"Mmm… Fu Ye's scent is nice…"

Still asleep, Fu Ye instinctively pulled the warmth in his arms closer, a faint smile gracing his lips.

Meanwhile, in the guest room, Chen Xin had entered enlightenment—a rare state where soul masters grasped the essence of their cultivation and martial souls.

Legends said: "Ten years without bottlenecks follow a single enlightenment."

It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Interference now could cripple his future progress—or worse, regress his strength entirely.

At dawn, sunlight spilled into the room.

Fu Ye stirred, stretching lazily. 'Last night's sleep was amazing—best in a long while.'

Except for that weird sleep paralysis sensation…

Yawning, he snuggled deeper into the soft warmth beside him—

'Wait.'

'Didn't I sleep alone?'

His golden eyes snapped open.

Blinking away drowsiness, his vision sharpened on the figure nestled against him—

(⊙_⊙)

'Ah Yin?!'

'How did she—?! I put her in the second bedroom!'

As he scrambled to recall last night's events, Ah Yin stirred. Rubbing her eyes, she peered up at him with sleepy, ice-blue irises.

"Fu Ye… let's sleep a bit longer…"

Then, as if nothing were amiss, she nuzzled closer—and Fu Ye's entire body locked up.
