Chapter 3 - Betrayal

Iris's POV

My body stiffened, every muscle locking in place as my eyes landed on the scene before me. Liora laid on the bed while the triplets surrounded her, touching her in every part of her body that made her feel like a woman. The sight only made Lyra sneer in disgust and in rage in my head, as if threatening to come out, the urge to walk straight to them and confront them about their ill disgusting attitude, betrayal and actions towards me but I stopped her. I couldn't take a step. In my past life, I've always wanted this experience. I have always loved them deeply ever since I was a child and always admired to be their mate someday. That was one of my fantasies that will never come through because they always reminded me I was beneath them.

Not knowing whether to go back, I am still clutching the cleaning rag, broom and mop I'd brought, and my feet felt rooted to the floor, unable to retreat from the overwhelming disgust washing over me even though I craved so much to leave. I wanted to look away, to erase the image of their hands roaming her body, but my eyes betrayed me, still focused on the scene and I couldn't stop myself.

Shortly, my wolf, Lyra, stirred within me, her presence a low, furious voice in my mind as she cursed the triplet, calling them "betrayers," she growled, her voice sharp and relenting. "They know your feelings for them but they worship her like she's a goddess." Lyra's anger mirrored mine, but it was laced with nonchancy that made my chest tighten and the memories with the triplets of my past life flooded back.

In my previous life, while being the alpha's daughter, the pride of the Blackbane Pack. The triplets, Cade, Kael, and Zane were my constant crush while we grew up. I was always attracted to them, Cade, with his fiery temper and quick wit, would hurt me endlessly with his words and would gang with his brothers as they watched me cry. Kael, the quiet one, always watched me with those piercing eyes on every corner I went to. And Zane, always the pleaser. Doing whatever his brothers does to me. And back then in college, they never ceased to make me jealous. Roaming around other girls and not me. Despite being treated badly by them, I couldn't see myself hating them and I didn't know why I always get this pull of attraction towards them whenever they approached.

Now, seeing them like this, touching Liora, felt like history repeating itself.

My heart twisted, a tangled mess of longing and rage. I wanted to scream, to demand why they'd abandoned me and chose Liora instead but Lyra's voice cut through my spiraling thoughts. "You don't need to feel that way. They don't deserve you." The moment Lyra said those words, my sudden boldness appeared again as I cursed beneath my breath. 'A** holes!'

Then Lyra's voice came rolling through my mind.

"Devils," she snarled. "They let you die. They don't deserve your pain." I clenched my fists, only I could notice, my nails biting into my palms. Yes, Lyra is right. They are devils, and I wouldn't let them break me again with Lyra by myself.

I'd keep Lyra, my wolf, a secret from them. She's young and powerless perhaps, her strength is dormant. I don't really know how these things work but all I can say is Lyra came into my life at the right time. I'd protect her, keep her hidden, and use this second chance to make them pay. Every single one of them.

Suddenly, a voice snapped at me.

"Why are you still standing? Why are you there?" Liora's voice sliced through the room, yanking me from my thoughts.

Regaining myself, I tried to find my words. My mouth opened, but nothing came out. Finally, I stuttered, forcing myself to step forward, my voice barely above a whisper. "I… I'm here to clean the room," I said, my eyes darting to the floor. "But I'll leave now and return later."

I turned to go, my heart pounding, but Cade's voice stopped me cold. "How dare you leave when Liora hasn't given you the order?" His tone was filled with arrogance I remembered from my past life. Cade, the eldest triplet, was all fire and dominance, giving him a commanding presence. He'd always been the leader, quick to act, quicker to anger. Kael, sitting silently on the bed, watched me with those unreadable cold eyes, always observing, always calculating. Zane, lounging beside Liora, couldn't take his hands off her cleavage area.

Liora laughed, waving a hand dismissively. "Oh, don't mind her," she said, her voice dripping with mockery. "Oh Iris is just jealous the future alphas are giving me all their attention." She leaned into Zane, her lips brushing his lips for a kiss, his hand sliding down her waist.

My blood boiled, Lyra's growl vibrating in my skull, urging my human body to react with calmness. In the past, the other version of me without my wolf would be crying by now but sorry to disappoint them. I forced myself to stay calm, to suppress the fury threatening to spill over. I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of seeing me break.

"Clean the room," Liora ordered, her tone playful and listful. "And don't just stand there. Enjoy the show… I'm giving you this great opportunity." She chuckled again, her moans filling the air as the triplets resumed their attentions, their hands and lips kissing every part of her body and their hands, doing magic on her b**bs and below there.

I swallowed hard, shiver running down my spine as I grabbed the cleaning rag and began wiping down the dresser. Liora's moans grew louder. From the corner of my eyes, I see Cade's fingers sliding in and out of her, massaging her pubic muscles. While Zane and Kael focus on her upper side.

Pleasurably, she spoke. "Oh, Cade, Kael, Zane," she purred, "take me, please." My stomach twisted, and for a fleeting, shameful moment, I imagined myself in her place, their hands on me, their eyes filled with the adoration I had wished to experience. The thought made my cheeks burn with shame. But then, I snapped at myself, gripping the rag tighter. "You don't want them. You want revenge." Says Lyra.

Lyra's growl softened. "Focus, Iris. We'll make them regret this." Lyra said as I dusted, ignoring the sounds behind me.

After a while, I was finally done cleaning the room. I couldn't wait to leave.

"I'm finished," I announced, and I turned to leave, not waiting to hear whatever they had to say, my eyes fixed on the door, but unfortunately, my foot hit the edge of a table as the Jade vase Alpha Darius's gifted Liora fell and crashed to the floor, shattering into a hundred pieces.

"Are you blind?" Liora's voice pierced through the room. "You clumsy, useless wretch!" she shrieked, leaping from the bed naked as she stormed toward me. Before I could react, her hand landed across my face with a dirty slap. My head snapped to the side as my cheek burned as I stumbled back, my hand flying to my face.

"How dare you!" Liora seethed, her eyes blazing with fury. "That was a gift from Alpha Darius! You'll pay for this, Iris. Wait until I tell him what you've done!"

Her words sent shivers running down my spine in great fear.
