Chapter 14 - Chapter Seven: Resurrection

The words hovered in the air like smoke:

"Final Scene Approaches. Only one may leave."

Luna stared at the mirror shards.

At Jasper, who stood behind her, bruised but breathing.

At her own reflection, bleeding, shaking, awake.

They climbed back up to the stage.

The theatre had changed.

The seats were empty now.

Not just empty,dust-covered, as if no one had ever sat there, the walls were cracked the lights buzzed.

And the cast stood waiting, frozen in place,

Like dolls left behind in a nightmare.

Only Velora moved.

Standing center stage in a black wedding gown, her veil drifted like smoke.

I told you, playwright," she said. "You don't end a cursed show you just choose your role.

She stepped forward.

"Someone must take the final bow someone must stay behind."

Jasper grabbed Luna's hand "We run, we burn the script and we end it.

But Luna's fingers tightened.

"No," she whispered. "If we run, it lives, It will finds another cast, another Luna, and another Jasper don't you get.

She walked to the center of the stage.

Faced Velora.

"I'll give you what you want."

Velora tilted her head.

"Which is?"

"A real ending."

Luna pulled out the script.

Now just one page left.

She dipped her fingers in her own blood and wrote the final scene.

Each word pulsed red as it formed.

She read aloud:

"The playwright takes the final bow but writes her soul into the show. She ends the curse by becoming the ending, Love remains. The theatre sleeps."

Velora's veil fluttered.

And then she laughed.

"I thought you'd never figure it out."

The lights dimmed.

The cast began to sing.

One last reprise of the cursed ballad.

But this time, it was slower, Softer, and a lullaby instead of a warning.

🎶 Love Me to Death (Reprise)

Take my voice and take my name,

Let the curtain fall the same.

But if I write my heart in flame,

Let the world forget my shame…

One will leave and one will stay,

One to burn, one to play.

But love the real kind finds a way.

Even past the final day. 🎶

Velora stepped back.

And for the first time she bowed to Luna.

"You did it, playwright."

Then she vanished, just like smoke.

Jasper rushed to Luna. You can't mean it. You're not staying right?

But Luna kissed him.

Long. Soft. True.

"I'm the script now," she said, crying. "That's how the curse ends."

She stepped into the spotlight.

A beam of golden light poured over her.

And the script in her hand burned to dust.

The stage creaked, creaked and collapse and everything went dark.

One year later.

The Crestfall Theatre is demolished.

But sometimes, when the wind blows just right, the townspeople hear a melody on the air.

A love song.

With a girl's voice.

Singing not to be saved but to be remembered…
