Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Obito Vs Kaito (2/2)

In a courtyard not far away, Uchiha Itachi held the smiling Uchiha Izumi tightly, tears streaming silently down his face.

Boom!

Suddenly, a distant explosion echoed across the night!

Itachi looked up, surprise flickering in his sorrowful eyes.

It felt as if ancient mythical beasts had awakened, clashing and tearing into one another. Within a few hundred meters, the area had become a battlefield for two monstrous chakra entities!

Below the towering beasts, two figures could just barely be seen locked in fierce combat.

His Sharingan spun rapidly, evolving into a pair of three-tomoe Sharingan before transforming again—into the Mangekyō Sharingan.

The Mangekyō not only retained all the abilities of the standard Sharingan but amplified them immensely.

"It's him!"

With his Mangekyō now active, Itachi could clearly see the two figures. One of them was his current "partner."

Though he didn't fully understand the masked man's strength, he knew he was stronger than himself. And yet, someone was fighting him evenly—not at a disadvantage. That shocked Itachi.

After a moment of consideration, he gently laid Izumi down, picked up his sword, and continued his mission.

He and the masked man were allies in name only. At the end of the day, they were enemies. If someone else could deal with him, all the better. He had no intention of helping.

Hokage's Office

Konoha's elders—often dubbed "Konoha's F4"—watched the chaos from a distance, their faces grave.

"The Uchiha clan actually had someone that strong hidden away?" Shimura Danzo said coldly. "Judging by the damage, those are two Kage-level fighters!"

"What should we do now, Hiruzen?" Utatane Koharu asked. "Should we intervene? This is beyond what we expected."

Hiruzen Sarutobi frowned. "No... the destruction from their battle is beyond what we can easily contain. We wait until it's over."

Danzo, ever calculating, stepped forward. "Then allow me to go, Hiruzen."

He'd already dispatched all his Root agents tonight in pursuit of the Uchiha's Sharingan. But now, seeing those massive chakra constructs in the distance, even he felt hesitant.

Hiruzen raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Very well. I'll leave this to you."

On the Battlefield

The two Thunder Dragons clashed relentlessly but eventually dispersed into primal chakra—lightning and fire—vanishing into the night.

The damage they left behind was immense: everything within a hundred-meter radius had been completely obliterated. Only scorched, cracked earth remained.

The battle between Ayanami Kaito and Uchiha Obito had reached its climax.

Kaito pushed his body to the limit, slipping into Lightning Chakra Mode. His power surged dramatically, every movement causing the earth to quake and crack underfoot like a charging beast.

He had no time to waste. The commotion they'd caused would undoubtedly draw Konoha's attention. If this dragged on, the odds would only turn against him.

Unlike Obito, he didn't have the luxury of retreating into Kamui.

Obito, meanwhile, was growing impatient.

He regretted targeting this supposed "Anbu." His goal had been to harvest Sharingan, not get bogged down in a prolonged fight.

The Uchiha clan was on the verge of annihilation. If he didn't collect enough Sharingan tonight, he might never get another chance.

And he knew he wasn't the only one with such desires. Every minute wasted meant another pair of eyes lost forever.

For someone well-versed in the Uchiha clan's secret techniques, even a single Sharingan could mean everything.

But after so many exchanges, it became clear—the "Anbu" in front of him wasn't from Konoha at all.

The lightning armor surrounding Kaito's body was unmistakable—he had mastered the Cloud Village's Lightning Chakra Mode.

Defeating someone like this quickly was simply impossible.

"I can't waste any more time!" Obito thought.

The screams from the Uchiha clan were already fading. If he stayed any longer, he'd leave empty-handed.

Bang!

Obito blocked Kaito's punch with both hands, skidding back several meters to create distance.

His arms throbbed. That punch was nearly as powerful as Tsunade's infamous strikes.

Activating his Sharingan, the familiar vortex of Kamui began to form around him.

Before vanishing, he sneered, "You've made an enemy today. We'll meet again, boy."

Kaito raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Next time, I'll show you exactly who's boss."

Then, with a flash of lightning, he vanished from sight.

Moments later, Anbu finally arrived—but too late.

---

After dodging all of Konoha's surveillance, Kaito slipped back into his home, carefully stashed away the sealing scroll, then headed straight to the Ninja Academy.

After a quick stop at the bathroom, he swapped places with his clone and strolled back into the classroom like nothing had happened.

The plan had gone off without a hitch.

Even the sharp-minded Shikamaru behind him hadn't noticed a thing.

Kaito glanced at the clock. Barely half an hour had passed since he'd left.

"Kaito, are you feeling okay?" Hinata asked gently from beside him.

"Yeah, just had a bit of an upset stomach," he replied with a grin.

"I'll bring you some medicine tomorrow, then."

"That'd be great. Thanks, Hinata." He reached over and pinched her cheek.
