Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Jiangnan International Residence

After finishing his meal, Lin Dong walked out of the eight-star hotel. Looking back at the hotel entrance, Zhao Xuan and several attendants bowed as they saw him off. Lin Dong felt as if the world had suddenly become so wonderful.

What was Jiang Shan?

If this brother was willing now, he could even form a harem of three thousand beauties.

What's next?

Buying a house, of course.

Lin Dong had long wanted to move out of the school dorms. The four-person room now only had two occupants, as the other two had girlfriends and had rented places outside.

And the remaining one, he heard, was also getting serious with his girlfriend and planned to move out.

Lin Dong had originally considered renting a place with Jiang Shan, but she adamantly refused.

The thought of Jiang Shan sleeping with Huang Junlang after only a few days sent a pang of pain through Lin Dong's heart.

"Damn it, I should have forced her back then. Now it's good, that stinky kid Huang Junlang got a bargain," Lin Dong cursed silently.

Just then, Lin Dong's worn-out second-hand phone rang.

Lin Dong picked it up and saw it was a call from his roommate, Liu Peng.

Although he had moved out and was living a shameless life with his girlfriend, they had lived together for over a year, so their relationship was still good.

Moreover, the school's accommodation fees were tied to tuition, so even if they didn't live at school, the accommodation fees were still paid. Thus, no one else came to live there, and they would occasionally return to the dorm to play a few rounds of games.

Lin Dong answered the call.

"Dongzi, where are you? The three of us are at the infirmary now. Doctor Chen said you already left. We heard about your situation. Please don't do anything foolish. Try to look on the bright side; out with the old, in with the new. Once you feel better, we'll organize a get-together and help you find someone better," Liu Peng's anxious voice came through the phone.

Lin Dong felt somewhat comforted and said, "Liu Peng, what are you thinking? How could I do something foolish? Don't worry about me, I'll be back soon."

"Are you really okay?"

"Really, I'm fine!"

"Then tell me, where are you now? We'll come find you."

"No, I've already gone home. Don't worry, I'll definitely be back in two or three days!"

"Really?"

"Of course, it's true!"

"It's good to go back and relax. Think more about your loving family and us brothers."

"Alright, I'm not that foolish! Don't worry! I'm hanging up!"

Jiangnan International Mansion.

The houses here are the most expensive in Jiangnan Province.

The average price starts at 200,000 yuan per square meter.

Of course, the geographical location here is also the best.

The entire Jiangnan International Mansion is surrounded by the river, with only one exit and surrounded by the river on three sides.

The scenery is beyond words.

There are only six buildings here, each with 38 floors. The smallest unit is over 200 square meters, and the largest is over 1,000 square meters.

This is a true gathering place for the wealthy.

The parking lot is full of luxury cars; cars under a million yuan would be too embarrassed to drive in.

Lin Dong arrived at the sales office of Jiangnan International Mansion.

Entering the sales office hall, it appeared somewhat empty. Only five or six saleswomen were sitting in twos and threes, chatting. Upon seeing Lin Dong enter, not a single one was willing to come forward.

Jiangnan International Mansion had been on the market for three years, but the houses had not yet sold out. They were simply too expensive; a small unit could easily cost tens of millions, which not everyone could afford.

When it first opened, there were quite a few people looking at and buying houses. After two years, those who could afford it had bought, and those who couldn't still couldn't.

Therefore, most of the staff from when the sales office first opened had already left, and many saleswomen left with millions of yuan.

After all, a house costing tens of millions or even hundreds of millions meant that commissions alone could bring in a huge fortune. At that time, the commission was only two per thousand, but now the commission for newly hired staff has increased to one percent, though it's still difficult to sell two units in a year.

Many people here are just working for the basic salary.

Upon seeing Lin Dong enter, they immediately knew from his attire that he wasn't there to buy a house, so everyone continued their own conversations, with no intention of acknowledging Lin Dong.

Lin Dong also felt a bit awkward at this moment. The people chatting clearly didn't want to bother with him, and there wasn't even anyone at the front desk, so he didn't know who to ask.

However, after Lin Dong stood for two or three minutes, a young woman, about twenty-six or twenty-seven years old, walked out of the sales office restroom.

Cui Jia had just started selling houses at Jiangnan International Mansion last month. Her uncle had to pull strings and pay a 10,000 yuan gift to get her in.

She came from a small town and originally thought that by working in such a high-end place selling houses, she would definitely make a lot of money. Unexpectedly, after more than a month, she hadn't even received a single customer.

In over a month, the number of people who came to view houses could be counted on two hands. As soon as they entered, the older employees would rush to greet them, leaving her no chance. Moreover, in the more than a month she had been there, not a single house had been sold in the entire Jiangnan International Mansion.

Today, as she came out of the restroom, she saw a young man about her age standing in the hall. The older employees didn't seem to have any intention of greeting him, so she walked over.

"Sir, are you here to view a house?" Cui Jia asked as she approached Lin Dong.

"Yes!" Lin Dong replied.

Cui Jia's heart swelled with joy; finally, she had a chance to show a customer a house.

"Then, Sir, what type of unit are you looking for?"

"What types of units do you have here?"

Cui Jia rattled off a long list of introductions to Lin Dong.

There weren't many remaining units here, so Lin Dong's choices were limited.

Finally, Lin Dong chose a 500-square-meter large flat on the 22nd floor of Building 3.

Cui Jia took the keys from the front desk, and the two went to view the house.

As soon as they left, discussions broke out in the hall.

"Him? Coming to see a house? Look at his clothes, they're all street vendor stuff. He's clearly a loser. Does he even know what kind of place this is?"

"Exactly. One square meter is enough for him to struggle his whole life. Only a newbie like Cui Jia would take him to see it. Isn't that a waste of time?"

"He's probably from the countryside and doesn't know the housing prices here. When he finds out, he'll be scared senseless, haha!"

"Right, let's wait until he's chosen and then laugh at him."

Two hours later.

Lin Dong and Cui Jia returned to the sales hall.

They sat on chairs at the edge of the hall, and Cui Jia made Lin Dong a cup of tea.

"Mr. Lin, are you satisfied with what you saw?"

Cui Jia asked, sitting opposite Lin Dong.

"Not entirely satisfied. The location of Building 3 isn't particularly good. Are there any remaining units in Building 1?"

Lin Dong felt that the location of Building 1 was the best. Since he was buying and wasn't short on money, he would definitely buy the best.

"Mr. Lin, please wait a moment, I'll check for you."

Cui Jia picked up her tablet and began to search for Lin Dong.

"Mr. Lin, because Building 1 has a better location, there's only one remaining unit. This unit is on the top floor and is a large duplex flat, occupying the thirty-seventh and thirty-eighth floors of Building 1. It's the 'building king' of Building 1, with a total area of 1,300 square meters, and the price is a bit high. I still don't recommend you choose this one."

"Oh? Can I go see it?" Lin Dong didn't even ask the price, directly wanting to view the house.

"You can, but..."

"That's fine, let's go take a look first!" Lin Dong interrupted.

Cui Jia thought for a moment and replied, "Okay, Mr. Lin, please wait while I get the keys."

As Cui Jia returned with the keys and the two were about to go view the house, an experienced saleswoman in her thirties, still graceful, spoke from not far away.

"Xiaojia, are you two going to see the 'building king' of Building 1?" She was close enough to overhear their conversation.

"Yes, Sister Liu."

"Xiaojia, it's not that Sister Liu is lecturing you, but the houses here aren't for just anyone to view, let alone the 'building king' of Building 1. The interior was designed by international masters. What if something gets damaged? Who can afford to pay for it?"

"Sister Liu, I'll be careful!"

"Xiaojia, you've just started, you don't understand the depths of this business. In our line of work, you need to have good judgment. Look at him, does he look like someone who can afford a house here?"

Sister Liu pointed at Lin Dong without any reservation.

"Sister Liu, I believe Mr. Lin isn't that kind of person."

"Sigh, since you won't listen to Sister Liu, then do as you please. But after you come out, make sure to wipe the floor clean and don't leave a single footprint, understand?"

"Understood, Sister Liu."

Cui Jia finished speaking and led Lin Dong directly to the 'building king' on the top floor of Building 1.
