Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The End

I have never seen a monster quite like this before.

Even as I stood, I could not reach its height. Even as I raise my arms up, I would not be able to touch its head. And even as I pray for the lords to protect us from whatever that is, none will come to help.

The grounds shake, and the buildings shatter. The city became deprived of any life, and I, alone, stood before this monster. I couldn't quite get a grasp of what it truly looks like. And it's not like I wish to know.

The air around me began to rip apart, the dimensions seem to slowly open, and a white void greets me from the other side. A rift was its lips, and surrounded it was a beautiful spread of galaxy leaking from the white void. I had come to question it, the galaxy didn't come from the other side, how was it the lipstick the rift used?

The monster's long nail tapped at me and I came face to face with its giant eye, the sclera a deep maroon that houses many stars, and the pupil resembling a white pearl with red stain atop of it. Fear overcame me, or was it excitement? Nonetheless, I grew wary of what it was thinking, and stared at it for as long as it stared back at me. The monster growled and pushed me with its nail as tall as my height—156 centimeters— and beckoned at the rift.

The lips of the rift looked like it moved into each other a bit closer, indicating it's closing soon. The monster growled deeper, and I swear it reached within the acids of my stomach. Without further restraint, I was pushed into the void and closed my eyes for I feared the reality of the dimension beyond.

The place between the world I was in and this white void seemed to tear my muscles apart, bringing me extensive pain. I could no longer hear the cracks and stumbling of debris from the fallen skyscrapers and buildings. All I felt was nothing but tranquility, it was strange, but it was more than enough to relax myself. In doing so, my muscles no longer tore off from the bones in my body.

As I slowly opened my eyes, a step was all it took to take me to the white void I saw from the other side. I looked all around, yet it was clean and pure. The rift had begun closing and I ran to it, afraid that I may never go back, but as I made contact with the flurrying galaxies, I was bounced back by an unimaginable force. I could only helplessly look at my world that seemed to disintegrate at the hands of that unfathomable monster.

I held my knees and carefully stood up, trudging towards the closed rift. Warmth filled my eyes and my cheeks were stained with tears. I attempted to express my grave feelings, to shout out in frustration, but even this void prevented me from grieving.

I could only wonder why that monster spared me, why it didn't with anyone else. The memories of all the people I care about being smashed in a pool of blood, it was as if they didn't exist in the first place. Minions of that monster flooded through the cities killing anyone and everyone they encountered, and yet when a minion had approached me, I saw its eyes glow a dark green and avoided killing me only to jump towards more innocent citizens.

The police stations even released criminals tainted with severe crimes to fight against the monsters, and even they weren't spared. It was all an indiscriminate massacre.

My memories ended there as lightning struck in front of me, the rift was now gone and there was only a luminescent figure before me. If I were to describe this person in one word no matter how hard it is, I would call her..

".. A god.. " I muttered.

Her eyebrows slightly raised, and her lips curved pleasantly. Her head slowly leaned down as her eyes carefully observed me. I had stumbled backwards but her hand caught me before I could fall. She seemed nice, but I know creatures in this void wouldn't be as simple as that. Everytime her eyelashes flicker, gold dust would follow. And her hair was adorned with infused galaxies, she even used a star to design her hair with.

The god only moved her lips, but there were no sounds to be heard. Only the crumbling of the space beneath my feet could only be felt, and followed a voice echoing within the white void that seemed endless. It was as if sharp frequencies pierced my ear, the power of her voice imminent and the restraining gravity that harbored pressure enough to press me down flat against the ground.

Her words followed: "You have come. Now, you may explore worlds by your will. G-- of ----, -------. "

What? Her words fell into static, glitches that I could not figure out, perhaps it was words that I am not worthy to listen to. But no matter what she uttered, I am only a simple being, I couldn't care less of what she was trying to convey. I lift my face to look at her with a furrowed expression. But then gravity once again put me down, the ground shook and her words again followed after.

"Recover your power. And meet me in the I------- Space. "

Before I could ask any questions, she disappeared without a sound, leaving only connected stars until it disappeared as well. I was abandoned, lying on the ground without any hope left. I shouldn't have been spared, any being wouldn't wish to be alive at this state right now. The feeling of despair overcame me and I rolled to my back, covering my face with my hands as thoughts of going back to my own world made me feel hopeless.

No, do I even have a home left to return to?

"What.. in the hell.. " I weakly gasped out. ".. am I supposed to do now..? "

Numerous sighs filled the space before I gradually drifted into a deep sleep. And as I slept, once I woke up, I wouldn't be able to comprehend the world that would greet me after. I, for sure, did not see it coming.

For it was a world far beyond.
