"Where am I," Kishio wondered internally, suddenly he grabbed onto his head in pain as memories flooded his mind, he looked at himself. He was clad in a long back overcoat, a small marking at the left side, he quickly undid the first few buttons and inspected his chest, there was a marking there.
A small marking like a tattoo, black in colour, it was shaped like a ghost reaper but without a scythe, it was shrouded in dark smoke, 'A parasite?' Kishio wondered, he knew what the marking indicated, all parasite holders possessed a similar marking, the marking signified the presence of a parasite in the human, except the variety that had their parasites living outside their bodies, but Kishio had greater thoughts going through his mind.
If a human died, their parasites died with them, for him to be here and with a parasite marking meant he wasn't in some kind of afterlife world or that he wasn't dead, he was alive. But how?
'Death comes but once, buy fear not as you posses the death god' a voice echoed in kishio's ears, it sounded close but distant, like whispers but also quite clear, making it difficult for kishio to pinpoint, Kishio turned his head to the side a few times trying to discern who spoke. His eyes suddenly widened.
If someone possessed a high level parasite, communication with it was possible.
People with such privilege often grew the most as they were the kind to get the most understanding of their prowess.
He looked down at the parasite marking, it seemed like the marking moved, as if confirming his thoughts, Kishio blinked a few times but nothing happened.
"I must be imagining things," Kishio mumbled to himself, he had better discern where he was. As he stood to his feet a sudden wave of exhaustion washed over him, he stumbled into a kneeling position.
Kishio's thoughts wandered a bit before his eyes widened, he suddenly realized the parasite marking he possessed now was different from before he went to sleep…he began to suspect something was up.
He had such a weak body then that he died because he couldn't supply his parasite enough energy and at the same time have enough for his body, he never knew how strong his parasite was then, he simply just cursed it that it never did anything good, now he was feeling a similar feeling, the feeling of over exhaustion because of a parasite.
"Hey, over there!"
"The boss'll want this one."
"Long as we bring him in, we're off the hook."
Kishio heard a bunch of voices coming from ahead, but he remained on his knees trying to keep himself from going unconscious, he could hear their footsteps approaching him.
"Relax, we're just D-rank adventurers. Come quietly and you won't have a problem." a man stood in front of Kishio, he seemed to be the leader of the gang, he had a cigarette at the corner of his lips, seeing as Kishio gave no reply, they assumed he agreed l, probably too scared to look them in the face.
As the leader bent down to pick up the kneeling Kishio, Kishio suddenly screamed, he was angry for being weak, if he wasn't he could have beaten his enemies, he could have beaten death, he screamed filling himself with adrenaline as he struggled to his feet.
The team seemed to have been frightened by the scream as they activated their parasites, the leader being the closest was more frightened as a green flame ball appeared on his palm and he threw it at Kishio.
As the green flame ball touched the black overcoat that Kishio was clad in, the attack seemed to dissipate, the coat absorbed the attack, Kishio himself seemed to be in surprise, but his facial expression was hard to discern, but obviously the trio were more shocked.
"A kogami item!" The trio recognized what the overcoat that Kishio was clad in was.
Kogami are items that parasites gifted their hosts, it was said parasites had a world of their own, if that was true, humans believed kogami to be treasures in which their parasites possessed in their world.
Parasite loved their hosts as the death of their host spelled their own deaths, but kogamis had different varieties, one that could absorb energy attack was definitely high grade.
Kishio felt a bit better after the attack was absorbed, he gained a bit of understanding of his item.
Two more energy balls were sent flying at Kishio but the black overcoat absorbed the majority of the attack.
Kishio's expression darkened as one of the trio thrusted a spear forward, they were after his life, a dark aura coated his hand as he moved his hand slapping towards the spear, he had no idea what he was doing, merely moving on instinct.
He had a weak body in his past but he was a very skilled fighter.
As Kishio's hand came in contact with the spear, the person who thrusted the spear suddenly pulled back as his eyes widened, the other two failed to notice but he could feel it, the spear trembled as if threatening to fall apart just by making contact with the deadly aura.
A long green sword suddenly flashed as the team leader swung his hand. Kishio was about to move to avoid the attack, but a sudden feeling of exhaustion stopped him.
"Such a strong skill, just one use and I'm already on the verge of shutting down" Kishio thought to himself realizing the cause of his exhaustion, he could see the green sword about to come down upon his neck, but he could not react in time.
Although he knew the trio didn't actually want him dead, if they did they wouldn't have requested he follow them, they were simply trying to subdue him or something, anyways he didn't fancy what they wanted and didn't want to be taken against his will.
Kishio felt a cold metal against his neck as the long green sword touched his neck, he felt a warm liquid drizzle down from his neck.
"Make a move and die," the wielder of the long green sword said coldly.
"Only I control death "Kishio heard the ghost-like voice once again-it sounded furious as if making a declaration accompanying the voice he could feel a weird energy rising from within and with it himself losing consciousness.

"Ugh" Kishio grunted as he slowly opened his eyes "Can't I use my power without such great consequences" he mumbled to himself.
He looked around, he was still clad in the black overcoat, he laid on a bed untied…untied? Kishio began to ponder, if he was captured by the goons there was no way they would leave him with his kogami and untied, the treatment felt too unnatural.
It was a normal room, the walls looked a bit worn out as the paint was a light shade of grey, he stood to his feet and proceeded to leave the room, a sweet aroma wafted into his nose, he turned to face the direction and there he saw a sup sitting at a table, a set of delicacies in front of them, they seemed like a small family, buy happy even though.
"Mom, mom, big brother is awake," Kishio heard the little girl seated at the table say, the duo seemed to notice his presence, Kishio suddenly froze.
