"Chasing the Wind for Your Order"
A blue taxi parked steadily under the towering and luxurious skyscraper.
This was the busiest area of Blackwood City, and the Marriott International building had already become one of the city's most iconic landmarks.
Designed in a European style, the crystal chandelier flickered with a classy glow.
The delicate lines and carvings looked vivid and full of life, shining in the light like a palace from some fantasy world.
Rachel had just received an order from Chasing the Wind. The customer wanted to get in the car here.
"Hello, I'm a Chasing the Wind driver. My car has a blue license plate: A2219. I'm now at the entrance of the Marriott Hotel. You can come down now." Rachel smiled slightly, and her gentle yet clear voice sounded as sweet as a silver bell.
"Okay." The low and magnetic male voice that came through was cold and distant. Even over the phone, there was this chill that made Rachel shiver.
That voice was way too cold. It seriously gave her goosebumps!
She couldn't help glancing over at Cora, who was fast asleep in the passenger seat, but of course, no help there. Still out cold!
Cora was her daughter, five years old, with a round and chubby little face, super cute.
Her face looked like a little apple, soft and fair.
Her curly bangs were thin and long, kind of like a crescent moon hanging over her forehead.
Her lips were pink and small, like a cherry, and just slightly curled up.
Rachel looked at her and smiled without even realizing it. No matter how hard life got, just seeing her adorable daughter made everything worth it.
She gently pulled the blanket over Cora's tiny body and kissed her on the forehead.
Then she turned down the volume of the order prompt, switched on the radio, and played some music by Bandari.
Both she and Cora liked this kind of soft, clean instrumental music. The gentle and calm tunes made Cora sleep even more peacefully.
Soon, a tall figure walked out of the building and headed straight toward her car.
He was wearing a dark suit, and under the lights, his slender silhouette looked seriously perfect. His steps were fast and confident, like a streak of light.
Rachel immediately got out of the car and bowed to open the door for him. As he got closer, his insanely handsome face became clearer and clearer.
His features looked like they were carved by a master artist, super defined, cold, and noble.
His forehead was broad, his nose was straight, and his slightly curved red lips were pressed together tightly.
His deep black eyes were cold and sharp, like the eyes of a hawk in the night.
He didn't just look like a model. He had the aura of someone powerful enough to change the world.
Rachel was completely stunned! She'd been driving a taxi for a while now and met tons of people, but she had never seen a guy this good-looking.
Actually, she figured there were probably only a few people in the entire city who could even come close.
"Drive." The man, Kellan, spoke in that cold, magnetic voice. His expression didn't change at all.
His tone wasn't harsh, but it carried this powerful, commanding energy.
Like someone had just turned the air conditioner all the way down, the chill in the car was instant.
"Okay." Rachel forced a little smile and looked up at the sky. Why did the weather suddenly feel so cold?
She shook her head and smoothly started the car.
As soon as Kellan sat down, he noticed the little girl sleeping in the front seat.
Her cheeks were soft and rosy, and her tiny upturned nose looked super delicate. Her eyelashes were thick and long, like a doll's.
The car was playing "Snow of Dreams" by Bandari. It was probably for the little girl. The beautiful piano music made the whole vibe of the car super chill and comforting.
The taxi rolled smoothly down the road. There wasn't a single bump, it honestly felt more like riding in a luxury car than a regular taxi.
Kellan raised an eyebrow. This driver... wasn't bad at all. He casually glanced at Rachel sitting in the driver's seat.
With short and neat hair, and slender fair hands gripping the steering wheel with ease, Rachel was driving a taxi for Kellan for the first time.
He was in a rush to get to RK, but his car had broken down on the way, so she was the replacement.
"Sir, you're going to RK Bar, right?" Rachel felt a sudden chill crawl down her spine, like she was being stared at with a cold gaze.
"Yeah," Kellan's voice was low and magnetic, like the sound of a string instrument being gently plucked.
His voice was so smooth it made Rachel feel like her ears were about to melt. She couldn't help but sneak a glance at the rearview mirror.
He was just leaning back lazily, eyes half-closed, looking like he was resting.
His features were ridiculously perfect.
His brows were sharp, nose straight, lips thin and well-shaped. His whole face had this wild, untamed vibe, like he didn't care about anything.
Just him sitting there quietly was enough to make people feel nervous, like the air got heavier around him.
The silence was so intense it gave Rachel a weird panic, like that one morning five years ago when she woke up with her chest all tight and heavy.
Soon, they arrived at RK Bar.
"Sir, we're here." Rachel's voice was soft and sweet, pulling Kellan back from whatever space he had drifted off to.
"Hmm?" Kellan slowly opened his eyes.
Wait, had he actually fallen asleep?
That was insane!
A flicker of surprise flashed in Rachel's eyes. Did this guy really just fall asleep in her taxi?
Kellan, the young master of the Elliott Family Group, was literally one of the most powerful people in Blackwood City.
His vibe was on a different level, people naturally respected and feared him.
He took over the Elliott Family Group super young and blew it up, expanding into entertainment, finance, real estate, and even film.
And he was still single, the dream guy for every rich girl in the city.
But the dude had serious insomnia.
He'd seen tons of famous doctors and tried everything, still couldn't sleep without pills. Even with those, it barely worked.
The last time he actually slept well was five years ago, after a crazy night of drinking and sleeping with a girl who dipped before he woke up.
And now? He just straight-up passed out in a random taxi?
That had never even happened in his luxury car with his personal driver.
Kellan looked at the girl in the driver's seat. Her smile showed little dimples, and her bright, clear eyes looked like a calm lake. Her face was fresh and pretty.
But honestly, he had seen way more gorgeous women. Compared to the high-class girls always trying to get close to him, she didn't exactly stand out.
"Was it the music?" Rachel smiled brightly. "You were sleeping so soundly. Even if work's busy, don't forget to take care of yourself!"
