Chapter 4 - Ch. 4 - Meet the family!

A/N: From now on, whenever Alya speaks in Russian, it will be in bold and italic letters.

"Why do you want to know my name, pervert." The girl glared at me and asked with a cold tone.

"Because you look familiar. I feel like I've seen you somewhere." Well actually, it's more like I just want to confirm something.

"Hmph! Those pick-up lines don't work on me, who do you think I am?" There she went again, speaking in Russian, and as usual, I understood every single word she said.

Fortunately for her, I don't intend to expose her sooner, at least this way, I could truly know what she feels like without having to read her mind.

"Hm? What was that?" I asked confusedly, feigning as if I didn't understand Russian.

"I said, I won't tell you my name, you pervert!" Shaking my head at her outburst, I shifted my focus back to her phone and opened the gallery.

And there it was, a video back in the alley.

Clicking on the play button, I watched it with curiosity, and what I saw next made me raise an eyebrow.

'Where is the monster? There's only me in this video.' I furrowed my eyebrows and muttered to myself.

In the video, I appear to be raising my hand and the Mana Arrows appear while throwing them up in the sky. To nowhere, to be exact. The monster that I was fighting earlier was nowhere to be seen.

'Was it just my imagination? A side-effect of me transmigrating in this world? Or is the monster unseen by normal humans and technology?' I kept muttering to myself.

The video then ended with me finding out about her and chasing her.

Eventually, I still deleted the video and just in case, I permanently deleted it from the Deleted Folder before giving it back to her.

"Thank you for your cooperation." I smiled at her and she just gave me another glare before receiving the phone.

'Man, she looks even more beautiful when glaring at me. Is there something wrong with my mental health?'

Then we sat in silence.

In my mind, I was contemplating whether to use a memory wipe on her, after all, she just saw me use magic.

As if on cue, she spoke about the thing that had been in my mind.

"Was that….real magic?" She gave me an eye while asking.

"….What magic?" I stared back at her with a question.

In return, she just gave me a deadpanned stare.

"Don't play dumb. I know what I saw earlier." She pouted and glared at me.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. If I were to tell someone a secret, I have to know their name, we're practically strangers, don't you think?" That should give her the clue.

"….Alisa?"

"Hm? What was that?"

"My name is Alisa." She was looking away while introducing herself, how cute.

"Then Alisa, my name is Ali-Kenshin. It's nice to meet you." I offered my hand for a handshake, which she begrudgingly took.

'Now that confirms a few things. I'm in an anime world, a testament to me being in Japan right exactly as I transmigrated and met this anime heroine. That means the monster earlier must've also come from an anime, but the real question is, which anime?' I deeply contemplated about it.

I'm not an avid anime fan, I just used to watch some during my free time or when one of my friends talked to me about it.

With how many animes there are, I should narrow it down to those I know of.

Jujutsu Kaisen.

It's the only anime that fits the bill, disfigured monster, dark energy surrounding it, and being unseen by Alisa and her phone.

It could also be some other anime I haven't heard of but for now, it'll be Jujutsu Kaisen.

"Yes, it's magic and I don't think normal humans are supposed to know about it." Finally, I answered the curiosity that had been plaguing her.

Her eyes beamed up in interest and she leaned closer to me.

"Then, do you think I could learn magic?"

"Learn magic? Why would you need to learn it? And besides, I'm not sure yet if his magic truly works in this world." I shrugged my shoulders, failing to realize the slip of my tongue.

"In this world? What are you, an outsider?" Alias squinted her eyes at me while muttering to herself in Russian.

"No wonder you look cute…"

"Pfft!" I couldn't hold myself from accidentally drowning in my spit, surprising her and the other residents of the train.

"W-What happened to you?" She seemed a bit concerned.

"N-Nothing…" I composed myself and calmly replied to her.

However, inside my mind, I was already panicking.

'I-Is this it? My chance to have a girlfriend? Bad not just any kind of girlfriend! But an anime Heroine Russian Girlfriend! That's like an SSS-Tier Waifu Material right there!'

'I mean, she just called me cute, right? That's gotta mean something!'

While inside my mind I was having a deadly crisis, I maintained a poker face on the outside.

"A-Anyways, I'm not exactly an outsider, it's a bit complicated. You see, when I said about this world earlier I meant the human world, you know what I mean?"

No shit, my explanation just made it more complicated than it should be.

"…I see…" Oh, thank you for your understanding, Alisa-san!

"If you want to learn magic….then maybe I could spare some of my free time teaching you." I cleared my throat and gave her the answer she had been looking for.

Obviously, I won't let this opportunity pass by. I may not have an experience when it comes to women but I'm a fast learner, so a few videos on the internet should be enough as research material.

"Really!" Alisa, too happy about it, launched herself at me and gave me an extremely bright smile that was a huge contrast to the cold expression she showed when we first met.

Dammit, Alisa-san! Tone down your smile, it's too captivating!

As if realizing the expression she was showing, she turned beet red and she quickly backed away from me.

Coincidentally, the train came to a halt, finally reaching the next station.

I watched as she gathered her belongings and walked out of the train with her head hung low, hiding her blushing face.

Once the door closes, the train proceeds to leave.

'I didn't even manage to get her number, how am I supposed to call her for magic lessons?' My mouth twitched several times as I kept my eye on her out from the window until she was finally out of my sight.

'Oh well, at least I know which station she is at.'

***

"This isn't my station," Alisa muttered to herself with a gloomy expression.

She had been too embarrassed to show such a vulnerable side to someone she barely knew and due to that sheer embarrassment, she was unable to stop herself from leaving the train.

"I'm so dumb." Her head went further down and she muttered to herself.

She subconsciously hugged her bag as if she were hugging the boy she just met while muttering to herself.

"How can someone be so cute and handsome at the same time?"

Once again, she released her true feelings in the Russian language, under the comfort that no one but her would be able to understand, not knowing that her feelings are now an open book to the boy she's starting to grow feelings with.

"Arriving at Shinjuku Station." Hearing the announcement, I stretched my limbs and prepared to hop off of the train.

While doing so, I started thinking about what would I do once I met my family.

Should I tell them the truth? That the original Kenshin fell into gambling addiction after winning millions of yen.

That's right. They're my new parents now, they at least have the right to know the reason behind my sudden disappearance.

Being truthful increases my chances of being forgiven and accepted back into the household.

Unfortunately, my remaining money was already spent on the train tickets so I could only go by foot, which wasn't that bad as I got to see Shinjuku in its full glory.

It's not like I want to keep pickpocketing every time I need money, if so, I might as well rob a bank.

Getting out of the station, I was met with the large expanse of the city, full of people and foreigners walking around.

"What a city. I heard it's even more beautiful at night." I muttered to myself while walking around the city.

I was caught up by its beauty to the point that I was even thinking of delaying my arrival at the Kuroki household and instead, roam around the city.

However, perhaps my high Mind stats took effect and I made a great decision to resist it for now.

'Once I settled my family, I'll have all the time in the world to roam around the city.' I muttered to myself.

"Mister! Please try our new maid cafe!"

"Hey, handsome! How about trying out our Nagasaki special, Castella cake!"

"Hey hey! DJ Junji is in the house! Please visit the Nightingale nightclub where I'll be playing tonight!"

As I walked in the streets, I encountered many vendors and promoters, most of them seemed interesting while some looked quite a bit suspicious.

Shinjuku is definitely known for its tourist attractions as I can see many foreign tourists being convinced by these promoters with some even outright coming with them.

Fortunately for me, some of these guys didn't bother me, maybe because of my Evil Slayer trait. After all, some of these guys can also be evil, who knows?

I spent around half the day walking and getting to meet many tourist attractions before eventually settling in on the familiar street near my home.

My heartbeat quickens the more I step forward.

Thanks to the memories that I inherited from the original Kenshin, I was familiar with these streets like the back of my hand.

It didn't take long before I'm now standing in front of my home.

Guessing by the lights inside and the voices, I could tell that my parents were home and seemed excited to see me.

I also remember having a sister, her name should be Kuroki Tomoko, though I already forgot what she looks like considering it's been months, nearing a year since I last saw her get out of her stinky room.

That little girl is a huge shut-in. Or an Otaku obsessed with becoming famous to be precise.

I won't even be surprised if this family of mine is somehow involved in an anime I haven't watched yet.

Entering through the small gates, I stood in front of the door and was about to knock when suddenly, the door opened up by itself.

"Why am I the one throwing away the trash? Where is Aniki? He's supposed to be the one doing this!"

In front of me stood a small girl with huge eyebags, her slouched back and black hair covering her right eye.

Then there's also her distinct smell that you could smell from old people that hasn't showered for weeks.

It seemed that she had also noticed my presence and froze on the spot.

Inside her mind, the girl was panicking.

'W-Who is this mega handsome stud standing in front of me!? C-Could it be, my hidden prince charming? A secret admirer from my childhood days who finally couldn't resist confessing his feelings to me?!' Countless scenarios ran amok in her mind until it finally settled with one big conclusion.

'Mom. Dad. I'm finally about to get laid!' Her eyes turned dreamy and she allowed herself to fall forward, expecting her 'secret admirer' to catch her and plant a kiss on her lips.

Except what happened next was out of her expectations.

"You're finally out of your stinky nest, Imouto." Two fingers pushed her forehead, causing her to lose her balance and fall backward.

The trash bag in her hand flew up in the air and landed heavily on her face.

Bam!

I looked down at her and noticed the trash juices covering her entire face, soaking her hair and her shirt that displays a handsome adult man that looked like it came out of a romance light novel.

"Oops?" I smiled awkwardly.

Well, this wasn't how I was expecting to meet my little sister.
