Chapter 132 - Chapter 132: The Spirit-Smith's Promise

When morning crept across the newly christened Realm of Lumeria, it did not come with silence—but with the steady rhythm of hammers striking ethereal anvil.

The Forgeheart Bastion, nestled in the mountains west of Flame Academy, was alive with music not of spirit, but of creation. It was a forgotten place—once the domain of extinct spirit-smiths—but now, it echoed again.

At its center stood a woman.

She was not beautiful in the ordinary sense. Her hair was braided like molten ore, and her eyes glowed with smoldering gold. Muscles wrapped her form like cords of metal, and across her back stretched a hammer taller than most men.

She was Isolde Varra, the last of the True Spirit-Smiths.

And she was angry.

A Messenger Arrives

Rei stepped into the Bastion not with guards, but with the resonance of his name. The ground welcomed him. The walls whispered in Spiritsteel. Even the flames shifted in rhythm to his steps.

Isolde looked up from the forge.

"So. The world-changer comes."

Rei gave a slight nod. "I came to listen."

"That's what the last one said before he broke the Spirit Anvil."

"I'm not him."

"No. You're worse. You succeeded."

He met her glare. "That's why I need you."

Isolde paused. Sweat glistened on her brow. "What for?"

"To build the Sovereign Core."

At that, the forge went silent.

What is the Sovereign Core?

Mireille had theorized it. Eirenne had tried to simulate it.

But only Isolde could forge it.

The Sovereign Core was more than a weapon—it was a heart. A living nexus that could house harmonized fragments and give them consciousness and agency. It was a system meant to stabilize fractured realms without consuming them.

To grant choice.

And to do so without chains.

Isolde's fingers twitched. "Do you know what it would cost?"

"Everything," Rei said.

Forging Begins

The next three days were heat and pain and wonder.

Rei stayed beside her, working until his hands blistered. Noira arrived to keep the flames aligned. Mireille synced the Spiritsteel lattice with precise glyph schematics. Eirenne channeled memory-echoes from the Nexus to stabilize essence distribution.

They failed twelve times.

But on the thirteenth attempt, as the Star Bellows roared and the leyline beneath the Bastion harmonized, Isolde slammed her hammer for the final time.

A pulse of gold and azure flared outward.

A sphere hovered, warm and beating—like a living heart.

The first Sovereign Core was born.

The Pact

As the core cooled, Isolde turned to Rei.

"My price is simple."

He raised a brow.

"When this is over, you give me your name."

Rei blinked. "Why?"

"Because I want to remember what kind of fool builds peace in a broken world."

He smiled.

"You'll remember."

She touched the Core. "Then let's make sure it's worth remembering."

The Flame Beyond the Forge

That night, as the stars glimmered in time with the world's breath, Rei stood alone atop the Bastion.

The Core floated beside him, silent and expectant.

He reached toward it.

It pulsed once—and whispered a name.

Liora.

Not a tool.

A spirit.

Born not of sorrow.

But of promise.
