Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Party Time

As I got dressed in my best toga that was light blue with, you guessed it, gold inlay. Meeting Pallas in the hall, he was wearing a black toga.

"Did Mom pick out your toga?" he asked with a smirk.

"Why are you asking when we both know she picked out all of ours," I replied, making us both laugh.

Things have been a little better between us since Mom forced us to talk. Perses walked out into the hall complaining about the red toga mom had picked out for him, which made us laugh even harder. Perses seemed angry, thinking we were picking at him, but Pallas explained.

Going downstairs, Mom was in a light blue toga, and Dad was in a dark red. Mom's face lit up when she saw us, and she started going on about how handsome we were while adjusting our hair or toga.

We went outside, where our fanciest and biggest coach, with gold and copper all over it, was hooked up to the two gold pegasus.

We headed to Cronus' house, where it was more lively than the last time we were here. As we landed, the servants who were dressed nicely rushed over to us. They lead our pegasus away so another could land. We headed inside, going to the ballroom where everyone was.

Someone announced all of us, and we headed into the room full of Titans and humans they claimed were important. They all cheered and came our way to congratulate me on my job.

Phoebe and Theia pulled my parents to the side while my brothers ran off with Atlas and the brothers toward the corner. I had to stand there and talk to the other adults in the room. They were all talking about how I restructure the underworld and if I could help them in their area. I happily agreed with a smile on my face, but I was already tired from all the work.

They finally announced that Cronus and Rhea were entering, and we all got on one knee with our right hand across our chest and our left hand behind. He told us to stand and looked around before his eyes met mine.

"Arise, Today we are here because of someone who has shown great promise. He will definitely be someone who will remain at my side and help make our world a better place for all. He even found a new vein of gems and ore for all of us. He could have easily kept it and other information to himself, but he didn't. This is why we're throwing a party in his honor. So let's praise Astraeus." Cronus said, waving his hand to me, and everyone cheered. I smiled and waved at everyone.

"Let the party begin!" Rhea yelled with a huge smile on her face, which made everyone scream and cheer.

"No one dare the boy to keep the sky on dusk 'cause he will do it!" Hyperion yelled, raising his glass while wrapping his arm around me. Making everyone laugh and cheer.

I was hoping this would be a nice night, but we knew how to party. Everyone already had a glass or bottle. I sighed, grabbed a bottle from one of the maids, and turned it up, which everyone cheered even louder. If you can't beat them, join them.

We danced and drank for hours until I needed a break, slipping out to a quiet sitting room. I sank into the chair, closing my eyes for a bit.

"Astraeus?" a sweet voice asked, making me jolt up. I looked at the door where Eos was standing looking at me. I was ready for her to scream at me for all the letters, but she just stood there.

"Please sit down," I said, standing up so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable with me next to her. I quickly looked around the room, but it was one of the few small rooms off the ballroom for people to get a breather. The only thing in this room was a couch and a side table.

She sat down, going as bright red as her rosy fingers. I didn't know what to say, and neither did she. I started making small talk about the weather, but she didn't reply. I could see her fidgeting with her hands. I guess it was an accident that we both ended up here.

"I'll go to another room; sorry if I bothered you." I smiled and bowed as my heart felt like it was shattering. I walked past her, but she grabbed my wrist, stopping me.

"Please don't leave," she whispered.

"Alright," I replied just as quietly. I don't know how long we stayed like that, seconds, minutes, or even hours. I was so happy for her to hold my hand.

"I'm sorry I slapped you," she said, looking down, still not letting go of my hand.

"It's fine; I definitely deserved it," I assured.

"No, you didn't; you just made me flustered. No man has ever said that to my face. I hear whispers behind my back but never to my face." she said.

"That's a shame because you are very beautiful," I assured, kneeling at her and holding her hand more securely. Her yellow eyes met mine with no word between us, we slowly leaned toward each other.

"Astraeus, are you in here?" a drunk Perses barged his way in, making her jump and wings flap. The gust of wind from her wings knocked me to the ground as I tried to stand up.

"What's going on here?" Perses asked, sitting on the couch, making Eos stand up moving to the opposite side of the room. I looked at her face. She seemed so embarrassed; I didn't want to embarrass her further.

"I was apologizing for harassing her. She just told me I sent her too many letters." I said, looking at Perses, who nodded in agreement, saying I told me so.

"I'm sorry," I said one more time, kneeling, then getting up and taking Perses out with me.
