The wind howled across the frozen tundra as I stared out at the endless white landscape of the Icewind Territory. My breath formed clouds in the frigid air, but the cold barely registered. My mind was thousands of miles away, with Seraphina.
Three nights without connecting in our dream space. Three nights of emptiness where her warm presence should be. Something was wrong—I could feel it in my bones, in my wolf, in the hollow ache spreading through my chest.
"Alpha King, we need to move soon if we're to reach the Eastern pack before nightfall," my guard captain announced from the doorway of our temporary shelter.
