The moment I stepped into the mountain safe house, my breath caught in my throat. Unlike the rustic cabin we'd just left, this place was something out of a spy movie—sleek, modern, and absolutely impenetrable.
"Welcome to Safe House Seven, Luna," Gideon said, his massive frame somehow looking small against the cavernous interior carved directly into the mountain. "This is one of Alpha Thorne's most secure locations."
I ran my fingers along the smooth stone wall, marveling at how the natural rock had been transformed into something so sophisticated. "How do we even get in here? I didn't see an entrance."
Gideon's lips quirked up. "That's the point. The entrance is disguised as part of the rock face. Opens only to specific biometric signatures and closes immediately after. Even if someone followed us, they'd be staring at solid rock by now."
