The Yuletide Feast was in full swing. Laughter and music filled the air, while delicious scents floated from the long tables laden with traditional werewolf holiday dishes. I stood beside Seraphina, watching as she exchanged pleasantries with several pack members who approached to pay respects.
She looked radiant tonight. The emerald dress complemented her eyes and made her rose-gold hair shine like precious metal in the flickering light from the ceremonial fires. My wolf preened with satisfaction at the way other males' gazes followed her before quickly averting when they sensed my attention. The small protective hand she kept over her growing belly only enhanced her allure.
"You're staring again," she murmured, a slight blush coloring her cheeks.
"Can't help it," I replied, brushing my fingers against the small of her back. "You're the most beautiful woman here."
