Synopsis
Alex Slade has always lived in the shadow of his twin sister, Alice-the popular, pretty one everyone knows, and the name people confuse his with constantly. Quiet, bookish, and more comfortable behind a screen then in a crowd. Alex prefers to stay invisible...especially around Zephyr Knox, the school's golden boy and star athlete. Rumor has it Zephyr is secretly dating Alice Slade. They're seen together often. Whispers fly. But there's one problem-Alex knows it's not true. Not because he's close to Alice. Not because he's curious. But because those stolen glances, those quiet conversations, those moments that longer a little too long...they're with him, not her. As feelings deepen and identities blur, Alex finds himself caught in a whirlwind of secrets, self -discovery and the terrifying possibility that Zephyr might not be confused at all. What if the boy of every girl's dream was falling...for the wrong twin? Or maybe-for the right one.

Chapter 1 - Ch-1 Rumor

Monday smells like disinfectant and broken promises promises.

I am not a fan of either.

Which is why I am in the empty computer lab instead of the cafeteria coding in peace while half the school gossips over who Zephyr Knox is supposedly dating this week

Spoiler alert:

The rumor mill says it's my twin sister, Alice.

I know it's not true-kind of, she do have a huge crush on him. But if it was really true, Alice would've bragged about it by now-probably with screenshots and a PowerPoint presentation titled "How I Bagged the Hot One".

Besides, I've seen the way Zephyr look at her

He doesn't.

Not really.

But it's really none of my business of who the jock dates or rumored to be with. What matters to me is completing the code without any errors.

Passing by the locker with the overdue library book pressed against my chest, the brown eyes met those grey eyes before a ball hit my face with full force making me stumble a few steps back.

Ouch that son of a-

"Fourreyes you okay? I didn't hit the ball hard did I?" The familiar sarcastic voice from the front of me, with a smick never leaving his lips. as his friends snickers at his words.

On I forgot how much I hated guys like him.

Helping myself up, my fingers touch my face which probably was ref from the force the ball hit my was face.

"I am fine thanks for asking?", the words left my lips quietly like always. It was a surprise I even replied to him.

More snickers reached my ears making me tighten my grip on the book.

God

The footsteps could be heard walking past me leaving me alone in the hallway with other students eyeing me.

Zephyr's Pov

As guessed, the rumors spread like a wildfire around the school.

"The Jock is dating the popular girl."

I should have seen it coming after the kiss I shared with her the other day.

Drunk kiss

Hallway buzzed with students as we made our way towards the locker area a familiar figure caught my eyes.

Black hoodie, baggy jeans and glasses, our school's typical nend, Alex Slade, the popular girl, Alice Slade's twin brother. It was not a surprise how different Alex was from Alice, She was the school's sweetheart while he was the stereotypical nerd and the quiet kid. Straight 'A' student, never found himself in any scandal unlike his twin... and me.

Raven black hair strands falling right above his forehead he clenched the book to his chest.

Goddammit he is cute.

Just in spite of trying to get him notice me I hit him with the ball. But the moment it left my hand I regretted it as his expression changed to pain as gasp of pain left his mouth. Making me cringe a bit at the sight.

Fer a brief my smirk soften but as soon as it appeared , it disappeared before anyone could notice.

Walking past him, I couldn't help myself but look over my shoulder at the nerd who stole my wandering heart.

Maybe I imagined he looked at ke with those softened eyes. Zephyr kissed my twin.

It's Alice and never can be Alex-me.
