Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Thinking further would be impolite

The Sharingan — the Eye That Reflects One's Will.

In fact, you could even say it's halfway to being a wish-granting machine.

Whatever deep obsession you have, the Mangekyou will awaken abilities that match it.

When Rin Nohara died, Obito wanted to escape from this world — that was when he gained "Kamui."

Shisui wished to change the mindset of both the Uchiha Clan and the village elders, so he received "Kotoamatsukami."

Itachi Uchiha faced similar struggles between the village and his clan. As he killed his own clan members, he kept trying to hypnotize himself, torn between escaping and giving in to his burning urge to destroy. That was how he obtained "Tsukuyomi" and "Amaterasu."

That's why Hiroki thought the Mangekyou's powers could actually be consciously directed.

By continuously implanting suggestions into an Uchiha's mind while applying stimulation, it might be possible to trigger specific abilities.

But of course, very few people would ever meet these conditions.

Firstly, they must have intense emotions but little life experience — they shouldn't be cynical old veterans who've seen it all and lost their edge. Those kinds of people don't get easily stirred up.

However, these young and inexperienced individuals usually struggle to determine whether they possess real talent.

After all, not everyone can become another Obito Uchiha.

Hiroki mulled it over for a while but couldn't find any suitable candidates, so he put the idea on hold for now.

If needed, he could just grab a few members from the Uchiha Clan to use in experiments later.

When Terumi Mei returned, Hiroki and Kimimaro were sparring in the courtyard.

Kimimaro's bones were harder than steel; even specially made chakra weapons couldn't cut through them.

Hiroki's Heavenly Spin was famous as the Hyuga Clan's ultimate defense.

In this matchup, one represented the strongest spear while the other symbolized the strongest shield.

Even so, the younger Kimimaro still couldn't break through Hiroki's defenses.

Terumi Mei watched for a while, her mood gradually brightening.

Raising two handsome younger brothers really did bring visual pleasure and comfort.

With that thought in mind, she walked over after they stopped training.

"Hiroki, have you made your decision yet?"

"What decision?"

"You sorted out everything with Kimimaro in just one day. So why does this other thing I talked about take you so long?"

Hiroki replied, "All that talking basically came down to wanting me to settle down in Kiri and start a family. Now tell me, with whom exactly?"

Assuming he truly meant it, Terumi Mei quickly asked, "Then what kind of girl do you like?"

"I think you're quite good. Aren't you at the right marriageable age now?" Hiroki glanced at her teasingly.

Terumi Mei felt slightly speechless.

"I'm at the right age, yes. What about you? Are you expecting me to wait for you?"

"Eh, things change — today it's east, tomorrow it's west. Don't be so sure about the future. Who knows? There might not even be anyone left for you to wait for later."

Immediately, Terumi Mei rolled her eyes.

"Punk! You're actually wishing ill on me!"

At last she realized — Hiroki had been messing with her the whole time.

Unwilling to keep engaging him, she turned back toward Kimimaro, gently stroking his head with a soft voice. "Kimimaro, he's fine now. How about Big Sister Mei sends you to school?"

Kimimaro didn't respond, his gaze shifting toward Hiroki.

Terumi Mei sighed inwardly but spoke in an uncompromising tone. "Both of you should stay. There's no need for you two to keep wandering outside."

"It seems like I often run into strong-willed women," Hiroki shrugged.

"Then you must have pretty good luck with the ladies," Terumi Mei said with a half-smile.

"I guess so," Hiroki shrugged again.

Terumi Mei didn't continue pressing them.

They were currently in Kiri village. No matter where they went, someone would report it. Since Mist wasn't willing to let them go, they wouldn't be able to leave anytime soon anyway. There was plenty of time to change their minds.

"You really like her?" After Terumi left, Kaguya asked quietly.

Could something like that happen again?

"I only made that joke because I know she doesn't take things seriously," Hiroki explained.

"Stop thinking about such indecent matters. Desire is an endless abyss," Kaguya replied indifferently.

Indecent matters?

Hiroki felt like chuckling slightly at this, though he didn't say anything more.

He kept remembering how Kaguya always looked whenever they met.

That person always carried herself with such a restrained aura.

So restrained... almost unnatural.

The cold and disciplined type...

What would it look like for someone who had lived in celibacy for centuries to finally fall in love?

Tch, if he kept going down this road, things might get awkward...

Hiroki suppressed those thoughts from drifting further.

Still, come to think of it, reproduction is meant to continue one's lineage.

The Otsutsuki Clan already had the ability to reincarnate through Kāma; in a sense, they were immortal. Logically, they shouldn't feel any intense desire for reproduction. Then, just how accurate was her previous explanation about Hayato and Hamura's birth?

"Kaguya, exactly who is Hayato and Hamura's father?"

Kaguya seemed silent for a while before beginning her explanation.

"I've already told you that—why bring it up again?"

"They had no father. At that time, I couldn't fully absorb the God Tree's power, so I expelled them."

"In time, they developed their own consciousness, which made me regard them as independent life forms."

"You could say they were born from human will, which is why they feel sympathy for mankind."

Hiroki accepted her explanation without further question.

In his view, Kaguya's explanation was similar to someone without social interaction raising several pets for companionship and comfort.

Except Hayato and Hamura turned out too rebellious, eventually turning against their creator.

"Desire might be an evil abyss, or it could represent the most vivid part of our world. When you finally come out, you'll discover what an amazing place this world truly is..."

"Hmph. You'd better break my seal first," Kaguya cut short his rambling with a snort, although strangely warm feelings stirred within her heart.

Hiroki no longer wanted to waste time in Kiri village. Right now, all he wanted was to take Three-Tails away as soon as possible, then return to Konoha and see what kind of commotion awaited there.

So he called out White Zetsu once again.

This time, he didn't hide from Kimimaro. Seeing the strange figure appear out of nowhere, Kimimaro's eyes widened.

"Aniki Hiroki, what exactly is he?" Kimimaro asked, pointing at White Zetsu.

"Just treat him as an ally for now," Hiroki said casually.

It clicked in his mind, and Kimimaro gave a solemn nod.

"White Zetsu, have you ever encountered Tsunade?"

"No. I only monitor Kirigakure. I've never been to the Hot Spring Country."

"Go bring a few people over," Hiroki instructed.

In the Hot Spring Country, a few White Zetsus, still under disguise, paused beside Tsunade and offered their palms.

I recommend trying out Yeguo Reading for book chasing; it's really convenient. You can download it from .yeguoyuedu. Everyone should give it a try quickly.

Tsunade was momentarily startled but quickly caught on. She raised her palm and met theirs with a slap.

A faint tug pulled at her chakra as she asked, "What do you need my identity for this time?"

"Capturing the Three-Tails." With that, they turned sharply and vanished.

Tsunade silently watched them disappear.

Though puzzled, she decided not to interfere.

After all, there was nothing she could change. Overthinking would only frustrate her — and amuse Kaguya even more.
