Chapter 34 - Bristiel

It was a nice break by the lake for a day or so before it was time to start traveling again— Bristiel wasn't very far at this point so it would be stupid to wait any longer.

Everyone was well rested and ready to get back on the road. I'm still a bit of a mess after everything Shimada told me, but there's no reason to let it overwhelm me.

With that final thoughts they continue to travel for Bristiel after packing everything up that they needed. It was a nice sunny day for them to travel on which made things a bit more tolerable.

"How far are we anyway?" Cynthia asks with a bit of curiosity in her voice.

Shimada examines the map for a minute while looking at our current spot. "About a day, maybe less." Shimada answers before putting the map away.

Bristiel was only a day or so away from us— A general of the followers await us there so what do I expect? These guys have been pretty ruthless with every encounter but I don't really have much experience with higher ranking ones.

The keeper I fought was definitely more of a luck thing that I even won that battle in the first place. Something kicked in that I didn't expect while I was fighting against her in that room.

It felt as if everything was clear to me which is why it was so easy to fight against her. I don't think I'll always be given such an advantage against the enemy like that though.

My powers are definitely quite interesting to see with each interaction I have with my battles. I keep thinking it's just supposed to be magic but it appears to be more like a power than anything else.

Magic is definitely a lot different from what a power would be considered right?

Artemis continues to think about his powers as the continue traveling for Bristiel.

(Just reaching the entrance to the Town of Bristiel.)

The town appeared to be booming with people all around it, merchants, Adventurers, and even some knights appeared to be traveling through the town. Surely this was definitely the town that they heard all about in Avania.

Bristiel is very well known for its exquisite artifacts that it sells to those who are willing to spend their coin. Ranging from swords to bows to different types of armor— This was exactly what made the town so special compared to others.

No one knows how this town manages to find such valuable pieces of equipment in the first place but it is profitable, that's exactly why it was brought into the traders guild.

"Yup, this is definitely Bristiel." Shimada speaks up with a smile on his face.

I was definitely taken back by the amount of people here, alongside the crazy amount of shops lined up on both sides of the road. This was definitely not a bad place to try and acquire some better gear before facing this so called general.

I'm not going to survive very long with armor like I have currently since it's the bare minimum. Something stronger is the way to go if I plan to keep fighting strong enemies like this.

"What do you think of this Artemis?" Amelia asks with a bit of excitement in her voice.

I forgot that I'm not the only one taking in this sight for the first time, Amelia is just like me in that regard. I'm surprised she's even able to talk to me after the way things went at the camp.

It wasn't bad or anything but it definitely felt like it was a bit awkward.

Artemis crosses his arms and takes another look around. "It's definitely nice to see so much here." He responds with a bit of a calm tone in his voice.

I'm not entirely focused on everything here since I want to keep an eye out for this general. He was the original reason for coming here so this is exactly what I need to worry about.

Armor. I need to buy better gear now. "Hey Art let's get you something better." Shimada speaks up as if he could read Artemis's mind.

H-How? He just gives a nod to him before following behind him, eventually they end up at a blacksmiths shop.

A dwarf stood before then wearing golden armor that the sun could easily be seen shining off of, his beard went down to the center of his chest and he appeared to have brown eyes. "Welcome to my shop, I make all sorts of armor if you could afford it." He says with a monotone voice.

He doesn't have a caring tone to him whatsoever, just straight to the point it seems. I'm not really offended by it or anything but it's definitely a bit surprising to see a dwarf.

I've not seen too many of the other species of people in this world just yet and only remember them from games. This will definitely be a bit interesting to see what I should get.

Maybe some kind of light armor would suit me since I'm pretty dependent on my speed and heavy armor would slow me down.

The dwarf begins to scan Artemis, searching him up and down to see what he can figure out about him. "I take it you need the armor more than they do, what do you prefer boy?" He asks with the same monotone voice.

Artemis looks around the room at all the different options for armor and eventually his eyes fall onto a nice silver set of armor with a few old engravings, a black cloak, and even a small mask that could go with it. This was just a template design though so it would need to be forged, besides the cloth portions of course.

"I'll take a set like that, how much would that cost?" Artemis questions as he points towards the design template.

Shimada doesn't even give the dwarf a chance to speak before pulling out a gold coin or two. "Here, more than enough right?" Shimada speaks with a laid back tone.

A smile grows on the dwarfs face but you can hardly see it because of his scruffy beard, but he takes the coins and grabs the template. "Just give me till the end of the day." The dwarf replies before disappearing into the back room.

Definitely helps to have a prince traveling with you, especially when he can just cover the cost of things.
