Chapter 10 - CH-9 The unexpected arival

"Hey, just a heads-up… my dad and your dad are coming over today."

That text from Aika hit Riku like a jab straight to the chin.

"…Together?"

"Yup. Said they wanted to 'check on us.' Whatever that means."

Riku Kazehaya stared blankly at his screen.

Living with Aika Hoshino had already been a rollercoaster. Now their dads were teaming up?

Just great.

[Later That Day – The Apartment]

The knock at the door was loud, almost aggressive.

Thud. Thud.

Riku opened it cautiously, revealing Daiki Hoshino, Aika's father, tall and loud, dressed like a politician who moonlighted as a wrestling coach. Behind him stood Genji Kazehaya, Riku's dad — hands in pockets, slightly slouched, with that usual sleepy expression that always hid something smug.

"Well, look at you two!" Daiki boomed as he walked in, looking around the apartment like an inspector. "Living together, eh? I knew the day would come!"

"Hi, Dad…" Aika sighed.

Genji gave his son a nod. "Yo, Riku. You keeping the dishes clean? Not pissing off your roommate-slash-girlfriend?"

"Wait," Riku blinked. "You guys are acting like this is normal…"

"It is," Daiki said, grinning. "So tell me, Aika. Are you two just living together... or are you living together?"

Aika crossed her arms. "We're dating."

The living room fell into dead silence.

Then—clap!

Daiki threw an arm around Genji's shoulders. "Genji! It's finally happened! Your boy and my girl! Our bloodlines are mixing! This is a proud day!"

"…What?" Riku blinked again, this time at his father. "Wait—was this your goal from the start?"

Genji shrugged. "You're strong, good-looking, responsible. She's headstrong, a bombshell, and keeps you in check. Perfect match, honestly."

"Unbelievable."

"We'll be expecting at least two grandkids," Daiki added, holding up two fingers. "One boy, one girl."

"Noted," Aika replied casually, like she was confirming a food delivery.

"Aika!?"

The two dads clapped their hands, laughed, and started walking toward the door.

"Well then, kids," Genji said, waving, "we'll leave the future in your capable hands."

"Be safe," Daiki added. "Don't forget to use protection—just kidding! You don't need it if you're married!"

"We're not married!" Riku shouted.

The door closed behind them.

[Inside the Apartment – Moments Later]

"…So," Riku finally said, scratching the back of his head, "that just happened."

Aika turned to him with a mischievous glint in her eye.

"Hey."

"Yeah?"

"Wanna do it?"

"…Wait. What?"

"I said…" She stepped closer, her voice lower and more playful. "Wanna do it."

Riku backed up half a step, flustered. "Uh—I'm gonna go with no. Not right now."

"Oh? So when?"

"I dunno… Try making me horny first or something. I've got good mental resilience, just so you know."

She stared at him in silence… then laughed.

"Hmph. You just wait, Mr. Boxer Boy. I'm not going down without a fight."

"I'm more worried about me going down at this rate," Riku muttered under his breath.

Aika flipped her hair dramatically and turned away.

"Anyway, it's already too late."

"…What do you mean?"

"I already talked to your dad and mine."

"And?"

"They approved our union."

Riku nearly tripped over the rug. "Our what now!?"

"Marriage," she said with a straight face.

"…Okay then."
