Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Stolen Right Before My Eyes

When not fused with Solgaleo or Lunala, Necrozma appears as a Pokémon formed entirely of jet-black crystalline structures.

Its massive hands each end in three sharp claws, and a white-to-black gradient triangular prism juts out from the back of each hand like a blade of light hardened into form.

It wasn't what you'd call elegant—and certainly not majestic—but its power was beyond question.

Whether in the anime or games, this Pokémon—despite having a base stat total of only 600—had always demonstrated an absolutely terrifying level of suppression and control.

Yet even after fusing with Lana, Necrozma didn't choose to "revert to its true form." It continued to use Lana's body instead.

In fact, at this moment—whether it was truly her or still it—Necrozma found itself inexplicably favoring the human body. It felt more efficient than its original crystal form, and… undeniably prettier than even its ultimate state.

Beyond all that, the sensation of freedom was pure ecstasy.

It had been… how many years?

If not for the unrelenting agony of having lost its light, Necrozma might've long since turned to stone in its endless slumber.

But now it was free.

Truly, completely free.

Even if some human girl's thoughts still lingered in its mind, influencing it—it wouldn't stop Necrozma from doing what it had to do.

And the first thing...

Feeling every cell ache with hunger and longing, she made her choice.

It was time—time to take back everything that rightfully belonged to her.

Children, listen well.

She—she was the true god of light!

Lana-zma lowered her head, gaze locking immediately onto Haru and Lillie.

Or more precisely—onto the little Cosmog in Lillie's arms.

She could feel it clearly: the immense, latent power hidden within that fragile Pokémon's body.

If she could just harness one of the Light Trio—Solgaleo or Lunala—even if it didn't fully restore her to peak form, it would at least alleviate the torment of powerlessness gnawing at her very being.

The top priority now was simple: capture Cosmog. Absorb it. Immediately.

But first...

Those little ants from Ultra Megalopolis and that crusty old man in shades—trash, all of them.

She'd deal with them too.

With that thought, Lana-zma raised her hand again.

Overwhelming Psychic energy gathered around her, then condensed into a brilliant orb of light—so dense, it seemed to devour all surrounding matter.

In this moment, she was the coming storm.

"Photon Geyser!"

"Crap! It's Necrozma—it possessed that woman!"

Faba was dumbfounded. Of all the things they expected Necrozma to do after breaking free, this wasn't on the list.

Even worse, they had no way to resist her.

If that Photon Geyser hit them square on, not even ten thousand lives would save them.

Fortunately, the attack hadn't been carefully aimed—just a casual blast of overwhelming energy.

Even so, the sheer aftershock was enough to hurl them into the ocean far beyond the island's shores.

Half-dead already, they'd have to swim over a kilometer just to reach the safety of the ferry.

But perhaps it was the terror of brushing so closely with death, or some primal survival instinct—because despite losing their coats, shoes, and everything else, Faba and the others suddenly displayed speed far beyond any normal human's.

If there were a championship for swimming in just your underwear—they'd already won.

Meanwhile, Haru, sensing the danger, was already preparing to teleport Lillie to safety.

Unfortunately… something moved even faster than him.

It wasn't Necrozma.

It was a newly opened Ultra Wormhole that had silently appeared beside him.

Just as he was about to have Mew teleport them away, a horde of Nihilego began pouring out of the rift. Their writhing tendrils shot forward, trying to grab Lillie and drag her into the wormhole.

Just when it looked like Lillie was about to be taken—

A woman with long golden hair appeared out of nowhere.

She shoved Lillie aside and took her place.

"Mom!"

Lillie instantly recognized the figure who had saved her.

Her voice trembled with worry as she watched, powerless to do anything.

But even now—even in this moment of helplessness—she still had someone she could rely on.

Haru. As long as Haru made his move, everything would be okay.

And sure enough, almost instantly, that calm and steady voice rang out.

"Mew, use Earth Power! But be careful not to hurt Lusamine!"

But this time, Haru wasn't just up against Ultra Beasts.

The moment Mew made its move, Lana-zma—looming high above in the sky—moved too.

Heh… what a golden opportunity. That Mythical Pokémon was momentarily occupied.

Wasn't this the perfect moment to capture Cosmog?

Delighted, Lana-zma locked onto her new target and extended her hand again…

…or did she?

Something suddenly felt off.

Why was her aim shifting?

Or rather—why had she herself shifted the target?

Huh?

Lana, why are you reaching toward that man?

And that woman—Lusamine?

What the hell are you doing?!

"Stolen right before my eyes?" What does that even mean?!

How could that possibly be more important than reclaiming the light?

Hey—HEY! Give me back my body!

That power belongs to me, Necrozma!

You can't—YOU CAN'T DO THIS!
