Chapter 8 - Lustful Elias von Shade

Chapter 8: Lustful Elias von Shade

Victor existed in complete darkness for he didn't know how long. He couldn't feel anything—not his body, nothing—only ever-stretching darkness around him. It felt frightening not knowing how long had passed in this darkness, where only his consciousness remained alive.

'What happened to me going to another world to save Anya?'

Suddenly he felt a pull on his soul as his soul swept away. He couldn't even think, but his last thought blazed with anger—had the god tricked him or not?

Suddenly Victor began hearing noises around him. He couldn't completely make sense of them as his mind remained too hazy right now and his body throbbed with pain.

'Body!'

'I have a body now. I can feel it.'

It felt different from before, as the noises around him started to become clear now.

"Has he died now?" A charming voice—it possessed such power that if that same voice had commanded someone to kill themselves, they would do it with a smile on their face.

Lysira von Shade, the matriarch of House Shade, looked at one of her sons, Elias von Shade, from a veil that concealed her face completely. Not even her eyes could be seen, but she could still see what was happening outside without any problem.

She knew those who would use sins to make their vow could fall to temptation more easily than those using virtue as a core. The risk of corruption ran high compared to them, but that didn't mean it couldn't be controlled. None of the other virtues or sins were greater than her sin, Lust, which House Shade had been using for countless generations.

They remained closest to Xialith, the Goddess of Lust, since the ancient age when their great ancestor had been chosen by her.

'It's such a disgrace that one of the descendants of the ancestor, who had a direct connection to the sin of lust, has fallen at the time of their vow and became corrupted.'

A reply came quickly after her words.

"I believe he should be dead and his soul completely destroyed, having no chance to turn into a fallen."

Lysira von Shade also believed he should be dead, considering how weak he was. She felt no remorse that one of her sons had died. She didn't have much expectation from Elias, to begin with—he had been lustful from the start. She had heard about him from informants a few times.

'Those who can't control even their own lust are unworthy to be descendants of Lust.'

"Take care of his body and ensure that no one discovers the cause of his death," Lysira ordered in her captivating voice.

Even when she controlled herself to the limit, her voice still caused many inside the courtroom to think about her in their minds. But no one dared to show any emotion of lust in her presence—they knew their fate would be worse than death.

She looked at the girl who was around the same age as Elias, who was dead now. She was the only one who wasn't exuding any emotion of lust from her.

'Mirae von Shade, my only daughter who is worthy enough to even come close to my power in the future, As expected of you.'

She gave her love only to her, as no one inside House Shade she deemed worthy to have her favor.

Victor had heard everything while still acting dead from the moment he had heard if he was dead or not. Considering how he was feeling, it must be about him, but he couldn't just lie there as it looked like they were going to take care of his body. However, he might be discovered, so he couldn't just stay there.

'I know who I might be.'

The voice he had just heard, which belonged to a woman, made his blood boil because emotions of lust were being stirred up within him. He couldn't accept that, as his lust belonged solely to Anya and Anya alone.

It was hard, but he was able to control his emotions. Still, he didn't like the feeling that voice was trying to evoke emotions of lust in him.

He slowly tried to stand up, and the pain he was feeling had now gone. He wasn't used to the new body, so he stumbled a few times before finally standing properly.

He looked in front of him—high above there was a throne on which a lady seemed to be sitting. Her face was completely covered by a veil, and not even an inch of her skin could be seen due to how she had dressed.

Seeing her figure for the first time, he knew who she was.

'Lysira von Shade, the Matriarch of the House of Shades.'

He didn't like which house he was born into, but he didn't give much thought to it. Even if he had been born as a commoner, he would have found a way to save the world by any means.

He even guessed his identity without even looking at his figure.

'Elias von Shade, the lustful young master of House Shade and one of the candidates for heir only in name.'

Victor remembered from the beginning of the novel, around chapter 11, there was a scene that introduced the Matriarch of House Shade, in which she had ruthlessly ordered the execution of her son Elias. But even he as a reader didn't feel anything, as his soul got corrupted because he wasn't able to handle the vow he had taken, and he personally hated his personality.

He had thought after his transmigration he would get the memory of the person like in fantasy novels, but he didn't. He remembered the term used to describe the death of Elias von Shade.

'His soul was completely destroyed.'

'Is that the reason why I didn't get any memories from him?'

He didn't give much thought to it now, as first, he had to deal with this situation right now. So many people were looking at him that he could hear their gasps and murmur but he could only see their shrouded figure behind the pink mist and not see them.
