Chapter 7 - Act 3 scene 1

ACT 3 | SCENE 1

Sarah threw herself onto the bed, burying her face into the pillow as if to muffle the scream rising in her throat. Her heart was pounding so wildly, it echoed in her ears like thunder.

> "Daily… dinner… with him?" she whispered in horror.

"No. No. No. No. No!"

She bolted upright, hugging the pillow to her chest.

> "I'm too scared. I don't even know him. Why is he doing this? Why does it feel like he… already knows me?"

She paced across the room, every thought crashing over her like waves.

> "My preferences… my dislikes… even how I like my tea. It's like he's been watching me for years. But why? Who is he really?"

Sarah clutched her head and groaned, collapsing back into bed.

> "I'm supposed to hate him—his bossy, controlling, cold-blooded behavior. Acting like he owns me. I really, really hate it… don't I?"

She curled up into a ball, the weight of confusion pressing down on her chest.

> "I don't understand any of this... I just want to disappear."

Later That Night – Andrew's Study

The clock ticked in the background, but Andrew sat still—leaned back in his chair, sleeves rolled up, tie loosened, shirt glowing white under the dim light. His hands rested flat on the polished desk, fingers slightly curled, his eyes shut tight like a man haunted.

A long, slow breath escaped his lips. He looked calm—but his face was a warzone of emotion. Beneath the surface of his perfectly sculpted features, one could read: tension, guilt, and fear.

> "Why is she so reluctant?" he thought.

"Why is she so afraid of me?"

"Doesn't she remember me… at all?"

The knock on the door broke his silence.

> "Get in," he said flatly, not moving.

Lian entered with a light bow.

> "Sir, your friend Sam is here—"

"Send him in," Andrew cut in before he could finish.

"Right away, sir."

As Lian left, Andrew's jaw tightened. The storm in his mind hadn't calmed.
