Cherreads

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

It had been ten days since Shiro woke up on the beach. Ten days since his death, reincarnation, and the revelation that he was now part of the One Piece world. And now, sitting atop a rock cliff overlooking the sea, he finally had his first real weapon strapped to his back, his body wrapped in stitched-together leather scraps for makeshift armor.

He wasn't strong yet. He wasn't safe either.

But he was no longer helpless.

The Basic Sword had changed everything. A clean, sharp blade made from salvaged scrap, useful for hunting and defense. That alone boosted his confidence, but the real value came from the Tech System's expansion. Crafting. Upgrades. Research functions waiting to be unlocked. All of it screamed potential.

All of it screamed grind.

---

Establishing the Workshop

The biggest limitation now was crafting quality. Scrap was barely holding things together. If he wanted better tools, stronger weapons, real tech—it required more than scattered debris and sticks.

He needed a base.

A workshop.

Shiro scanned the system's interface again.

> [Workshop Construction Requirements]

– Shelter Structure (Complete)

– Enclosed Walls (x4)

– Flat Foundation

– Workbench (Crafted or Recovered)

– Storage (x2 crates or containers)

Materials Needed:

– Wood (x20)

– Binding Material (x10)

– Stone Slabs (x8)

He clicked his tongue. "So I've gotta do base-building now too."

Thankfully, the island was full of trees and rocks. The issue wasn't finding them—it was the labor.

So he started with the basics. Chopping down trees using his sword would dull it fast, so he took time crafting a proper axe head using stone and bone fragments. He lashed it to a sturdy stick, creating his first real tool.

> [Crafted: Primitive Axe]

[Durability: 30/60]

[Bonus: +10 Wood Harvest Yield]

It worked better than expected.

By the end of the second day, he'd gathered 30 wood, enough vines for binding, and even managed to shape a few flat stones from near the cave into slabs for the floor.

He cleared out a large flat area about twenty meters inland, close to the stream but high enough to avoid flood risk. There, he began building the workshop walls. Simple stakes driven into the ground, lashed together with vines, reinforced with layered bark and stone on the outside.

Each day, his hands bled a little more. Blisters on blisters. But the system recognized the effort.

> [+1 TP – Workshop Construction Milestone]

[+1 TP – Foundation Placement Detected]

[+1 TP – Enclosure Progress: 40%]

Slowly but surely, he was grinding even without fighting.

Hunting the Alpha

By day thirteen, he'd cleared a space for a workbench. That required metal parts and something to support weight—he found what he needed back in the tech wreckage cave: a rusted steel platform and a few bent legs that, with some hammering and heat, made a sturdy enough table to pass the system's check.

But while dragging materials back, he found signs of something else.

Tracks. Big ones. Deep in the forest mud.

Massive claw marks on trees.

Fur snagged on bark.

It wasn't a boar. Not the same type he'd fought before.

> [New Beast Signature Detected: Unknown Predator – Tier 2]

[Warning: Combat Not Recommended – Threat Level Moderate-High]

Shiro paused in the brush, squinting at the claw marks.

"Of course there's a boss monster on this island."

He didn't go after it that day. He wasn't suicidal. But the thought lingered. If it was a Tier 2 beast, then it probably had materials. Stronger bones. Stronger hide. Possibly rare drops—something the system would reward.

And most importantly…

> [Kill Reward Estimate: 20-30 TP]

[Possible Blueprint Drop: Beast Gear | Enhanced Hide | Predator Blade]

Tempting.

But not yet.

Upgrades and Blueprints

After finishing the workshop's frame on the fifteenth day, the system expanded again.

> [Workshop Online]

[Research Menu Unlocked]

[Blueprint Editor Unlocked]

[Basic Storage Created]

[Tech Shop Update – New Blueprints Available]

• Water Filtration Unit – 15 TP

• Crude Furnace – 20 TP

• Basic Crossbow – 25 TP

• Leather Armor (Set) – 30 TP

• Portable Generator (Damaged) – 40 TP

[Available TP: 16]

Shiro immediately picked the Water Filtration Unit blueprint.

It wasn't glamorous, but drinking from the river without boiling was a risk. Now he could set up a system using charcoal, sand, and layered bamboo to passively clean water.

> [Blueprint Learned: Water Filtration Unit]

[Materials Needed: Bamboo (x3), Charcoal (x1), Sand (x1), Binding (x2)]

[Estimated Build Time: 2 Hours]

He also went back and reinforced his sword.

> [Upgrade Selected: Reinforce Blade (+20 Durability)]

[Cost: 5 TP]

[New Durability: 80/100]

His current TP sat at 11. He decided to stockpile the rest.

Then he opened the Blueprint Editor, curious what could be done.

It was limited for now, but it allowed him to combine two blueprints or modify one with additional materials.

He didn't have enough parts to test it fully yet. But the potential was there. Soon he'd be able to make hybrid weapons. Reinforced armor. Maybe even early firearms.

That would be when the game really began.

Day 17 – First Encounter

It was supposed to be a normal resource run. He had just finished filtering his first batch of clean water, and had gone east of the cave to collect some more vines and check a small rock outcrop he hadn't explored yet.

Then he saw movement.

Not a boar.

Not the predator.

A human.

At least, he thought it was.

They were short, maybe five feet tall, with wild hair, a dirty cloak, and a slingshot hanging from their waist. They were poking around the rocks, clearly scavenging.

Shiro dropped into cover immediately.

His heart raced. He hadn't seen another person in almost three weeks.

And this wasn't a pirate. Not in uniform. Not armored. Just ragged.

The figure turned slightly, sniffed the air like an animal, then crouched and moved quickly back toward the woods.

Gone in seconds.

Shiro stayed hidden for another ten minutes before creeping back to camp.

Once safe, he opened the system.

> [Human Encounter Logged]

[Race: Human (???) – Unconfirmed Origin]

[System Reaction: Neutral]

[New Quest Available]

– "Stranger on the Island"

Objective: Track or Communicate with the Unknown Figure

Reward: 15 TP | Blueprint Unlock | ???

Accept Quest? [Yes/No]

He accepted immediately.

The implications were huge.

If there were other humans here, that changed everything. He might not be alone on this island. And if this person knew a way off, or had connections to the outside world, Shiro needed to know.

But he had to be careful.

In the world of One Piece, even kids could kill.

Night Plans

That night, Shiro laid out all his current gear:

– Basic Sword (Reinforced)

– Primitive Axe

– Leather Wrap Armor

– Crude Firestarter

– Bamboo Torch

– Slingshot (crafted recently using vine and bent metal rod)

– 6 Stones (ammo)

– 3 Meat Rations

– Water Flask (filtered)

It wasn't much. But it would do.

Tomorrow, he would track the figure. Not confront. Not yet. Just follow.

And if the predator showed up before then... well, that would be its problem.

Shiro looked at the bounty poster of Ace again before he slept. The paper was faded, but the image was still clear. That cocky grin. That defiant fire.

This world was real.

The war. The pirates. The devil fruits. The marines. All of it.

And he was going to survive it.

With steel, gears, and code—he'd forge his own legend.

One invention at a time.
