[ The Ascended-Beast Almanac]

Tier 1 beasts/ Common beasts - Tier 1 ascended

Tier 2 beasts/ Scavengers - Tier 2 ascended

Tier 3 beasts/ Abominations - Tier 3

Tier 4 beasts/ Titans - Tier 4

Tier 5 beasts/ Calamities - Tier 5

Tier 6 beasts/ Disaster class - Tier 6

Note: Always fight in squads of five or more against beasts of the same class to avoid casualties.]

Kael looked closer at the image representations of each class of beasts.

"I'm sure you get it by now. To go into more details, scavengers are demon-like creatures that move in swarms, using their limbs to attack and numbers to overwhelm their enemies.

I will send you the data so that you can read it at your own discretion, so that we can move on.

Now...Lastly, tier six ascenders.

There's only one of those as of now, and always has always ever been one of those, the sovereign, the de facto ruler of post-apocalypse earth.

The strongest being in all of existence. Her name is Jasmine Vaelora.

"Wait, it's a she?"

"What's that supposed to mean!?" Kael flinched; he realised he had just misspoken. "If you think female ascenders are weak because of some old stereotype, you better change that, or you might go down to one for underestimating us."

"My apologies, I misspoke, I just blurted out without thinking. It won't happen again." Kael spoke sincerely.

"Hmph..." Elara simply snorted in derision before she continued. "Anyway, that's how the ascended classification system stands."

"I will admit that we do not know how to classify you in all of this, but I will need to see how your unique core scales up to the standard dream core. That will be a starting point to see where we can put you."

Though if I had to say, from your sword skills alone, you are already as strong as low-ranking tier 2 ascenders, even though Draven never used dream energy in that fight, you managed to tire him out using just a sword, that is commendable.

I can imagine how strong you will be while using your anti-dream energy, maybe even as strong as me. I am at the peak of tier 2 now."

"You are that strong?" Kael asked sarcastically.

"Yeah! I'm amazing, ain't I?" A smug smile was plastered on her face.

'She just shamelessly praises herself? Wow...' Kael was a bit bumbfounded, 'How shameless can one person be?'

"Hey, for interest's sake, how strong is Lois? The terrorist you mentioned that day." He decided to shift the topic a bit.

"Lois, huh? The last time anyone heard from him, he was a tier five ascender. People have been suggesting he may be on the verge of a breakthrough, and he is only waiting to become a tier six like the sovereign before he strikes again. But they are only rumors.

But you can't help but think that there might be some truth to them." She said.

"Yeah, that is a plausible theory. I would also come to the same conclusion." Kael agreed.

"Now, we have to focus on our reason for being here, I will explain the basics of dream cores and dream energy control, your circuits, the different unique abilities that ascenders awaken, apart from utilising dream energy, we each have what we call a signature ability, that is the core of what makes each of us unique. We will get into that some other time.

I explained dream cores, dream energy, and circuits for channelling dream energy to you that other time.

Now, to form a dream core, your body naturally starts to absorb dream energy in your days of infancy, which means you are born with dream circuits, and then you form a core later over time.

Since we have established that you have a different energy source, a core, and circuits, I think you should be able to apply the same principles to utilise that energy of yours as though you were using dream energy.

Try to collect it in your core through your circuits, compress it over time, then, to use it, try to either expel it like a caster or strengthen your body by circulating it like an enhancer.

We won't know what class of ascender you are till you try.

Now, go sit down in the centre in a lotus position, close your eyes, meditate, and do as I said."

Elara crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Kael, expecting him to calmly walk over where she told him to.

To her surprise, he didn't move a muscle; he just stood there, and for some reason, in a rare showing, he was looking slightly agitated.

So she had to ask, "Hey, what's wrong, are you tired after all? We can stop here if you want...There's no rush, I'd just be a bit disappointed, is all." She was about to turn around and lead Kael out of the training room.

"Uhm, it's not that, it's just that I already figured all that out already while I was out on a stroll yesterday."

Elara pivoted on her heel, turning back around to face Kael, "Figured out? Which part did you figure out?"

"Uhm, all of it, drawing in void energy, compressing it in my core, circulating it in my circuits to strengthen my body, and emitting it to cast a spell."

"Huh?"Elara did not answer for a while. She simply stared at Kael, dumbfounded, but she had to break out of her stupor sooner or later, right?

Kael snapped his fingers in front of her face, "H...He...ooo..H....looo.....hello! Elara, you there!?"

"Huh, yes... You were saying...? Oh yes, how...? How is that possible? Do you mind showing me so I can be certain?"

"Of course," Kael smiled, 'Oh, I love that reaction.'

He chuckled out loud.' It's so funny.'

"Are you laughing at me!?"

"No ma'am, I wouldn't dream of it." Kael moved back to the centre of the room. He took a short breath.

Getting a feel for the energy in his body and core, Kael began circulating void energy. "I've just begun to strengthen my body with void energy."

The effect was immediate and visible.
