"Uchiha Sasuke, Uzumaki Naruto, come with me."
After lunch break, Iruka Umino came to the classroom and specifically called these two out.
He had just found out about it himself, but what exactly it was, he didn't know.
"Iruka-sensei, is something wrong?"
As soon as Naruto stepped out, he hurriedly asked Iruka. Being called out alone like this probably had something to do with what happened yesterday, right?
Thinking about that possibility made Naruto feel a little uneasy.
He had been planning to visit Sasuke's house more often to eat there, of course, he would help cook and wouldn't just freeload.
"I don't know either. It's a senior who wants to see you. Don't be nervous, it probably... probably isn't anything bad."
Iruka smiled awkwardly. Even he didn't quite believe his own words.
After all, this senior was an elite jonin, and the fact that he came personally for two kids meant this wasn't a small matter.
"Oh."
Unable to get more info, Naruto stopped pressing further.
When they arrived at the empty training field, a white-haired ninja wearing a green vest stood there with his back to them.
"Kakashi-senpai, I've brought Naruto and Sasuke."
Seeing Kakashi casually standing with one hand in his pocket, Iruka, unsure why Kakashi had his back turned, reminded him politely.
"Hmm, Iruka, you can go back to class. I'll talk to these two kids alone."
Kakashi tucked away the book in his hand, turned around, and waved at them.
His greeting was a bit absent-minded, but Iruka happily said goodbye and returned to the classroom.
Only the three of them remained on the training field, and the atmosphere turned tense.
Especially Naruto, who glanced at Sasuke, then back at Kakashi. He felt a strange vibe in the way these two exchanged looks.
"Uchiha Sasuke, you took Naruto home to stay last night, didn't you?"
Kakashi had expected some high-level mission from the Third Hokage, but it turned out he was assigned to closely watch and supervise these two kids.
This was really troublesome, even more annoying than an assassination mission.
But he couldn't just ignore them — one was the teacher's son and the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, the other was Itachi's little brother and the last surviving Uchiha orphan.
If this were anyone else's responsibility, no one could manage them properly. Plus, the Third Hokage specifically reminded him to teach Sasuke how to use the Sharingan.
"Yeah."
Sasuke withdrew his gaze from Kakashi's face and readily admitted it, but didn't offer any explanation.
He wasn't clear about what the Third Hokage's true intentions were, but if it was only a warning to stay away from Naruto, there was absolutely no need to send Kakashi.
So, if he wanted to know the reason behind this, he would have to wait for Kakashi to explain it himself.
"It's definitely a bit troublesome for you to live alone. What about you, Uzumaki Naruto? Are you willing to go and live with Sasuke?"
Kakashi looked at Sasuke's attitude. In his droopy, deadpan eyes flashed a hint of displeasure, but he tried his best not to show it.
This brat was not cute at all; compared to Itachi, the gap was huge.
Turning his head toward Naruto, Kakashi now needed to confirm whether these two kids were willing to live together.
If they weren't willing, he could report back to the Third Hokage and wouldn't have to act as their babysitter and guardian.
