The news of the annihilation of Upper Moon Six in the Pleasure District spread like wildfire throughout the Demon Slayer Corps.
However, what caused the real commotion was not only the defeat of such a high-ranking demon, but the method by which it was achieved, and the existence of the being who carried it out.
At the Ubuyashiki estate, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, sat with his usual calm composure, listening to the report from Tengen Uzui, the Sound Pillar.
The other Pillars were gathered, their expressions a mixture of astonishment, skepticism, and even fury.
"And so it was, Oyakata-sama," Tengen concluded, his voice unusually grave despite his usual flamboyance. "The man, Gojo Satoru, appeared out of nowhere. He doesn't use a Breath, he doesn't have a Nichirin sword. He simply... stopped Gyutaro's attacks with an invisible barrier and then made him disappear. As if he had never existed."
Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Pillar, stamped his foot on the ground. "Nonsense! That's impossible! Only a Nichirin sword and sunlight can kill a demon! This 'Gojo' is a fraud, or worse, a demon with an unknown Blood Art!"
Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Pillar, nodded, his gaze skeptical. "I share Sanemi's doubt. No one possesses such power. It's a trap."
Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Pillar, covered her mouth with her hands, her eyes filled with amazement. "But... but if it's true, what amazing power! It would be so useful against Muzan!"
Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Pillar, looked up at the sky, his mind wandering. "If he disappeared, does that mean he left no trace? Like mist?"
Shinobu Kocho, the Pillar of Insects, who had already interacted with Gojo, interjected with her usual smile. "Oyakata-sama, Pillars, I can confirm that Gojo Satoru's energy is, in fact, different from that of demons. It is... vast and clean. And his power, though incomprehensible, is real. I observed it at the Butterfly Mansion."
"And what about his claim about Muzan?" asked Giyuu Tomioka, the Water Pillar, his voice monotone but attentive. "About him being a dimensional 'crack'."
Tengen nodded. "Yes. He claims that Muzan is extracting energy from another world, a 'cursed energy,' and using it to create the most powerful demons. He says that the Upper Moons act as conduits for that energy."
The room fell into stunned silence. The idea was so far-fetched, so beyond their comprehension, that it was difficult to take in.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki, his face marked by disease but his eyes filled with deep wisdom, finally spoke.
"I understand your doubts, my dear children. The existence of Gojo Satoru and his claims are, without a doubt, extraordinary. However, his power is undeniable. And his goal, to eradicate Muzan Kibutsuji, aligns with ours."
"But Oyakata-sama, how can we trust someone we don't understand?" insisted Sanemi, his anger barely contained.
"Faith does not always require understanding, Sanemi," Kagaya replied calmly. "Sometimes, it only requires observing the results. And Gojo Satoru's results are clear: Upper Moon Six has been eliminated. Furthermore, his knowledge of 'cursed energy' and 'dimensional anomalies' could be the key to finally defeating Muzan."
At that moment, Gojo Satoru, who had been "observing" the meeting from the roof of the estate, decided to make his entrance.
He materialized silently in the center of the room, his mythical bandage and a small smile on his face.
"Well, well, what a lively meeting," Gojo said, interrupting the discussion. "It seems you are talking about me. I hope it's good things."
The Pillars instantly went on guard, their hands on the hilts of their swords. Sanemi growled. "How dare you show up like this!"
"Relax, relax," Gojo raised his hands in a gesture of peace. "I just wanted to see how you would take the news. And it seems that some of you are more... skeptical than others. I understand. My existence is a little difficult to process."
Gojo turned his gaze to Kagaya Ubuyashiki. "Oyakata-sama, right? Your aura is quite interesting. It seems that you are the only one who sees the whole picture."
Kagaya smiled weakly. "Gojo Satoru. We appreciate your help in the Pleasure District. And we listen to your revelations with the seriousness they deserve."
"Good," Gojo nodded. "So, are we in agreement? My goal is to close the 'crack' that Muzan is causing. And to do that, I need to eliminate him. And his 'Moons.' Are you with me?"
Silence fell over the room. The decision was monumental. Accepting Gojo Satoru's help meant accepting the unknown, the incomprehensible.
But the promise of eradicating Muzan, the enemy who had tormented humanity for centuries, was too tempting to ignore.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them. "Yes, Gojo Satoru. We are with you. If your claims are true, and your power can achieve what we have been unable to, then the Demon Slayer Corps will support you in your mission to eliminate Muzan Kibutsuji."
Gojo smiled, a genuine smile. "Excellent, this is going to be fun. Now, where is the next 'Upper Moon'? Because I have a universe to stabilize."
