Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 — Whispers of Legacy

Kelvin awoke drenched in sweat. His breath came in short gasps, hands trembling as he sat up on the edge of his bed.

The dream still burned in his mind — too vivid to be called a nightmare.

A world in ruins.

Skies torn by lightning and shadow. Oceans boiling. Cities crumbling to dust.

And amidst the desolation…A throne forged of bone and obsidian.

A man sat there. No — not a man. A monster in human form. Cloaked in shadows, with glowing crimson eyes and a long, jagged spear resting across his knees.

But even more haunting…Someone was still standing. Bloody. Barely alive. Fighting.

And as the dark figure rose and walked forward, Kelvin had felt it — a pull in his soul.

"You carry my legacy... or will become it."

Kelvin gripped his head.It was too real. Too familiar. That wasn't a dream. It was a memory… of something yet to come.

Later That Day — Sacred Grounds of Light

"Lorien… where are we going?" Kelvin asked, his voice uneasy.

Lorien, walking ahead with his usual calm, turned back briefly."To a place only a few living people know," he said. "Where the Aura speaks more clearly."

They passed through a veil of glowing mist. Trees vanished. The world dimmed. What remained was a circular stone platform, surrounded by floating crystals — humming softly with pure light.

"This is the Sanctum of Clarity. If there's any place you can confront the truth behind those dreams… it's here."

Kelvin hesitated. But the moment his foot touched the platform, something stirred inside him.

Shadows. Whispers. A heartbeat not his own.

"You know me already, boy…""Don't fight what you are."

Elsewhere — Ray's Office, Late Night

A quiet knock.

Ray stood by the window, arms crossed.Lorien entered, his face grim."No change?" Ray asked.

"He saw him again," Lorien replied. "Eyes glowing, throne of bones… and this time, there was a spear."

Ray's expression hardened."…Then it's started."

Lorien stepped forward, voice low."What aren't you telling me?"

A long silence. Then, Ray spoke:

"You don't remember, do you? Eleven years ago. You were just fifteen.""You, Diana, and Kai… found a boy unconscious in a destroyed village.""A Black-haired child, with a strange necklace clutched in his hand. That boy… was Kelvin."

Lorien's eyes widened. "That mission... it was orchestrated?"

Ray nodded slowly."It was a trace left behind by Tyrus. He left Kelvin there… like a piece waiting to be claimed."

"But… why?" Lorien whispered.

Ray turned to face him fully, eyes filled with a weight only age and loss could bring.

"Because Tyrus isn't just watching him. Tyrus is his father.""And his goal is to reclaim Kelvin's body — to use it, fully awakened, and destroy all that remains of humanity."

Lorien stumbled back a step."That's why his aura is unstable. That's why the whispers..."

Ray raised a hand."And that's not all. The Order of Tyrus is hunting not just Kelvin… but Inavy as well."

"Inavy?" Lorien clenched his fists. "But why? I thought Kairon was the one who wanted him dead."

Ray's gaze sharpened."Kairon is a symptom. Tyrus is the root. His war began long before humans existed — before this world was shaped."

"The heir of Chaos and the son of Ruin… two paths that were always meant to collide."

Lorien's voice was barely a whisper."What do we do?"

Ray walked past him, placing a hand on his shoulder."We carry this burden. Just us, for now."

"Because no one else can protect them.""And no one else can know... not yet."

— Prelude to Shadows

As Kelvin sat alone in his room that night, the silence was broken by a faint echo—A voice, cold and ancient, reverberating through the walls of his mind:

"You've seen the future, my son… and yet you still run.""Soon, you will awaken. And when you do… the world will tremble."

At that same moment, far from the city, deep within a cavern drowned in corrupted aura,a figure cloaked in decay opened his eyes — glowing red.

And behind him, dozens of shadowed beings began to stir.

The Order of Tyrus…was moving.
