"Miss Robin Williams please answer the questions" that was the last thing she heard as the driver closed the door, she held her head and rubbed it, she always thought reports were annoying but these ones were top notch, "Miss Robin where are we heading" the driver asked politely, "go to the flat I need to see mom" she replied sounding exhausted, she had been in an interview for the past three hours and the questions were just something else, she was still deciding whether to accept Proxima partners, and if she accepted them she also had to accept Nexus innovations, that is her number one enemy company but the Proxima partners will really help her company rise up to top ten in the business world, but she has to wait, she will consult her mom first and see what she thinks before she takes a decision.
Her mom was sitting on the balcony sipping tea and looking over the sea, her mom loved the sea and so did she, thats what motivated her to build a house close to the sea although it takes three hours to get to the city from here it was worth it, "mom" Robin said as she hugged her mom from behind,"I missed you, I am so tired and exhausted, how come you and dad used to be so great at it" Robin complained and went sat beside her mom and placed her head on her mom's laps, "come on Robin your old enough not to be doing this, your old lady is too tired to hold your heavy head, come on get up" Janet said with a chuckle, but Robin was still, a tear dropped down her eyes, "mom sometimes I wonder, what if that day Dad didn't see us, what if he didn't like you, the what if's are a lot and it makes me think a lot and I'm afraid one day I would wake up and it will all be a dream, these fifteen years has been wonderful to us" Robin said.
.....Fifteen years ago...
After they had left Arthur's mansion, they went to Janet's father but they were sacked out, they went on to Robin's father's house and they were also sacked out, they lost hope and hence just sat on the road side, really hungry with nothing to eat, that's when a car passed by, the car came back, and stopped in front of them, the person walked out and called out "Janet" as if not so sure of himself, "Rudolph, Rudolph Williams" she replied, "oh my my, I have been looking for you for years now, I called your parents, your siblings and did everything, but none knew your location, where have you been" Rudolph asked all excited, "I got married and gave birth, dad disowned me for marrying the guy he didn't choose for me, and two years later he died, since then I worked as a maid for the Arthur's family" Janet explained feeling a bit embarrassed, "but you were the most brilliant in our class, your a business genius, what happened" Rudolph asked about surprised and taken aback, "it's all a long story" Janet stood up from the floor and the young confused Robin stood up with her mom "this is Robin, Robin Rudolph, a really good old friend of mine" Robin looked up at the big man, she felt intimated and nervous but Rudolph lefted her up and whispered to her not to be scared, he told Janet to get inside the car.
He drove them to his mansion, his mansion was almost as big as the Arthur's mansion, they got inside the chandelier lit hall, the wall filled with paintings and art works, the place had a cool feeling, it was like home, Rudolph asked the maid to prepare food for them and took Robin to her own room while he continued to chitchat with Janet, they finished eating, and Robin was sent to sleep. They continued talking filling each other in on everything that the other had missed out in the other's life.
Things were going perfect, Robin started being home schoolled which she loved and enjoy, they had a wardrobe change, Rudolph made them enjoy the life of high society, one they would have never even dreamed of.
It was three years later that Rudolph had proposed marriage to Janet to which she accepted, Rudolph adopted Robin and gave her his name, he even gave her the premission to call him dad, things since then had been a dream to Robin and everytime she is scared to wake up from it....
"Robin, stand up, tell me how the interview went" Janet said pulling her little girl from her long thoughts, Rudolph had said she needed therapy but Robin has always been a stubborn one not willing to agree she has a problem, "it was fine, I wanted to ask if I should really accept the Proxima Partners, you know if I accept their deal, it will mean I will be helping the Nexus innovations, and I don't want that, I wish dad was here" Robin said, looking a bit sad and lost again, "yh I also wish your dad was here, anyways, your dad would always say, forget personal woes when dealing with the business, think about the business and the benefits not your personal interests, that's all I will give you" Janet said, she got up, rubbed Robin's head and left with her coffee mug, Robin was still sitting looking at the sun and the sea, if only his dad wasn't in a coma, she wouldn't be running the business, she would have probably be in Las Vegas throwing some money away, she signed and stood up, since she has taken up the job, she might as well do it with a clean mind and a clean heart.
