Chapter 23 - 23

But she is new after all, and it is not easy to speak.

After the meeting, Emily also roughly understood which Chinese medicine extracts they are currently using for experiments.

When these pharmacists returned to the laboratory, the senior pharmacist Professor Tin came in and informed everyone that Emily would be in a group with them in the future.

Emily smiled and greeted everyone, hoping that they would take good care of her in the future.

But no one responded to her. They just glanced at her lightly and started working.

Emily pursed her lips tactfully, walked to her workbench, turned on her laptop, and used the Chinese herbal extracts they talked about in the meeting to make formulas while recording them on the computer.

She quickly got into the state, and others couldn't help but laugh at her pretense when they saw her serious look.

She quickly prepared the original drug extract according to her own ideas, but after various calculations, she found that although these medicines all had the effect of promoting yang, they could not achieve the miraculous effect of restoring the original function.

She had studied medicine since she was a child and was sensitive to medicinal materials. In addition, she had a good teacher and a long-lost medical book, so she mastered all medical physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical theory.

Although she is very proficient in medicine, she is not a miracle doctor, so if she wants to develop a good medicine that can cure the root cause, she still needs to do it step by step.

And she can't let others find out that she is a skilled doctor. She is just a pharmacist, so she can only do what a pharmacist should do.

At noon, all the staff went to the restaurant on the first floor to eat.

Emily also put down her work and followed everyone to the restaurant on the first floor.

The restaurant is decorated very warmly, with a European romantic, casual and atmospheric black glass round table, exquisite weaving, and gorgeous rattan chairs.

There is also a large outdoor dining area on the west side of the restaurant. The tables and chairs are also covered with a lot of romantic crimson banana umbrellas.

Emily is a newcomer, and the outdoor dining area where she can enjoy the beautiful scenery does not belong to her.

She took the plate and found a place where no one was, and she enjoyed it alone while playing with her mobile phone.

After lunch, when she returned to the eighth floor, Emily found that she couldn't enter the highly protected glass door at all.

She didn't have a work permit yet, and she hadn't entered her fingerprint into the original unlocking system.

She could only stand at the door and wait for her colleagues to come back. After a long time, some colleagues came out of the elevator one after another.

Emily wanted to follow them into the open glass door, but was stopped.

"Sorry, here, one person swipes the card once and enters once, and you can't bring anyone else in."

"But I work here too..." Before Emily could finish her words, the other party had already ruthlessly closed the glass door again.

She tried, but no one, even colleagues who worked in the same group and the same laboratory in the morning, would take her in.

Emily had no choice but to stand outside the door and wait, but she waited for several hours until she got off work, and no one was willing to let her in.

She was always indifferent and would not get angry because of this. She watched her colleagues come out of the glass door one after another.

She smiled slightly, and her mentality was very good. It was actually quite nice not to have to work for an afternoon.

After all her colleagues left work, she was the last one to take the elevator down.

At the gate of the institute, Joseph's car was already parked there, as if waiting for her.

Emily remembered that he seemed a little angry when they separated in the morning. She didn't expect that he would come to pick her up after get off work now.

She walked over and knocked on the car window gently.

The car window slid down quickly. The handsome side of the man's face was firm and sexy. He didn't turn his head to look at her. His thin lips seemed to move slightly, and he made a unique magnetic and low voice: "Get in the car!"

Emily smiled slightly, quickly came to the other side, opened the door and sat in.

"You get off work so early!" Emily said after getting in the car.

"Yeah!" Joseph's voice was a little cold and hard.

Emily pursed her lips, smiled and glanced at him, then turned to look out the window and stopped trying to find words.

The car became unusually quiet, and the driver in the front seat didn't even dare to breathe.

Emily was not affected at all by knowing that the man next to her was in a bad mood. She was always as cold as water.

The car drove directly into the main house of the manor. When passing the villa where she lived, Emily saw her sister Abigail looking at something there.

She looked back and found that her sister saw Joseph's car passing by and chased after her in high heels.

Emily's eyebrows twisted slightly. She was going to disappear for a few days so that her family wouldn't find out that she lived here.

So Abigail couldn't find out.

She suddenly looked at Joseph next to her. At this time, the man was looking at a document leisurely. It seemed that he knew she would ask him for help, so his thin lips, which had been tightly pursed, slightly raised an inconspicuous arc.

"Joseph, my sister will catch up soon!" Emily said, clasping her hands in front of her chest and making a gesture of asking.

Joseph raised his eyes comfortably, his voice was still a little cold, but with a hint of softness that was not easily noticed: "How do you repay me?"
