Chapter 14 - 14

Abigail grabbed her and shouted loudly to Christopher who was sitting in the living room: "Dad, it turns out that Emily bribed the servants at home and asked them not to cook dinner for us in the evening."

Christopher and Mrs. Christopher were watching TV in the living room. Hearing this, they strode over.

"Emily, is what your sister said true?" Christopher asked harshly as he came over.

Emily raised her eyes, and a bitter smile appeared in her cold eyes. It seemed that her father would always be willing to believe Abigail's words.

She shook her head: "I didn't!"

"Still quibbling! Dad, look, all the servants in the kitchen are cooking dinner for her!" Abigail pointed to the kitchen.

Christopher looked at it and was immediately furious: "Dead girl, it turns out that you are the one behind the scenes, asking these servants not to cook for us!"

"I didn't!" Emily defended herself, even though she felt that her defense was always powerless in front of them.

Christopher didn't see the young master of this family again in the evening, and because he was waiting for the young master in the main house, he didn't have a meal. When they returned here, the servant said that the time was up and they couldn't cook for them.

The three of them could only eat a few bowls of noodles casually. When he thought of this, Christopher hated Emily who was playing tricks behind his back even more.

His eyes were fierce, and he stretched out his hand and slapped Emily in the face.

Emily's head was hit and tilted. She lowered her eyes and tried to calm down her anger.

The servants in the kitchen seemed to hear the slap outside, put down their work, and rushed out.

Seeing Emily being beaten, the servant who seemed to be the leader changed his face: "How dare you hit someone!"

"What if you hit her? She is my father's daughter, and my father can beat her if he wants to. You are a servant, what qualifications do you have to talk here?" Abigail was angry and yelled at the servant who seemed to want to stand out.

The servant didn't say anything, turned around, walked into the living room and called the main house.

Abigail saw this and felt something was wrong. She exchanged a glance with Christopher and Mrs. Christopher, and hurried over to stop the maid from calling to complain.

"What do you want to do? Who do you want to tell about our family affairs?" Abigail said with a dark face, suppressing her disgust for the maid in front of her.

"You little bitch, why don't you stop her from calling!" Christopher scolded Emily with a threatening tone.

Emily's eyes sank, and she put away all her anger and injustice, and walked to the side of the maid.

She smiled and said to her, "I did something wrong, and it's only natural for my dad to teach me a lesson."

Aunt Zhang, the maid, put down the phone, looked up at Emily, nodded slightly, and said, "Sorry, I'm nosy!"

"Thank you!" Emily said softly when the maid turned back to the kitchen.

Aunt Zhang paused, turned back and smiled gently at Emily: "Emily, you are too kind!"

In fact, what she wanted to say was not kindness, but weakness.

Emily lowered her eyes. Kindness was too ethereal for her. She just listened to her mother's words, restrained all her true nature, and acted weak in this family.

After dinner was ready, the servants came to invite her to eat, and Christopher, Mrs. Christopher and Abigail also followed.

After making dinner, Emily was sure that these servants came to take care of her, and they deliberately favored one over the other and tortured Christopher and others.

After returning to the room and taking a shower, Emily looked at her big bed. Joseph didn't come today.

She turned off the light and fell asleep soon.

She felt itchy in a daze, and slowly opened her eyes. The perfect outline of a man in front of her gradually became clear.

"Why are you here?" Emily's sleepiness disappeared instantly, and she opened her eyes wide to watch the man gently and seriously treating the wound on her hand.

"The wound is wet, why don't you treat it!" The man's gentle voice was like sunshine, spreading into her heart.

When she was taking a shower just now, her wound was wet, but she was too sleepy to care about it. She didn't treat it again and went to bed to sleep directly.

"Thank you!" Emily smiled slightly. I don't know if it was the bedside lamp that made the man look so warm when he lowered his head and treated her wound seriously.

On this day, her mother's property was mortgaged by her father, and then she had trouble when she went to find William, and was bullied by Tim. After returning home, she was bullied by her father and sister. Although she always acted calm and didn't care.

In fact, her heart has been bearing the pain brought by various changes.

When everyone around you oppresses you, hates you, and makes you unhappy, a man who seems to hold you in his palm can suddenly appear, and the warmth he brings will suddenly be magnified.

"How did you hurt your hand?" Joseph looked up at her and asked in a deep voice.

"I accidentally fell!" Emily said with a faint smile.

"Be careful next time!" Joseph said in a low voice, with obvious concern in his words.

Emily nodded slightly, smiled and asked: "Is this manor yours?"

Otherwise, how could he be able to come and go freely at this late hour? As far as she knew, there were many bodyguards in this manor.

Joseph hooked his lips at Emily, smiled meaningfully, and then packed the medicine box carelessly.

"You also know where the medicine box of this house is. It seems that you are really the owner of this house." Emily said again when he got up to put the medicine box.
