Chapter 4: Dramore, The God of Entertainment.
Victor only nodded in response with an emotionless look on his face seeing the proof he had shown, but his once soulless eyes had a bit of brightness in them now. He didn't even question how the being read his mind, but he did think he had disrespected him a little by thinking he looked like a clown. He didn't care, though, as the self-proclaiming god in front of him didn't mention it.
'He might need something from me if he's showing me so much and being so patient with me too. It looks like both of us have the same thought, Mr. God.'
The boy's smile had now turned into a grin as he liked how Victor quickly understood what he was going to explain to him and get him to agree to after enticing him. He really liked smart people, and Victor even communicated with them using the fact that he could read his mind. The more he stayed with him, the more he liked him, even ignoring the fact that he was called a clown twice.
"What do you want from me? I could do anything for you if you promise me you can revive my Anya so we can both be together like before."
The desperation in his voice was quite clear, and the intense weight and emotion his words carried made the God of Entertainment even more excited now.
He had sent a few humans before him, but he wasn't satisfied by any of their performance up till now. They couldn't raise the emotions like this human had done in just this interaction, whether by anger or his unusualness—he did feel quite entertained.
'But reviving someone doesn't fall under my domain. I would need Hades' help for it. However, that jerk is a bit of a buzzkill. I'm not sure if I would be able to get him to do it or not. However, why does it matter now? This human needs to fulfill the task I have set for him, which many souls I had sent from Earth failed in.'
'Desperate ones died trying, and many just gave up on it, seemingly finding the task impossible and started enjoying their life in that world until they had time to do so before the world ends.'
The ones who would give up pissed him off quite a lot, but the desperate ones—their struggle, their raw emotions, and their dying breath—everything was entertaining, pure entertainment.
The desperation in Victor's eyes made his body tingle. It was the most desperate he had ever seen someone.
'Hahaha, I am so lucky today.'
"I will revive any person you want in the new world I am going to send you, but only after you save that world from its impending doom."
"It won't be easy. I could even say it's almost impossible. Do you still want to do it?"
The being now had a neutral expression on his face while grinning inside. He wouldn't have mentioned the task being seemingly impossible to others, but the desperation in Victor's eyes told him he wouldn't reject it even if he mentioned it to him.
Victor didn't even think for a second. Even if God said it was almost impossible, he had to make it possible using every ounce of his power. He didn't know how he would do it, but he would do everything he could to bring back Anya.
Even if it meant saving the world this god wanted him to save.
"I will do it. No! I am going to do it."
"Good. That's what I was expecting from you." The God replied.
Victor knew they had made the deal, but he was still not satisfied. How would he know that the self-proclaiming God in front of him wouldn't go back on his words after he saved the world? He couldn't just trust his word.
The God of Entertainment had read his thoughts. It wasn't the first time someone asked that same thing, but there were quite a few idiotic ones who just agreed to the deal without even making sure.
Even if they had fulfilled the task—which he fully believed that with the personalities in the world he was going to send them to would likely be impossible to begin with—even if by some miracle they would have done the task.
'Hehehe... that would have been another great form of entertainment for me.'
A strange golden parchment appeared in front of Victor where some conditions were written, and at the bottom, there were two places to sign.
The Oath of Soul
"The Oath of Soul" was written at the top, and there were many conditions written below them. He found that the god in front of him was called Dramoré, The God of Entertainment.
The conditions seemed almost perfect, but Victor had still found some loopholes in them, which made him a bit wary of the god in front of him. But he had to go through with it if he wanted the chance to revive his Anya.
He hadn't trusted him from the moment he had met him, but he was even more cautious now.
Victor told Dramoré about the fact that in the contract it was mentioned that he would fulfill one wish of Victor Black, but after he would go into the new world, he was not sure if he would be the same person with the same body or not. So would he be Victor Black or someone else?
And he also mentioned the last condition which said both of them would face a force strong enough to destroy their soul if any of them broke the pact. So in Victor's case, if he failed to save the world, he would have likely died if that happened, so this condition didn't mean anything. But for Dramoré it was different.
It may have looked perfect at first glance, but Victor was sure the force that could destroy his soul couldn't even do much to a god's soul—he was sure of it. So it could be used as a loophole.
He could see the grin on Dramoré's face when he mentioned those facts. After knowing his title, he knew he was being entertained by him now, and the reason for him giving this chance would likely be for his entertainment too.
He didn't care if he was seen as a form of entertainment or not. As long as he could bring back Anya, he would do anything.
