The Sahara sun scorched the barren wasteland, but beneath the sand, VANTA's eyes flickered open like a predator awakened. His mind scanned through centuries of dormant memories, each one etched with betrayal and secrets.
"This world... it's still broken," he muttered, flexing his augmented fingers. "And they think they can control it with lies."
Back in the underground lab beneath Tokyo, Julian and Reese patched wounds and reloaded weapons, tension thick in the stale air.
"We can't keep running," Reese said quietly, eyes sharp. "This war's coming to us."
Julian's gaze hardened. "Then we fight where they least expect it."
Meanwhile, Eve and the captive woman—now freed—navigated twisting corridors of the Vienna archives, dodging toxic gas and security drones. The woman introduced herself as Lara, a former Ghost Net insider who had turned rogue.
"The Nexus isn't just data," Lara whispered. "It's a weaponized network controlling governments and economies worldwide. Lucian wants to reset everything—and we're the last resistance."
Eve's breath caught. "Then we're not just stealing data anymore. We're saving the world."
In a shadowed chamber beneath the Pentagon, Lucian observed the unfolding chaos on his holo-display, a cold smile playing on his lips.
"Let them come," he said, voice like steel. "They'll soon learn that some codes aren't meant to be broken."
Outside, the city lights flickered, the digital pulse of war growing ever stronger.
