Episode 6: Threads of a Forgotten Past

Juvia sat in silence beside Ha-jun, her fingers trembling against the cold stone floor. The courtyard was still. The battle had ended, but the echoes of it lingered in the air.

She looked at her hands, still faintly glowing from the Moonfire.

"What if I can't control it next time?"

Ha-jun, holding his bleeding side, gave her a weak smile. "Then I'll be there to catch you. Every time."

His words warmed her more than the moonlight ever could.

Still, her mind was restless.

The Moonfire… a power she never asked for. A destiny she never chose.

But now, she couldn't escape it. She had seen the truth—and she had felt it, burning in her veins like it had always been there.

"I need to know more," she whispered. "About who I was. About what's coming."

Ha-jun nodded solemnly. "Then it's time you saw the place where everything began."

She blinked. "The Moon Temple?"

He stood slowly, wincing. "What remains of it. We have to leave before Kael returns with others."

She helped him up, worry creasing her face. "You're hurt."

"I'll heal," he said. "But if they get to the temple before we do, everything will be lost."

Together, they moved through the city's sleeping veins—cutting across alleys, rooftops, and secret paths only Ha-jun seemed to know.

An hour passed before they reached it.

A forest. Quiet. Haunting.

And in the middle of it stood a broken ruin—a crumbling stone arch, swallowed by ivy and moonlight.

The Moon Temple.

Juvia stepped forward, a strange calm washing over her. As if her soul had returned home.

The air shimmered with power. Memories whispered in the leaves. Shadows danced in the corners of her eyes.

Ha-jun lit a silver flame in his palm and led her down a set of stairs hidden beneath the roots of a tree. The staircase spiraled deep underground.

At the bottom, they entered a chamber—round, ancient, and filled with glowing murals.

Juvia gasped.

Paintings covered the walls—each depicting a scene from the past.

A girl cloaked in moonlight.

A boy cloaked in shadows.

A kiss shared beneath a lunar eclipse.

A betrayal. A war. A death.

Her hand moved to one mural instinctively—a priestess holding a blade to her own chest as dark spirits circled above her.

"It was the only way to seal the curse," Ha-jun said quietly. "You gave your life to protect me. To end it."

Tears welled in Juvia's eyes. "But it didn't end."

"No," he whispered. "Because love is more powerful than death. You returned. So did I. Again… and again."

A silence stretched between them, heavy and beautiful.

Then Juvia turned, her voice firm. "We need to break the curse. For good."

Ha-jun nodded. "To do that… we'll need to find the Moon Relic. The original artifact that holds the bond between your soul and the darkness."

"Where is it?"

He hesitated. "Lost. Somewhere between realms. Only one person ever knew where it was hidden."

"Who?"

He looked away. "Your brother."

Juvia's blood ran cold.

"I don't have a brother."

"You did. In your first life. And he was the one who betrayed you."
