Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:The Voice Beyond Death

The battlefield was chaos. Screams, metal, fire—everywhere. My sword was slick with blood, my arms trembling from exhaustion. But I didn't stop. I couldn't.

They surged at me—the Demon King's army, a tide of monsters and soldiers that never ended. I kept cutting through them, one after another. I had to reach him. I had to—

And then, I felt it.

A cold sting.

Not from ice.

From steel.

I looked down. A blade—his blade...or should i say...demon kings blade—was pierced through my chest. My breath hitched, the cold flooding into my lungs.

He stood behind me. Silent. Merciless.

I dropped to my knees, sword slipping from my fingers.

But I still tried to fight. I tried to rise.

My vision blurred. The blood soaking my clothes turned the battlefield red and black. My body hit the ground hard. The sky spun above me.

I was dying.

No, I was dead.

> I wish I had another chance... If only I had known... If only I had a way to stop him—

And then I heard it.

A voice. Deep. Cracked with sorrow. Filled with regret.

"..Why.. i failed to recognize you...You should wear this... It'll help me recognize you this time."

What?

Everything went dark.

– Five Years Ago

I gasped. My eyes flew open. I wasn't on the battlefield anymore.

I was in my bed. My room. The same canopy curtains. The same silk sheets.

"Lady Eira! Wake up! You'll be late for the emperor's coronation!" a voice chirped.

My maid. Mira.

I sat up slowly, heart thundering. My body felt... light. No blood. No pain. My chest—intact.

Confused, I stumbled to the mirror.

What I saw made my knees weak.

I was nineteen again. My hair hadn't yet been cropped from battle. My eyes hadn't dulled with war. This... this was five years ago.

I turned to Mira. "Where's my brother?"

She blinked. "Still asleep, my lady. Should I wake him?"

My brother. Alive.

The war hadn't started. The battle hadn't happened.

This... this was before it all.

He could have been the next Duke. If only the war hadn't taken him. If only—

( No i will... i will make sure ..that war never happens this time..)

"What time is it?" I asked, already swinging my legs over the side of the bed.

"Just past seven in the morning."

I ran. I didn't even change out of my nightdress.

Down the hall. Through the courtyard. Past the stunned guards.

I burst into the family's weapon storage. My fingers curled around the hilt of the first sword I found.

( I can stop the war.... no,I must...)

(.if I remember correctly...the war happend because ..... brother of emperor of Caelreth..

on his way to coronation.. i must save him to save my brother)

I was back. And this time... I would rewrite fate with my own blade.
