"Would you die for me?"
The boy with spiky brown hair widened his eyes and chuckled nervously.
In response, the black haired girl smirked and backed away a couple steps until the edge of the large water fountain was directly behind her.
Then, a glowing purple magic aura coated the girl's body. Her normal outfit exploded, revealing her naked form for barely a second before black straps formed over her breasts and crotch. Black latex-like gloves covered her arms nearly to her shoulders and black metallic greaves covered most of her legs. A singular spiked pauldron appeared over her right shoulder and a plain pauldron on her left. Finally, a pair of black wings sprouted from her back.
In the brief moment where the girl's nude form was completely visible, the brown-haired boy stumbled backward and fell on his rear. His eyes focused on the girl's chest without blinking. His lips stammered open and shut as though he was about to have a brain aneurysm. After the transformation, though, the boy moved his gaze to the girl's wings.
All of this stimulation prevented the boy from noticing the blonde man approaching from the other side of the fountain.
"Well, I have to admit I did have fun today. Considering how naive and childish you are, things could have been much much worse," The woman casually commented. Then, she raised her left arm and looked at a pink scrunchie on her wrist before saying, "Thanks for the gift, too. Very sweet, but, even so..."
During all this, the boy was too startled to move and widened his eyes while the black haired fallen angel summoned a red javelin of light in her hands. Finally, the boy responded and reached out while anxiously exclaiming, "Yuuma! Wait, please!"
"It's time to die!"
The fallen angel lunged forward with her javelin.
Then, all of a sudden, it halted. Yuuma, now in her fallen angel form, jerked forward with the momentum and widened her eyes upon seeing a bare hand grasping the magical javelin near the tip. More than a meter remained between the spear and her target.
Below, the brown haired boy stared at her breasts bouncing back and forth from the halted inertia.
Catching herself, the girl narrowed her eyes and raised her gaze to the owner of the hand that stopped her attack dead in its tracks. The moment her dark purple eyes focused on the man's silvery blonde hair and bright blue eyes that had glowing red eight-pointed stars in them, she froze.
"An angel? No, who are you?" She demanded, unable to discern the humanity of the first man at first glance.
"Adam."
"-Kugh!"
A fist slammed into her side before she could respond to the man's name. She never even saw his arm move. Her waist flew outward and dragged the rest of her along for the ride. The next moment, she smashed through several trees more than twenty meters away.
"Eh??? What is happening right now?" Hyoudou Issei asked aloud. He couldn't perceive anything that just happened but heard the exploding trees to his right.
Turning to look down at the young man, Adam rested a hand on the boy's head and said, "Don't worry, son. As long as I am here, nobody can harm you."
Completely flabbergasted by all of this, Issei blinked several times while trying to mentally process this unexpected development. However, the confident and reassuring tone of this blonde man's voice soothed his anxiousness without him realizing. Somehow, he felt safer than he ever had before even though it made no rational sense.
Adam removed his hand from the boy's head and looked at his ruined sleeve. The velocity of his left hook shredded the cloth to bits.
Then, he looked at the glowing spear in his hand. He tossed it up and down a couple times to feel out the weight. Feeling quite comfortable with the magic spear in his hand, he raised his gaze toward the broken trees along the fallen angel's trajectory. Immediately spotting his target, he chucked the javelin.
*Cough!*
Just when Raynare barely stood up with blood leaking from her mouth, nose, and ears while pushing down a partially broken tree out of pure rage, she suddenly felt pain in her left shoulder. Her eyes widened in horror as her own light spear stabbed her and whisked her off her feet. Pulled by her shoulder, she flew several more meters before crashing into the dirt. The light spear stabbed into the ground through her collarbone and pinned her there.
Groaning due to the pain, she tried to grab the light spear.
"Why?! Why can't I move it?! Move, dammit!"
Writhing around in the dirt, she cried out with tears forming in her eyes. No matter how hard she tried, the spear refused to move. It didn't even feel like her own magic anymore.
"How pitiful for one of Father's creations to be like this. I remember even the weakest of them being far stronger," A calm voice commented while approaching at a casual clip.
Inwardly, Adam thought back to the valkyries, angels, and fallen angels from his first and second self's memories who were capable of carving out continents with ease.
Terrified, Raynare froze. She slowly raised her head and spotted the blonde man approaching. Something about the glowing red stars in his eyes deeply unnerved her and sent a chill down her spine.
"Hm. What should I do with you?" Adam wondered aloud, tilting his head in an innocent manner.
Still pinned to the ground by the light spear, Raynare exclaimed, "Please! Spare me! I'll do anything!"
"We both know that's a lie."
Raynare fell silent and glared at the man in front of her. Spitting out some clotted blood, she angrily asked, "Who are you and what do you want from me?"
"Hm? You attacked one of my children. Of course I'm going to stop you."
"Chil… dren?"
Raynare finally recalled the name the man gave. Her eyes widened, and she stared at him in disbelief.
Ignoring the fallen angel's stare, Adam looked up at the wavy purple barrier separating this area as a separate space.
In that moment, Raynare raised her right hand and summoned five more light spears. Each one hurtled through the air at different angles targeting Adam.
Unperturbed, Adam lowered his gaze. His arms whipped around at weird angles. He caught every spear, flickered forward several meters to stand above the fallen angel, and stabbed all five spears in a circle around her head only nanometers from her skin. Several sections of her black hair were cut off by the spears, and the magic stung her face.
"You… how?" Raynare mumbled in a completely defeated tone. Her chest deflated in resignation.
Meanwhile, Adam pondered whether or not to kill the little fallen bird. It seemed like the easiest method of protecting his children, but he only resorted to violence to protect his children. Since he considered a final option rather than a first option, he figured he would try something else.
Reaching forward, Adam grabbed the light spear pinning the girl to the ground and yanked it out.
Raynare screamed. Blood spouted from the wound. Briefly, her body turned as though wanting to crawl away, but she stopped after rolling onto her stomach. Instead, she simply closed her eyes and grit her teeth.
However, the final blow never arrived.
Contrary to the girl's expectations, she heard a loud crack nearby and opened her eyes. What she saw left her dumbfounded enough to momentarily forget the pain of her injuries.
A few meters away, Adam chopped down a tree with his bare hand as though it were an axe. Then, he chopped the trunk into dozens of log chunks, also with his bare hand. His eyes scanned the forest briefly before landing on a stag beetle of some sort. Copying the genetic structure of it, his fingers morphed into sharp appendages and carved each slab of wood into wooden paddles.
All of this transpired in only a few seconds and looked like a blur in Raynare's eyes that she could barely follow. It left her dizzy.
The next moment, a hand grabbed her ankle and yanked her off the ground. She suddenly found herself laying on her stomach over a pair of thighs covered in black pants. Blood still seeped from her shoulder wound onto the ground in front of her face. The change in location occurred so quickly that her mind failed to process it.
Then, wood smacked her backside so hard that she coughed up blood. Above her, she heard words spoken like some sort of spell activation, "Fatherly discipline. This hurts you more than it hurts me, but maybe it will help."
