Synopsis
Synopsis: "I just want to die..." A young adult in his early twenties named Carl lived most of his life as a "pushover," but that stopped in high school after deciding to learn how to fight (after recovering his memories from Earth). Unfortunately, he lived the rest of his life in social indifference until that night. [You have completed the form to live in another world from the wonderful goddess Aqua] Author's Note: I'm not gonna lie... this is a slow story, but it'll be interesting. The protagonist is Carl (official name is Takamura Renji), he's a former ordinary Earthling. Unfortunately, he died (gas leak in his neighborhood) only to end up in the body of an ordinary Japanese guy. He ends up thinking about suicide because of his shitty social (and overall) life, but he stumbles upon a website run by Aqua. Main world: Konosuba. First world: Jigokuraku (or just Hell's Paradise) Other info (warning!!): I'm not the author of Konosuba or the other manga mentioned here.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: ...the irresponsible goddess.

[Website reserved for Japanese people wanting to end their lives.]

"Finally... I'm here."

My name is Carl... yeah, I can't remember my last name for some unknown reason.

Why am I on a morbid website?

To understand that, I gotta explain my physical identity.

Yeah... Carl is the name of my soul or my mental identity, 'cause my body is called Renji Takamuta.

After wanting to light a cigarette while walking around my neighborhood at night, I died...

Exactly like I'm saying, Carl died lighting a cigarette while walking carelessly at night.

I didn't really get the whole thing, but I suspect a gas leak.

Why such a hypothesis? And not a meteorite or some other crazy shit?

I'd seen people from some company doing repairs and maintenance on their large-scale piping, but they didn't do their job properly.

An absurd death... But my problems didn't stop there.

When I woke up, I'd become Renji Takamuta.

The pushover of the bullies in a sophomore class at a high school that seemed to have a surprisingly higher ratio of guys than girls.

This created a very masculine atmosphere.

Of course, as a guy in his twenties in a high schooler's body, I ended up getting beaten up trying to go against them on the first day.

Eventually, I decided to train my obese and malnourished body to deal with the situation.

And yeah, the adults didn't want to intervene.

After a few months of training in Kyokushin karate and kendo, I was able to settle their hash.

At the time, I naively thought I'd solved my problems.

I'd underestimated the influence of the gang leader's father.

Despite my adult knowledge, I could never succeed in my exams or studies in general, and that's extremely frowned upon in an Asian society.

This leads me to this moment.

A young man in his early twenties, in a crappy little apartment in front of a... morally questionable website.

While I was looking around the site trying to figure out whether I had the determination to kill myself or not, an ad suddenly appeared.

[Before deciding to kill yourself, wouldn't you like to try exploring another world?]

I started exploring the website opened by the ad, 'cause... why not?

I've got plenty of time to end my life soon anyway.

The site's motto was as follows:

If this world is too hard to live in, then live in another one.

Seriously?

They could've put in more effort.

There were several worlds in their catalog that I could choose from.

So there were several selections that could be made.

A world where science defies magic, or a world dominated by pirates and a corrupt government, a medieval world dominated by magic and a fake human god, a world of swords and magic ruined because of a witch...

The list was long.

Finally, I decided to take the world highly recommended by the site's creator.

Why this decision?

I don't really give a shit... I just wanna kill myself quickly and this is just one last little whim.

Anyway, it's probably the start of an online game.

After all, it was an advertising link.

I don't understand why the advertising targets suicide candidates, but I didn't think too much about it and moved on.

This could be good as my last online game.

At least it's way healthier than thinking directly about my suicide.

Moving to the next page on the website, they had me choose from several races, countries, and cultures.

It'd be more fun if I'm... more than just a regular human, right?

I decided to take the Crimson Demon sub-race, 'cause the name sounds familiar and it sounds cool.

After getting bored with too many choices in the option called character customization, I decided to create my Crimson Demon as a replica of a teenager named Killua Zoldyck.

The only difference is the black hair and scarlet-colored eyes, which are a trait of the Crimson Demon race.

After that, there was a page with bonus points.

"Oh, this definitely looks like an interesting game."

According to the information in front of me, they'll soon be called skill points and stats.

I had to distribute them to have starting stat points, and use the rest to get skills later.

However, some skills require a certain level in stats.

"There are a total of 6 stats, which are strength, luck, health, intelligence, magical power, and agility..."

I only have 200 bonus points to distribute and keep for my future skill points.

After long deliberation.

I ended up distributing it like this:

Name: Renji Takamura

Species: Human (Crimson Demon)

Age: 21

Class: None

Level: _

• Strength: 10

• Agility: 10

• Intelligence: 30

• Luck: 50

• Magical Power: 50

• Health: 30

Available skill points: 10

According to the site, average stats are 5 everywhere.

"Haha, if only I had that much luck..."

A sigh escaped me a bit, but it was temporary.

I continued exploring the site, which asked me what power I'd appreciate.

They asked to be extremely precise, because a lack of information would have potential harmful effects or would be automatically completed with random information to make it consistent.

Honestly, I was lost for a moment.

What power would a man want?

There were several, but I decided following the theme of this website and reflecting my desire.

"I'd like to have the ability to leave this world to go anywhere."

[Name: Dimensional Travel]

[Description: the owner of this skill can go anywhere in the multiverse according to his "desire" and can automatically return to his starting world]

[Level: 1]

[Warning: the skill level is low, you'll have trouble controlling it normally]

After clicking on completion, a window appeared with a name too familiar to forget.

[You have completed the form to live in another world from the wonderful goddess Aqua]

"Shit, I'm screwed."

I instinctively tried to run from my spot, but my computer screen exploded.

After that… nothing. Just total darkness.

The last thing I think I saw was my body smashed against the wall, while my head lay on the other side of the room.

After Carl, Renji died.

Renji Takamura's body couldn't withstand the force of the explosion and was found in a pitiful state by his landlord the next day.

The man didn't cry or feel pity for his tenant — he owed him too much unpaid rent.
