Well damn, how did things hey to this point? One moment I'm doing weapons practice with some friends at a meeting for our local medieval Reenactment group on my family's property, and the next thing you know, power goes out, you can hear the sounds in the distance as planes hit the ground, and suddenly everything goes black.... WHAT THE HELL?!?!
But, I should probably go back a little bit for anyone who finds this in the future.
My name is James Laucien Andrews the third and yes, I know my initials are JLA, I've heard the jokes before. Anyway, since my name was the same as my father and his father, all my friends called me Laucien or even Luc for short. I'm 35 years old and I grew up in a family that has been part of an organization that's all about studying and bringing to life the middle ages, we're even held events that the public could come to. You may ask if this is the same as the Renaissance Festivals that existence, my answer to that is no. Where we different is everything is done exactly as it would have been in the time periods we focus on. At our camping events you won't find modern tents, instead people would be sleeping in the older style canvas pavilions, worth everything done period style. Clothing will be done in the same way. Having grown up in the organization, I was dual authorized in both heavy weapons combat and Rapier combat but the time I was twenty two. For my local group I was the rapier Marshal, along with being a knight and the local Baron after I 'ruled' the local 'kingdom' that was in our region. My parents stayed on in their positions, with my mother being Seneschal and my father being the heavy weapons Marshal.
My family owned property in the edge of California's Redwood Forest where all of our meetings and weapons practices were held every week. This property was specifically used for the local group's purposes and nothing else.
Anyway, once again I digress from what I'm trying to tell you, so why don't we get on with it so that I don't keep getting distracted and try telling you my whole life story and the history of my family.
