Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Hogwarts Year (5)

Luna immediately hugged her mother tightly, then quickly opened her small trunk. With nimble movements, she pulled out one by one the magical creatures Perenelle had gifted—from the Mist Pixie floating like luminous cotton, to the Paper Bird perched on her index finger.

"These are from Perenelle!" she said cheerfully, pointing at each creature, "This one can sing at night, and this one likes to sleep under mirrors!"

Pandora looked at her with sparkling eyes, her hand gently stroking the fur of the tiny creature nestled on Luna's shoulder.

"Luna... they're extraordinary. Just like you."

Meanwhile, Ludwig opened his magic trunk—which immediately made Xenophilius approach, full of curiosity.

"Look at this, Father," Ludwig said, pulling out a stack of illustrated comics titled "Pokémon: A Collection of New World Monsters."

"This is part of my duel card promotion—and could be an interesting addition to an upcoming The Quibbler edition."

Xenophilius held the comic as if touching an ancient manuscript. "The art style... it's expressive! One part journalism, one part dream world!" he murmured.

Ludwig smiled faintly. "And not just comics, Father. Look at this..."

He flicked his wand at the trunk, and from within floated a large duel board, resembling a chessboard, but with larger squares and a glowing surface. He placed two cards on it: Gandalf the Grey and Balrog of Moria.

In an instant, a semi-transparent figure of Gandalf appeared—glowing silvery-blue—and the Balrog followed in a fiery red aura. Both stood on the board, staring at each other in tense silence.

"Oh..." Pandora held her breath. "Ludwig... this is... amazing. They're like living."

"These are card manifestations. Nicolas Flamel and I created an alchemy system beneath the duel board—combining etheric conjuration and a visual resonance field to create semi-physical energy forms that can interact," Ludwig explained excitedly.

"And the cards aren't just for dueling," he added, then pulled out a Ralts card and a Jigglypuff card, both appearing in cute, floating forms, immediately making Luna giggle as she ran around the board.

"Look, Mother! They can sing too!" she cried joyfully.

Ludwig then turned to Pandora. "But before this is released in the Lovegood Store, I want you to learn the system with me. You're my best experiment partner."

Pandora smiled gently, her eyes welling up. "Of course, dear. We'll start tonight."

That night, under the glow of floating candles and the soft sounds of sleeping creatures, the Lovegood family sat around the duel board, surrounded by cards that shone like stars. Ludwig took notes, Pandora tested formulas, and Luna slept, hugging a small pink-furred creature.

A family, a game, and the beginning of something that would change the wizarding world forever.

A New Day in Ottery St. Catchpole – Lovegood Family's Mage Tower

Morning sunlight streamed through the stained-glass windows of Lovegood House, casting strange patterns on the house's crooked wooden walls. In one corner of the study, a stack of the latest The Quibbler editions had just come off Xenophilius's magically crafted printing press. This time, the front page featured something different: not conspiracy symbols or theories of strange creatures... but a picture of a boy in a hat with a small, electric-mouse-like creature on his shoulder.

The grand title: "A NEW ADVENTURE BEGINS! — POKÉMON: THE WIZARDING WORLD COMIC SERIES"

Xenophilius looked at the edition with a proud smile, then at Ludwig, who stood behind him holding a roll of reserve ink. "Today... is history."

And it truly was.

Hours after the edition was distributed throughout the wizarding world, bookstores and magical train platforms were filled with long queues. Small children in brightly colored robes held coins in their hands, shouting to each other: "I want the Ralts edition!" or "There's a holographic Jigglypuff in this edition, they say!"

Even adults were seen slipping The Quibbler behind their work robes, pretending to read reports while actually engrossed in the new chapter of Pokémon: Red's Adventure in the Kanto Region.

The Quibbler's sales exploded.

In just two weeks, The Quibbler's circulation soared sevenfold. In the realm of magical media, this was a phenomenon. The Daily Prophet, which had long been the official voice of the British wizarding world, suddenly looked... old-fashioned. Stiff. Behind the times.

And not just because of Pokémon.

Months earlier, Ludwig had opened a new gateway in the wizarding world: fiction.

Starting with The Hobbit, then The Lord of the Rings, these novels were published serially in The Quibbler—transforming the newspaper from an informational medium into a stage for epic tales. Readers no longer just waited for news about Ministry of Magic policies, but eagerly anticipated Frodo's adventures, Gandalf's departure, or the epic battle at Minas Tirith.

Ludwig Lovegood, a Ravenclaw student not yet seventeen, had created something unprecedented: a reading culture in the wizarding world.

And then, something even more extraordinary happened.

Young writers emerged. From Hogwarts students, adult wizards, to goblins and centaurs fluent in human language. They began submitting their manuscripts to The Quibbler's editorial office, hoping to contribute their stories to the "Wizarding World Literary Revolution."

Stories of dragons befriending blind boys, old wizards seeking true love between dimensions, even chronicles of wizarding rabbits who could read human minds—all originated from one source: inspiration from Ludwig.

One Daily Prophet columnist even wrote in their critique column:

"What cannot be denied is... one child from the eccentric Lovegood family has changed the world. If before we believed power only existed in wands and spells, now we know: a pen and imagination can be more powerful than an Avada Kedavra."

And while the wizarding world went wild over Pokémon, and book publishers began offering contracts to young writers, Ludwig remained as usual—quietly at his desk upstairs in his house, with Luna drawing beside him, and Pandora concocting anti-disappearance protective ink in the corner of the room.

He just gave a small smile, then noted in his journal:

"Writing is not just about stories. It's about creating a world... ...and inviting others to live in it."

Bright Morning at the Mage Tower, Ottery St. Catchpole

The summer sun snuck through the leaves, casting swaying shadows on the expansive lawn around the Mage Tower—the small magical tower standing grandly behind the Lovegood family home. This building, once merely a place for Pandora and Ludwig's experiments, now seemed more alive than usual. Today, there would be special guests.

From a distance, a group of children could be seen running along the dirt road. In front of them, Charlie Weasley—who now looked taller and more mature than when he first entered Hogwarts—carried a small suitcase in his hand, with a wide smile and the characteristic Weasley cheers behind him.

"LUDWIG!!" Charlie shouted, waving his hand.

Ludwig, who was standing at the entrance of the Mage Tower with Luna by his side, enthusiastically waved back. The wooden door of the tower opened wide, and joyful sounds began to fill the yard.

Also present with Charlie were:

Percy Weasley, the perfectionist curious about the duel system and card rules;

Fred and George, who were immediately interested in the visual effects and possibilities of "wild modifications" to the cards;

Ron, a little awkward but eager to try;

Ginny, with a curious stride;

And of course, Luna Lovegood, who had been busy preparing her Pokémon cards since morning.

Inside the Mage Tower – Card Dueling Arena

In the center of the main room, two large Game Boards stood majestically on carved stone pedestals. Their surfaces shone softly like crystal, each square the size of a card, neatly arranged in a chessboard-like pattern.

On the left side, the "Middle-Earth" themed Game Board—with miniature engravings of Bag End, Mount Doom, and Orthanc Tower.

On the right side, the "Pokémon" themed Game Board—full of colors and strange symbols like Poké Balls, glowing auras, and evolution spots depicted in illusionary magic.

Ludwig turned to Charlie and said softly, almost emotionally, "We've been designing this since our first year... and finally—six years later, it's real."

Charlie clapped his shoulder. "And more amazing than we ever imagined."

The Duel Begins

Ludwig and Charlie took positions on opposite sides of the Middle-Earth Board. Ludwig played Gandalf the White and Frodo Baggins, while Charlie opened with Aragorn and the cunning Gollum. As the cards were placed, semi-transparent manifestations appeared on the squares, like living miniatures of their characters.

Gandalf unleashed a burst of light towards Gollum, who leaped back and snarled. Frodo ran to find a protective position, while Aragorn advanced with his sword raised. The other children cheered and shouted as their cards began to attack each other.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, Luna and Ginny began their duel with wide smiles. Luna carefully placed Ralts on the first square, followed by Happiny, while Ginny opened with Jigglypuff and Clefairy.

When Ralts appeared with a soft glow, nodding its small head, Luna shrieked with delight. "Look Ginny, he's waving at me!"

Ginny laughed. "If he sings, be careful, Jigglypuff might get angry!"

The battle ensued—with flashes of pastel magic and soft auras clashing, funny sound effects, and an excitement no less thrilling than a Hobbit character duel.

A Day Full of Joy

Fred and George enthusiastically noted the effects of each card, already beginning to brainstorm ideas for "joke edition versions" of the duel cards. Percy was busy reading Ludwig's rulebook and giving detailed input on card power balance.

Ron—after a few duels, said with a laugh, "If there's a tournament for this, I'm in. It's much more fun than Wizard Chess!"

That day, the Mage Tower was not only a place of experiment and innovation, but also a stage for laughter, friendship, and wonder. The Weasley children and the Lovegood family merged into one common language: imagination.

At the end of the day, as the sun began to set, Ludwig sat on the tower steps, watching all his friends laugh and play.

Luna rested her head on his shoulder and whispered, "You know, Ludwig... this might be the best day of my life."

Ludwig turned and smiled. "I hope... this is just the beginning."

And in the distance, birds flew across the orange sky, carrying dreams that were now beginning to live—in the form of cards, stories, and an expanding wizarding world.

New Autumn, Start of the 6th Academic Year at Hogwarts

That morning, the air began to feel cooler, a sign that autumn was creeping in. In the backyard of the Lovegood family home, the Mage Tower stood strong, bathed in golden sunlight. Ludwig and Charlie stood side-by-side, wearing their school robes, which were now a little longer and covered in badges.

But this morning was unlike previous years. This time, it wasn't just the two of them who would be boarding the train to Hogwarts.

"Come on, hurry up! We'll be late!" shouted Molly Weasley from near the fence, lifting Fred and George's trunks—who, instead, were laughing, fighting over a box of magical biscuits from Pandora's kitchen.

Percy, with a serious face and an always-ready expression, already stood neatly. He was now entering his third year at Hogwarts and was eager to show that he would soon catch up to Bill in academic reputation.

Fred and George, the legendary twins, were entering their first year. With immense enthusiasm, they continued to argue over who would master dueling magic faster and "conquer" the secret rooms in Hogwarts.

Bill, their eldest brother, was not joining them. He had already graduated and was now working as a Curse-Breaker at Gringotts Wizarding Bank. The last time they received a letter from him, Bill was exploring ancient tombs in Egypt in search of ancient magical artifacts. He had enclosed a photo of himself sitting on a camel, smiling while holding an engraved wand.

The Weasley Family's Change of Fortune

This year, there was one thing different about the Weasley family—their economic situation had drastically improved. Arthur Weasley, who was often considered too "eccentric" in his interest in Muggle objects and old artifacts, had now found a great opportunity.

Thanks to close cooperation with Xenophilius Lovegood, Arthur successfully designed a series of simple alchemical tools for household and adventure use. Items like Portable Cauldron Warmers, Self-Stirring Potion Bottles, and Elemental Crystal Jars were now selling rapidly at the Lovegood Store.

Pandora also praised Arthur's ingenious designs, and together with Ludwig, they created a special edition "Weasley-Lovegood's Magical Utility Kit"—which was now a favorite item for Hogwarts students and young adventurers.

Molly Weasley, who usually struggled to manage the household budget, now smiled more freely when buying new robes for all her children. In fact, Fred and George had even begun to be equipped with small experimental tools from Pandora so that "their destructive talents could be properly directed," as Molly said with a mix of laughter and exasperation.

Journey to Hogwarts

At Platform 9 ¾, the great red Hogwarts Express billowed smoke, standing majestically, waiting for passengers. Ludwig, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Luna—who refused to let go of her brother's hug—stood near the front carriage.

"You promise to send me a letter every week, right?" Luna whispered.

"I promise," Ludwig replied, stroking his sister's head. "And once the card game is ready to be marketed at Hogwarts, Luna will be its main ambassador."

Luna smiled broadly. She held up her small trunk, full of cute Pokémon cards and miniature animals from Perenelle.

Inside the Hogwarts Train

Ludwig sat in a compartment with Charlie and Percy, while Fred and George were already busy trying to prank the train conductor with biscuits that made you burp like an owl. The atmosphere was lively, spirited, and full of laughter.

Ludwig gazed out the window, watching the blurring shadows of houses and trees.

"Sixth year, Charlie," he said softly. "This year is going to be big. I can feel it."

Charlie nodded. "We've created something amazing, Ludwig. And now it's time to spread that magic throughout Hogwarts."

And the train continued to move, carrying the students back to the magnificent magical castle in the north. A future full of challenges and surprises awaited, but one thing was certain—Ludwig Lovegood's story had just entered its most brilliant chapter.

The Third Golden Finger: The Rise of Independent Space

That night, the Hogwarts sky was studded with stars. An autumn wind crept through the high windows of the Ravenclaw common room. Ludwig had officially turned 17 that morning—the age of adulthood in the wizarding world. His friends were already asleep, but Ludwig couldn't close his eyes. He lay on his bed, his eyes fixed on the ceiling, his mind drifting to many things—about the duel cards, The Quibbler, Flamel, his mother, and the unwritten future.

Then... everything went dark.

Without warning, the world shifted. He suddenly found himself not in his bed, but standing on warm, boundless land.

The sky above him was bright blue. A vast savanna stretched around him. In the distance, Ludwig could see a large lake with crystal-clear water, reflecting the golden sunlight. On the other side, mountains loomed high, some peaks covered in snow. Dense forests circled the western side, inhabited by the sounds of magical beasts he had never heard before.

Ludwig was silent. His breath hitched. But this was no dream.

"This... this is my space..." he whispered.

For the first time since he realized he had three Golden Fingers, now the third—Independent Space—had activated. He could feel a deep connection to this place, as if this space was a part of him. Here, all laws of magic bent to his will. He only needed to think... and the land changed, water flowed, and the wind followed his command.

The Grand Plan Begins

The next day, Ludwig sat lost in thought in a corner of the library, his hands still trembling. He noted everything he had seen last night: the topography, the weather conditions, the soil type, the possibility of an independent climate... and the potential uses of that space.

"I have to fill it," he thought.

A plan formed in his head. This year, amidst classes and research, Ludwig would explore the Forbidden Forest—the forbidden forest near Hogwarts—to gather magical flora and fauna. But not to take them wildly—he wanted to save rare species, replant nearly extinct rare plants, and create a self-sustaining ecosystem in his Independent Space.

He began to think of the technical details:

Plantations of mandrakes, gillyweed, and fluxweed Farms for thestrals, hippogriffs, and puffskeins Fields of magical wheat and alchemical herbs A lake for merpeople and docile grindylows A Ravenclaw-style greenhouse, with a library of concocted plants and potion ingredients

Not only that. Ludwig would also build his private laboratory there. Inspired by the workshops of Nicholas Flamel and Pandora Lovegood, he would arrange a space for experimentation, ancient magic research, and the creation of more advanced magical duel cards.

The Explorer's Call

A few days later, Ludwig began to disappear frequently after classes. He would sneak into the Forbidden Forest, armed with notes on magical creatures, a compass made by Flamel, and a self-created transfer capsule—a kind of one-way teleportation device to his Independent Space.

He observed rare creatures: Bowtruckles hiding behind tree bark, colonies of Nifflers fond of hoarding crystal stones, and creeping plants that emitted the scent of dreams.

Every discovery was subtly and environmentally friendly transferred into his Independent Space. It didn't take long for his personal space to transform into a new miniature world—natural, magical, and very much alive.

Luna, who knew about this plan from Ludwig, helped out, occasionally giving him tips so the small animals could live comfortably. Even Pandora and Xenophilius contributed rare plants from their garden.

And Now... A World of Ludwig's Own

When night fell and everyone was asleep, Ludwig often entered his Independent Space, standing in his savanna, which was now filled with the light of magical lanterns. From the observation tower he had built, he could see small rice paddies in the distance, thestral enclosures, and mandrake forests beginning to grow lush.

He smiled contentedly. This small world was not just an extra space.

This was his headquarters. A sanctuary. A place of discovery. A place for a small civilization that would become the genesis of something greater. Ludwig Lovegood's world.

Their conversations could last for hours. Hagrid, known for his love of magical creatures, was very enthusiastic when he learned Ludwig had deep knowledge of various rare species.

"What did you say? A Nacli living in a salt lake? I've never heard of it!" "That's a creature from last month's Quibbler edition, Hagrid," Ludwig said with a smile, unfolding a magazine from his pocket. "My father has reprinted some scientific writings about the classification of endangered magical creatures."
