Chapter 3 - 3: Barça’s “Field Tyrant,” Media Explosion!

With the lineup changes completed,

The second half of the training match began!

Although Vilanova already had a few players in mind,

the score remained 0-0 on the field.

Even so, Vilanova couldn't help but feel curious—

in this "tiki-taka showdown," which team would be the first to break the deadlock?

Then came Kai's appearance.

Almost immediately, the coaching staff—including Vilanova—noticed something was off.

This yellow-skinned midfielder seemed completely out of sync with the team's tiki-taka system.

He stuck out like a sore thumb!

Every time Kai received the ball,

his decisions didn't follow the expected tiki-taka script.

The elegant rhythm of passing and possession was completely disrupted the moment the ball reached his feet!

Kai clearly had no interest in just keeping possession like the others.

His eyes constantly scanned the field—

as if searching for some unexpected, unpredictable place to send the ball!

Unbeknownst to everyone, Kai had activated his "God's-Eye View" module,

and his vision and awareness had reached levels beyond normal comprehension!

Meanwhile, the other La Masia kids' understanding of tiki-taka was still quite superficial.

Their vision, their sense of the big picture—miles behind!

But in this moment, no one understood Kai.

"He's not cut out for La Masia. Just as I thought—Asian players can't be relied on!"

Vilanova was visibly irritated.

By now, Barça's philosophy of tiki-taka had spread across Spain—no, all of Europe.

Possession football had become a religion.

Vilanova was a die-hard believer, a disciple of Pep Guardiola, his former partner-in-tactics.

And now, seeing Kai play like this?

Vilanova frowned, shaking his head in disappointment.

He just couldn't understand—how could someone from La Masia not play possession football?

Youth coach García tried to explain:

"Strictly speaking, he's not an Asian player. He's Chinese-Portuguese with dual Spanish citizenship. He's never played in Asia…"

That only made Vilanova more upset.

"If he's not from the Asian school, then why does he play like this? Nearly half the clubs in Europe and the Americas worship Barça's tiki-taka now! This guy is definitely a freak in La Masia!"

Seeing Vilanova get angry, Coach García could only sigh.

He had tried to talk to Kai many times in the past.

But the yellow-skinned kid always insisted on playing his own way.

He completely ignored the fact that he was in the world's most prestigious youth academy.

Back on the pitch,

Kai's arrival had shattered the delicate balance between the two sides' possession play.

And with his God's-Eye View activated, he was constantly looking for a chance to unleash his "Cruise Missile" module.

But there was a major problem:

Because he refused to blend into the La Masia possession rhythm,

his teammates stopped passing to him!

On the U-17 side, the young La Masia players instinctively believed that Kai was disrupting their tempo.

They all avoided passing him the ball.

But Kai could clearly see—

most of their "tiki-taka" was just pointless possession!

It wasn't just ineffective in building up an attack—

it often stalled their own momentum.

Even when there were fleeting moments to go for a long pass and break the defensive line,

they refused to take the risk.

Instead, they kept short-passing to the nearest teammate just to keep the ball moving.

Short passes. Endless short passes!

In their subconscious minds, these La Masia kids believed that as long as they kept the ball, they were doing the right thing.

Even if they were moving farther and farther from the goal,

even if the possession meant absolutely nothing.

They would stubbornly cling to this so-called tiki-taka.

They didn't realize—

creating damage is how you win matches!

What's the difference between aimless passing and just kicking the ball around?

Kai had had enough of this blind worship of tiki-taka.

"Pass me the damn ball!"

Kai shouted at his teammates!

His voice was loud enough for everyone on the sidelines to hear.

The youth coaches' faces turned stone cold.

Vilanova's brow furrowed deeply.

The spectators were stunned!

Among them was an international student, livestreaming the match on his phone.

He spoke to his viewers in shock:

"Holy crap! You guys see that? La Masia has a field tyrant now!"

"Wait—is that the guy you were talking about? The one who punched the national youth team manager?!"

"Oh my god! I've been overseas recently, didn't follow the news back home. He's trending now? You all said he seemed harmless—but turns out he's a total beast on the field?!"

"So messed up!"

Just a day ago, Kai had beaten up a coach at the U-20 training camp,

and the news had already exploded back home.

The Football Association didn't cover it up—

they went all in, blasting the story everywhere.

The entire internet was now blacklisting Kai!

Chinese fans were in a frenzy:

"WTF! This Kai's gone wild! Beating up our youth team manager! Now yelling at teammates at La Masia! Who the hell does he think he is??"

"What kind of football is this? He's been sleepwalking through the whole match! Doesn't even know what he's doing, and dares to yell at teammates? He's hopeless!"

"Did you all see the video of him hitting someone? He's basically a terrorist!"

"Trash! Useless! Our national team might suck, but that's no excuse to hit someone in public! Lawless! And this guy still has a spot in La Masia? What a joke!"

"He's just a foreigner! A foreigner trying to join our youth team?"

"The national team must be insane to even think about calling him up. Thank goodness he's banned online!"

"Damn right he's banned! If Barça actually signs Kai, I'll become a lifelong Barça hater!"
